They just recently sold our unit without letting us know a hard date to pay by. All of our belongings that we've had since we were children and our kids items as well. Gone. I hope no one else has to go through this cause it's heartbreaking for all of us. They told me that they always let people know a date through email yet one was not sent to us. The location is convenient but the customer service on site is terrible. The people on site have rarely been heloful with the exception of my first contact for rental assistance. Unfortunately haven't seen him since. Also, calling customer service is unhelpful. Everything you need is via a website even if a "manager" is on the property. I am, or was in between storage areas as I wanted to find one closer to home and less expensive. The list was down to this Public Storage location and Branham Self-Storage. Having looked at both online we decided to pay each a visit. So late morning on a Sunday we stopped for a physical inspection of what was available at Public Storage. We were greeted by a locked door and a female employee with some serious attitude from the start. Red flags are popping up in my head immediately! She then starts interrogating me as if we are peasents.. 1. What will you be storing? 2. How big are the items? I then tell her I looked online and the web page said that they had an 8X10 that was available for around $80. She seemed really put out that she had to look this up. So it appears they really want you to reserve and pay for your space site unseen. As an added bonus you get to avoid interfacing with their employee. She then informed us that I was referring to the "online" price and it would cost me more. She then rattled off space sizes expecting me to make a decision based solely on her description. We stated that we would like to view the spaces. Followed by more attitude from her. Maybe we were interruption her special "Me time". She walked us to a demo space that was pretty large. Then informed us that they have proprietary locks that we must purchase from them. Which I read as they will have access to my storage space whenever they want. No bueno! She then informed me that I had to sign up for their insurance and it would be my responsibility to cancel the policy after I proved I had adequate insurance that I provided. Then onto the additional administration fee and a "Start up" fee. I then looked over at the carts that are typical at a storage space and they were all cable locked which meant I would need to have Ms. personality unlock them for me if I in-fact used my space. At this point I let her know that we were done and would not be renting from them. I found another location closer to my home. No additional fees, third month free, my own lock, and I just signed a paper that stated I had adequate insurance. All with zero bad attitude. read more

Public Storage's business model is to lure you in with low rates and then aggressively jack up the rent as soon as they are able. This is how they operate. Knowing that, we were customers here for years and dealt with the rent hikes by changing units every couple of years. This location, however is not secure. We had our unit broken into in July of 2023 when a gate was left unlocked. While the employees were nice, we lost a lot of stuff. What did Public Storage do to compensate us? They raised our rent by more than 20%. The employees here are nice but there are a lot of homeless around and they do not consistently secure this site. I would not recommend this site if security of your belongings is important to you. read more

I would absolutely not rent from them again. While the staff is friendly and the place is clean. NOTHING about this storage company is convenient for the customer. They had a large issue with homeless living out of the units. Instead of coming up with a better resolution like kicking them out, or hiring security....they screw the customer! They now close at 6 on weekdays and FIVE on weekends! It's literally impossible to get to this place at all during the week if you work. Not only that, all the carts are locked up to use. Instead of having cameras, or figuring out a better solution for theft, they lock up the carts they do have and you have to go to the office to get the key to use the carts. If the office person is making rounds, or busy, you're out of luck. Stick to a smaller company. The big boys just screw you. I really think the issue here is the upper management. Anything to save a buck, but don't worry the building is painted nicely. So when you can't get to your stuff because their hours suck, you can look at the freshly painted buildings. read more

I had a unit here for a long time. My door got hit and bent making it impossible to open. My unit was full of dirt from gardeners blowing so all of my stuff was filthy. Also found a dead rat in my unit. Rates kept going up. $700 ? Nope that's ridiculous. Service was good. People nice. Kind of a creepy area. People hanging around the gate and such. Just glad to be out of there. read more

We made the mistake of getting a deal here. Then in the New year they jacked up the monthly rent. This place has ZERO service for a storage centre. The hours are TERRIBLE and there is routinely no staff in the Office. So if you need a cart to help...forget it. And they never apologize for lack of staff. they really do NOT care at all. The inside locations always have blown lights. The roller doors on your bay never stays open...so you have to prop it up with you own boxes otherwise you just have to work in total darkness. The staff said they would fix it. But to this day...nothing. The rental terms are totally against you. if you go 1 day into the next month you are charged a FULL month. no pro rata. So expect to be stung. If its a short term storage then it means 20-30% uplift on your monthly bill. These places are meant to make your life easier...all this place did for us was create stress and deplete our bank account. STAY CLEAR AWAY from this location. read more

We just rented a climate controlled space here online and when we got there we're told it was priced wrong on the website but the manager, Eli, talked with his boss and they honored the price. Throughout the process Eli has been responsive and helpful. The facility is new, clean, safe, and easy to access. The only downside is there is never a cart near our space, but Eli always goes and finds one for us. The app is great! You can open the gate on your iPhone without touching the keypad. read more

The app doesn't work. You can not access the door, elevator with the app. You should use the access code that is 8 numbers every time. For load or unload your staff, this location has just two cards for all customers. read more

The place is nice and clean the problem is when you call 1800 and reserve your unit they tell you one thing and when you go with your reservation you found another. Be aware of price I found the hard way that offers calling 800 number or online are only for 6 months and then they raise your rent. First, I was told over the phone by a PS representatives that there would be no increase in the monthly rental fee for a year. I didn't quite believe it so I asked her three different times to verify that that was the case. She continued to say it was. Well, it obviously wasn't as I found out when I went to rent my space. I told the PS person in this rental office what happened and I was told that was not correct. The first representative was wrong. Second, I was then told by the local office person that the first rate increase could be waived to compensate for the mistake if I called back when I got rate increase notice. I did call back but I told that it could not happen. I was pretty frustrated and felt like I had twice been taken advantage of. read more

We are in the process of moving between houses and need short-term storage for the transition. This Public Storage location is very conveniently located off Hwy 87 and Capitol Expressway. This was our first time booking a storage unit, and Mike (Manager) made the process of signing up very easy. He was great to work with, friendly, and very forthcoming with current promotions that ended up saving us a lot of money on the first month's rent ($1). Access to the facility is gated with individual access codes, and is very close to other active businesses (McDonalds, Capitol Chevron and Car Wash), so it definitely feels safer going in-and-out compared to other locations. read more

My storage unit along with some dozen others was burglarized sometime between Aug. 22 and Aug. 24. In fact management said it happened over a period of two days before they contacted me. They insist they're not liable, but when they claim they have security (gate codes, elevator codes, security cameras at both locations, motion sensors, etc.) how can this go unnoticed for so long and no one be caught? To make matters worse, they reduced the hours you can access your unit using a misleading claim of "technical difficulties." Further insult to injury just this morning they notified me they're increasing my rent after just a few months. Btw, the police that created my police report told me he has visited Public Storage many times due to burglary reports and recommended me moving my stuff ASAP to another storage management company. read more
