I have been using Public Storage for the past year and recently moved to a larger unit. I have to say the management and team is amazing! Patrick is unbelievably helpful. This company is not very user friendly! Their website is worse. You CANNOT talk to a live person.

It works, but is over-priced for what it is. Old building that is dirty & falling apart (plaster dust on 90% of stored items, roaches, etc) and the elevator barely works most times. Smells of urine in the basement and does not feel safe most times. Hours are very inconvenient but that is due to the junkies/homeless I am sure...sucks for me because of the hours I work. Definitely recommend looking elsewhere. Updated to add that the customer service is 110% and the aforementioned issues seem to be the company's problem to solve. read more

10020 Martin Luther King Jr Way S, Seattle, WA 98178 Given the covid-19 pandemic people across the world are struggling which has caused my brother to move out of his storage that he has had for over a year. It is a struggle to get people to help move normally but now it is impossible so he was not able to completely move all belonging out until the 2nd of April and now we are being charged $200.00 for a whole month. I have no problem paying a prorated amount I understand business but I also understand that the current state of the world has people doing things they would not ordinarily do like take everything out of storage and sell or clutter up the house. That was the reason we got the storage and kept it this long. This is just an attempt to see if we can come to some sort of prorated for the time used. I believe in creating a win win situation that everyone can walk away feeling ok and not feeling taken advantage of at the end of the day. read more

I sell at Pike Place Market and keep my inventor at this Public Storage and have for 7 months now. I come in and out 2-4 days a week two times each day I'm selling at Pike Place. I have never felt safe there due to the large amount of homeless people that make their units their home bass/home. It smells like pee around the main entrance and I have walked by used condoms for days before the staffed cleaned them up. Today I was leaving my unit on the 4th and got in to an elevator with a cross dresser. She must have been having a bad day and want to take it out on someone. She had a large suite case and didn't want to make room for me and my stuff I forced myself in the elevator and bumped her stuff with my stuff. This pissed her off and she started yelling at me as the doors closed behind use. Thing elevated in her had and she pulled out a taser on me and threatened me with it and made it spark twice. I'm pregnant and I keep yelling at her I was pregnant and she didn't care. I called 911. I found out from a PS employee and the police officer that this was not her first run in with another tenant. They can't just kick her out it can take a long time so there is a chance I could run in her again. On my floor alone I know of four people that live out of their until. Last night my floor smelled like puke. I'm forced to keep this as my storage but thought I would share my experience. I wish this was not a true story but it is!! read more

A lot of the homeless population that hangs out near the waterfront piers seem to use this location as a place to store their belongings. This wouldn't be a big concern except for the fact that I have witnessed two different people living out of their storage units. read more

I needed a place to store my daughter's things for ten days, due to a problem with her new apartment. The Public Storage staff at the downtown facility were really helpful, even steering me to a bigger unit that worked better and cost less! They made sure I knew how to use the access codes, gave me parking tips, etc. Two days later, I got a follow up call asking if everything had worked out OK, since I'd moved things in after hours, and reminding me of the rental details, so as to avoid an additional charge if the estimated storage time proved too short. Great place, great staff, great service! I defintely recommend them and will use them again if I ahve storage needs. read more

Service is great far better then any public storage I've rented from to date. The gentleman's at the front desk was very helpful and looks out for number one instead of giving me the large unit I asked for he politely asked how much more property I was bringing in I told him he found me a smaller unit with a much better price. I've had a unit here since last January and if you're looking for a clean, secure and small-business friendly storage place this is your spot! The office staff is usually there for help with any issues and always been super reliable and speedy about responding and fixing the issue. They've really gone out of their way for me a few times now! I just moved a few of my belongings into Public Storage, and it was an extremely quick, efficient check-in. The unit (10x20) wasn't as big as advertised, as there was a concrete column taking up a few square feet of space, but the price was right. The area has a lot of traffic and I can see it being a little sketchy, but the facility does seem well-supervised, so I'm not too worried. read more

We have been using this storage for about 10 years, transitioning from a very large unit to a medium size, and now to a small unit. Yes, downsizing can be a process. I have returned many times over the years to this storage location and have recommended it to all who have inquired of me for a recommendation for storage. I wish the place was open 24/7 or at least more than 13.5 hours per day, but Public Storage does have good customer service. The surrounding areas have been cleaned up a lot within the past two days. It's either Jay and his managers read the reviews left here, and/or people that walk down the stairs on a daily basis to go to the waterfront are complaining because of the drug dealers, pill takers, and the homeless in the vicinity. I've never had a problem with these types of people, but they do have a presence perhaps because it is Downtown Seattle. Anyway, the $1 rent for the first month is misleading. Insurance and a deposit had to be made totaling about $100. To be fair, perhaps I misunderstand the situation regarding the charges there. Regardless, it is not straightforward. Regardless, I recommend this storage for more long-term than short-term because it's probably slightly cheaper than the Vine Street Storage. Also Public Storage has at least two other locations within the city. You could always move. If you are strict as to the conditions of the storage facility that your positions are stored in, go to another one due to the presence of the homeless and drug-heads. I'm not too picky, and it's close to my work so it makes it more convenient. read more
