I was awful to Anna Karen. AWFUL. I was livid, insulting, and may have even been visibly shaking with rage, on an unused box kit return. She handled me like a boss - quiet, polite, calm. The kit I was returning "unused" had actually, unbeknownst to me, had a box removed from it, by someone who has now lost my friendship over this incident. I had been unable to completely open the outer packaging, because I have cartilage issues that substantially impair my upper body strength. But I wasn't the one moving, it was this former friend. I had left the kit with FF who, turned out, had squeezed her arm into the partially opened box, and had slipped one box out! FF then let me pick the kit back up the following week without telling me she'd done this!!!! I took the kit in, none the wiser until after Anna Karen fully opened it and counted the boxes inside. I stood there, wearing a (priceless?) deer-in-the-headlights look, stunned, like the idiot I was. I apologized on the spot, told her, "I was a b*tch, I am so sorry", took the kit, and left for the missing box. The missing box was not in a returnable condition, due to dogs. Fortunately, the kit packaging had not been damaged. I purchased a replacement box at another location near FF's place to replace it, and returned the kit with Anna. (I didn't have to go back to Anna's specific location for the refund, but I felt like she had earned seeing me, taken down the dozen pegs or so, over this.) Thank you for your patience and kindness, Anna Karen. I deserved neither. read more

I decided to move out because my rent increased from $127.00 to $180.00 with no explanation. I had one parking spot outside. That did not take up much space and it was not covered. Besides that, there was never anyone on the property to answer questions. The value is not worth the money. I found another storage place that offered 1/2 off for three months and the monthly rent is cheaper than what I was paying Public Storage!!! read more

Avoid this place. I seen a storage unit broken into 3 times this year and it was just the one next to mine. So it's not like I went looking for them. That's just the annoying little thing. Not something worth 1 star. But this is, I been double charged on a computer error on there part and when asked for a refund for half. They said they could only give $50 out of $177 back because according to them I was late and they remaining amount went to the late charges. But I was only late because there computer problems. (I had autopay on and that's why now I personally don't use it anymore.) Don't bother trying get ahold of the person who supposed to be at the office. That's a joke, every time I call during "business hours" nothing but a voicemail. Can't get ahold of anyone else, since that Information isn't provided. Also adding more to the locker cost after 4 months of being there is bullshit. Then trying to add another fee of $15 dollars for paying a week earlier to avoid your computer problems and getting hit with a late fee. You still get hit with a late fee and trying get ahold of the property "manger" is a joke. So if you are rich and don't care about your money store your prize junk here. Where just like a bad relationship your going be out of money and with a bunch of questions unanswered on how. read more

Company Policy is all about money/profits and no consideration or desire to retain renters. In less than two years my rent for a 10' x 30' went from $326 to $693. It's absurd!!! And right now they are advertising $302 a month for new renters. What??? Make it make sense. Worst business ever. Be wary and ask questions because they raise the rates 2-3 times a year once your in. read more

Rats!!!! We had our things in storage here for about 7 weeks and when we went to get everything out there was rat urine and feces over everything. Our couch, chair, mattresses, box springs, and TV box were covered in rat urine and feces and they ate through several things. You can even see their tracks left in our couch. We were absolutely appalled to find this and took dozens of pictures. When my husband confronted the on-site staff member he was simply handed a piece of paper with a number and told to file a claim. After talking to the claims inspector for Sedgwick, which is the contracting claim company for Public Storage, we were told there was a "sub-policy" for vermin when we signed the original contract. She informed me the MOST we would receive for our belongings that were damaged by these rats was $250!! Absolutely ludicrous and unacceptable. Do NOT place your things in this facility. read more

RATS/MICE We rented a unit on 4/7/19. To store almost all of our belonging as we where searching for a new house. We finally found and purchased our house and began to move in on 7/26/19. On Friday the 26th we went to our storage unit and opened it expected to see all our belongings my wife and have been able to purchase over the last ten years. Instead we got greeted by the stench of urine! Rodents turned the storage unit, that we pay public storage $341 a month for, into their own rodent hotel. Urine and feces covered a majority of all our soft surfaced belonging. Leaving them ruined. We immediately informed the front office worker who only said that's why we suggest you get insurance. And offered us eight paper towel squares and a small broom. We told him that they needed to get pest control out right away and he said he could not do that. We got their highest level of insurance but that only covers $5250. Which doesn't even cover our couch and four mattresses and box springs that we had stored with them. It looks like we are out over 22k with everything that is ruined. PLEASE do a simple google check on different news stories about PUBLIC STORAGE before you rent with them. So this doesn't happened to you. read more

My experience with Public Storage well let's just say it was not good . Apparently there had been a break-in one of many and I was locked out of my unit and gate access because why I don't know , property manager would give me little to no information only that until they're investigation was done I was not able to get into my unit . She said that an investigation along with the University Place Police Department had to be conducted before I was released access , meanwhile I have a car full of my belongings that needed to go into my unit and I had to drive around with all my stuff in my car for 2 days while they did so . Still no word , and no access . The whole situation was shady at best. I can say that as soon as I do get access again my stuff is coming out of that unit and I'm canceling my account. University Place Police Department said in their own words that this place was Notorious for break-ins and he wouldn't suggest having a unit here if it were him . That's pretty bad . I think I'll follow his advice and resume to exit . read more

I'll start by saying I've rented with this location for over 4 years and have had little to no issues within that time. I recently moved into an apartment and had let the rep at the desk know a few weeks prior to my moving in. February comes around and I forget to come in and cancel the storage unit on the 1st. I call the supposed property manager and let her know my situation and that I came in weeks earlier and just got caught up with work and wasn't able to make it in. (I was working 10+ days without a day off) She tells me she will reach out to the district manager and see if we can do anything and to try and make a payment if I could (I had $40 bucks to my name after just paying first, last and deposit on my new place which I told her but I still paid $20). Fast forward a few weeks later, I have heard NOTHING from anyone and just received a notice that they will be auctioning off my items this coming March. Even if you decided that I was responsible for February's rent, you lack the professionalism to reach out to a customer of 4 years and let me know. Actions speak louder than words. Your actions say you don't value your customers. Regardless of good standing or continuous business. Better hope you don't fall on hard times if you rent here. Will be telling everyone I can about my experience. Wish I could give 0 stars. read more

The site is clean, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the website is really easy to navigate. I have only two complaints and those complaints are about the company overall and not this site, which is why I gave the site a 5 star rating because the site itself and the staff couldn't be any better than what they already are. They were extremely helpful, they had everything completed and had me set up within minutes, and they made sure I understood everything about the policies, what the hours were, how to get in and out of the gates, and gave their best advice of things not to store (food, naturally, but also no scented candles because a pumpkin pie candle smells like food to a critter). I couldn't rate this particular site higher. What I dislike about the company in general isn't something they can do anything about, so I won't penalize them for corporate issues. read more

We just recently started renting a space & we were very pleased with our experience. We were greeted by Samantha who explained the different options, sizes, etc. Then she showed us the storage units so we could make a final decision on what was best for our needs. She was very professional & knowledgeable. She took us through all the required paperwork quickly & efficiently. STAY AWAY. I've had a storage unit with PS for 14+ months and used them previously with no complaints. I recently lost my wallet and didn't update auto payments with my new card. I fell behind and received notice of a lien being placed if payment wasn't received. This is the first time I've heard anything so I went online, made a payment and everything was fine. 3 days later I get an email stating today is my move out day. I called and spoke with the lady at PS and she stated my stuff was moved out of the storage unit last month. So now I am without my stuff and just paid a huge amount of money to keep my things in storage. I've researched the WA state laws regarding storage lines and disposals and none of the protocols were followed. Not even the protocol of PS was followed. I've contacted the district manager with no response. This is a terrible way to treat paying customers. TERRIBLE SERVICE. I will never rent from PS again read more

I went to rent and unit and the office was closed in the morning during business hours. I came back and the employee was in a personal conversation with someone and I had to wait for the conversation to be completed. The unit was dirty. I noted that it is not sealed and dirt blows in from the outside. Also if you check their policies they can raise rates whenever they want and historically the rates go up frequently and by a major increase. Based on the lack of professionalism, dirty units and uncertainty in when and how much rates will go up, I chose a local company to give my business to. read more
