I decided to contact company as they were open to my input, however, they were only able to give me a $20.00 dollar discount. So now I pay $334.75 that started in December. Gee that's still a $95.75 increase. Even the rental markets for apartments only go up 10%. I do not recommend this company as I still feel like they gouged me and took advantage. I was able to see less cost for similar storage than current pricing before I decided on Secure Space and I hope all company's don't do this. If I had known they would do this I would have chosen another, closer to me, storage unit. I feel like I'm locked in as getting stuff to storage was costly and to remove it will be also, so I guess I'm stuck. Customer service through company office is not consistent and what reflected at office is not always same as talking and securing on line. One has to follow up to guarantee pricing. I will compliment the office staff as they are sympathetic, helpful and personal and units appear secure. I'm not sure these 2 benefits are worth the $98.00 monthly increase. I do plan on getting my things removed ASAP but that's dependent on circumstances currently waiting upon. I can't wait to vacate and save $100. Per month. Ask questions and get contacts in writing and do not assume they will be careful with you through honesty and pricing.

I had just gotten a bigger unit for storage and left on vacation for three weeks, only to come back and find bite marks, fecal matter and urine stains on all of my items. I was told by staff that they were installing countermeasures to prevent the rats from coming into units, but mine was not given the same treatment, and the rats ended up using my storage unit as a toilet. Now it's just an overpriced waste of my finances. I can't wait to move!

The web rate is a special rate, and they increase your rate in 2 months - then I got another rate increase 5 months after that. My rate went from 160 to 192 and finally to 272 in 12 MONTHS - in a year - the rate went up 112$ !!! Of course people complain about these increases, but the locations all say it is "month to month" and we can raise the rate any time - and they do - believe me - more than one location has done this and the price increases make it clear Extra Space does not value its existing customers - they want new customers over and over - and do not want existing customers to stay. Of course, if you move from one unit to another you begin the entire process of price increases with the new unit. Extra Space does not even address this issue when you complain - just they are month to month and it is in the contract - it is clearly best to try another storage unit if you are storing over 3 months. It is a shame to have to do this - but people need to know about the increases as Extra Space will never tell you the truth. From experience - stay away from Extra Space.

I am very honest and fair and never just write a review that is 5 stars or 1 star because I am emotionally charged or anything. My hope is someone will see my review and have an honest view of what to expect. 2 days after my review of this facility the manager woman I have never seen before handed me an envelope with a smile on her face and said my lease is being terminated and I have till the first to get out. She said I had multiple violations accessing the property after closing where my gate code was used. I told her that was impossible because I am very vigilant about abiding by all the rules and I promised her there is nobody who can show a single piece of evidence backing that claim. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager; so I asked to speak to someone above her and she said that I was not allowed to speak to anyone above her but she would let them know I would like to speak to them, but not to get my hopes up because these decisions are almost never reversed. I said this feels very much like I'm being discriminated against and that I'm disabled and the unit is very important to me. I repeated that I never broke the rule and nobody ever mentioned me violating a rule to allow me to make sure I never did it again and she said I was seen in the parking lot past 10pm and that is considered a violation. Me making a phone call after leaving my storage before I drove to my next destination is the claim after she realized I never accessed the gate with my code after hours and that was a bogus claim. I cannot believe I am being kicked out because I didn't give them a 5 stars review. This is the most childish behavior and to smile in someone's face when you know you are making a decision that is going to make a persons life extremely difficult is so messed up. How someone can enjoy that moment is disturbing. I used to be a Forman working up on the light rail and even when I had to fire someone who definitely deserved it, I felt terrible delivering that news because I was causing unknown hardship for him. This woman looked like it's her favorite thing to do. Save your money and energy and go to a nicer place with a better staff. These people were the worst, and their units were horrible too. I suggest going to pearl street self storage if it's convenient for you. Thank people are very nice and the units are the best I've ever seen. We had a glitch in the credit card and it took them 18 days to send a letter to let us know ... and we were in the facility talking to them twice to get things settled and no one said we were overdue - which adds $100 to the bill btw.
