I rated 2 stars simply because when there were employees present, they were extremely nice and helpful. I only stayed here a few mon the because it just didn't suit my needs. Here are the positives: Clean location Conveniently located off the freeway Negatives: The hours of operation are horrible for anyone who has a job. When we rented, we were told they are open 0900-1800 everyday. They are not, they open at 0930-1800 Mon-Fri and 0930-1700 on weekends. There has never been a time when tweeters aren't inside the complex. I doubt they actually live there but it appears several of them are "sharing" a storage unit for their possessions. No one is ever working. I was told the office would be occupied every day it is opened. That is incorrect. The last 3 times I was there, there was no employee present. And no, they were not on a security walk. There were no vehicles, and I waited twice and looked for them. No one was around. They do not have a simple trash can anywhere and they lock the dumpster. There are no bathrooms that can be utilized by renters. I was forced to find another storage facility that fits my expectations. read more

This place isn't bad. We have an indoor storage here that is air conditioned over the summer. Upon signing up they give you 2 codes. One for the gate and one for the building (if you have indoor storage). You'd also need to input the gate code as you're making your way outside. I've honestly haven't memorized the code so I always have my phone with me with the code as I'm entering and exiting. The place is pretty clean. If you are hauling bulky things and need a cart, they have the carts locked up with a chain and you'd need to go to the front to unlock them (previous storage I was at didn't lock there carts so it was more convenient). I notice surveillance around the storage area and units which makes me feel like this place is watched over pretty good. No complaints over this place. I've been passing through at least once or twice a week to slowly put things in the storage and I haven't had a problem yet. Btw, this place closes at a certain time during the night. Meaning if you try to go past closing, you will not be able to pass the gate. read more

We had a reservation and show up with a full truck on moving day to find the office empty. the sign said they'd return an hour ago. we called the office a ton, called customer service just to be hung up on or transferred to no one. someone finally showed up just to tell us our unit is on the second floor but their elevators are broken and they have no dollies. Our stuff wouldn't fit up the elevator so we asked if we can have a first floor unit for our price since the one they promised is unreachable. the poor guy had no idea what to do so I finally got ahold of the sgv district manager denise after calling her nine times and she had no idea. she said she'd call her manager but I never heard back from her. so after hours we finally just went to another company Price Self Storage on foothill in azusa. they're super nice and gave us a wayyyyy cheaper price. read more

This place is great! Verna is the property manager and is the nicest person in the world! They recently did upgrades to this location. They painted all the gates and also upgraded the key pads. I've been here for 4 years and security has always been top notch. I was in an AC unit on the second floor so it's definitely a plus when moving during the summer. All in all great experience. Do not store here!!!! I was here for over a year and was paying more than $1, 000-1100 a month for two units, to store my equipment. Well about a month ago right before Christmas some management decided they wanted to evict me. Now at this point I have spent about $15,000 with them and you would think that they might show me a little gratitude or customer service. Wrong! The girls in the office were great they tried helping me out but the district managers and whoever is the upper management of those properties didn't want to own up and say they were wrong instead they continue to evict me. Do not go here go to security public storage in la puente because for the same size units I'm paying half the price and getting amazing customer service as well as the hours of operation are way better and all around better place to be. I wouldn't write this review if they didn't do me wrong and own up to their mistakes. They were going off of someone's word who had power but was never there. As well as trying to say I was using my unit too much when I was just storing my equipment and my equipment rotates in and out multiple times a day so it's not like I was running my business out of there but they just wanted to have any excuse when they just could have admitted they were wrong!!! Do not go here even employees say it's a rip off and the management is terrible if I could give a zero stars to the management I would and a five-star rating to the employees that actually do their job there! read more

My experience with Public Storage West Covina was very unpleasant and they were very unprofessional. My rental space was terminated by the district manager James Bangler without any phone call, message, or email . Apparently, according to " video footage" my small ESA Jesse, relieved himself in the elevator. Without any notification of this accidental mishap that occured on May 19,2023, Fri, I tried to access my storage unit on Sunday May 21, and could not access with my code. See front desk was posted. When I asked the employee why? She handed me a piece of post it with Mr. Banglers telephone number. When I called to get info as to why not able to enter my unit, he stated I was being terminated due to my ESA pooping in the elevator and a customer stepped on it and and smeared it all over the utility cart. I was with my ESA animal in that elevator and he did not do what he's accused of. No warning no notification . I had 1 and only 1 time to return access and vacate my unit. I paid up to the end of the month with 7 days left and was not able to access my work tools or equipment and cost me 3 days of work and did not even refund me for the remainder of the month . They kept my property hosta ge and the loss of my job. read more

The only good thing about this place is Verna. Other than that, it's a piece of crap. My door to my storage came off the springs, and it took the. 25 days to get it fixed. I asked for credit for the days I didn't have access to my storage, and they credited me $25!!! This place is horrible, and customer service is even worse. It's way overpriced as it is. Speaking to customer service doesn't get you anywhere. They tried to put it off on the property manager, but not them. It's a shame they try to throw shade on them. Verna is good at her job and very respectful and professional. I would highly not recommend this place, especially this location in West covina. It's cheaper elsewhere. Also, they close to early. You would think that with the price you pay, there would be better security and longer hours to access your storage and it's not. Moved our stuff in here only to be robbed a couple weeks later. Around 15 units were broken into. I was told it was allegedly a man who had been living in a storage unit and was enraged when he came to find the locks on his unit had been changed so he was unable to get in to sleep so he went on a rampage and pried open multiple units. All other tenants stated nothing had been stolen, but we had many valuable items stolen. Our unit was in the building, on the second floor, and we had even purchased a secondary lock, thinking that our items would be secure. The cameras they have aren't even good enough quality to determine who the culprit was. So why have them? I don't know. But I will be moving my things out of here as soon as I can. On top of being robbed I have seen homeless people coming in and out of the building many times. One woman with a shopping cart was even smoking inside the building. And now the first floor of the building has a putrid smell, as if something has died in there. The employees believe it's rotting food in someone's unit, probably another homeless person who lives there if you ask me. I moved from out of state to stay with family until I found a place. We used this storage area because it was close to where we were staying. I wanted a inside unit because I thought it would provide better protection for my items. My unit is on the second floor. In the time I have had this storage area which has been over 6 months the elevator has been broke several time. This most recent time the elevator has not been in operation for several weeks. the first time I asked about it, letting the know I was moving large items when the elevator would be fixed the lady in the office actually shrugged her shoulders. next time they told me 1 week out. next time the next day.. anyway, no access to the elevator, no calls to residents who had upstairs units apologizing for their severe inconvenience, nothing but a call to remind you to pay so no extra fees are added. When confronted about the lack of accessibility they said well you can use the stairs. ( again if you are handicapped there is not accessible option. perhaps she did not understand that! . They do not value their customers, Customer service is horrible, rent increases. I pay every month onetime but if I need to use the storage much longer I will move to a storage area that has some form of customer service and integrity in the service they are providing. Raises your rates at any time, more than 50.00 per month extra !!! We moved in to a large unit and its seemed nice and clean, but getting a 20% raise in rates within 4 months was totally unexpected...And the only reason was that their corporate offices felt like doing it, and it allows them to raise it any time they feel like it, at their whim, and per their contract...After feeling a bit 'baited' I mentioned that I would be looking for a better place that had stable rates in the area. They didn not even flinch to try an keep me as a customer, telling me that it is fine and just give them notice...absolutely no customer concern or service or care in the world about keeping a customer (on a large and costly storage unit)...just be aware that it's not like a 10 or 15 dollar raise, mine was over 50.00 per month, with a one month notice. This company has the worst customer service representatives. I have been a renter for several years. Every 4-6 months, they have increased my rent. I continued to pay because I had valuable and sentimental items that needed to be stored. When I rented the unit, I was assured that the facility was safe and secure and had complete video surveillance. A couple of months ago, there was an attempted break in to my unit. When I asked to see the video of my unit, I was told that the cameras did not reach that area of the facility. The employee who worked at the facility was wonderful, but when I attempted to contact the regional manager to advise her of my concern regarding the surveillance videos, she casually dismissed my concerns, stating that the video surveillance covered "enough" of the facility to see people who walked around. Because of the attempted break in, the door to my unit could not be opened and I couldn't even verify if anything was actually stolen. A work order was placed for the repair of the door and I was supposed to be notified once it was complete so I could confirm whether or not anything was taken. An entire week passed before I called to ask if it had been completed. It had been completed and no one called to let me know. No attempts were made to apologize for the lack of communication or the lack of access to my own unit that I paid for! Fast forward to last month. I intended to move out of my unit because I purchased a new home. When I arrived at the facility at 6:30pm, the gates were completely locked. There was a small sign stating that due to covid19, access hours had been changed. There were no notifications sent to renters to advise of this change! I received an email providing me with my access code, but nothing explicitly announcing a change of access hours. Due to this change in hours, I was unable to move my belongings out when I had planned. It is impossible for anyone who is still working during this pandemic to get in and out of the facility before it's shut down (6pm). Both my husband and I have spoken to two different representatives who have informed us that Public Storage does not prorate rental fees and that the entire month's rent would be due. It is obvious that Public Storage has no qualms about taking advantage of their paying customers during a very difficult time. Please look elsewhere if you need a storage facility! This storage steals your money after you move out of your storage unit. I've been battling with them to get my refund. I moved out of my storage so that I wouldn't have to pay for the month of August, yet they still charged me after. Now the Corporate headquarters in Glendale are being bureaucratic and instead of issuing the refund are mailing a check which takes "10-15" business days. They have no shame withdrawing from your credit credit card, yet they won't refund as promptly as possible. Don't get Public Storage; they're Corporate Raiders. read more

I rented a storage for a little over 7-8 months. Everything was fine, until I had to move out. I had talked to a lady in the office a couple days before I moved my stuff out. I notified her that I would be coming down from Northern Ca to empty my storage she said it was okay to check in the office before I left to confirm my account would be closed. I get there Friday 09-18-15 evening to make sure everything was fine since I hadn't been in town for 6 months! Long behold I go to unlock the lock they had provided me with and I couldn't enter my key! I called the front office and they knew right away what was wrong. It turned out it's a prank that teenagers have been doing?! They put glue in your lock and you can't unlock it. I asked the gentleman in the front desk what happens now considering I drove down from Northern CA just to empty my storage....... He said you can call a locksmith to unlock it for you, we can do it but it will take 3-4 weeks for a fee of $20.00 or you can get a drill and do it yourself!!! I wanted to cry........ I actually did when everything was said and done. The gentleman said he would talk to his supervisor hoping they would come in durning the weekend but he doubted it. He emailed them, called them and they didn't respond to him. I called and left messages to the manager asking him to please help me. Today is September 24th 2015 and till this day I haven't heard back from him. I couldn't wait any longer since I had to be back to Northern Ca by Monday the 21st. I didn't have any other option but to call a locksmith.... It cost me $130.00 to unlock my storage. I feel very disappointed about the whole situation its money I didn't have and I couldn't afford to pay. I almost feel they intentionally did it themselves.... I asked the gentleman in the front desk what had they done to secure the facility since there had been 5 other units affected by the same "prank". He said they upgraded there surveillance system in the elevator but to me it looked like it was the same one from when before I left! This place needs someone in the office during the hours they say they are open. I have come here 2 months in a row to pay my storage and both times I've had to wait 15 or more minutes just to pay. After moving my things from storage in the middle of the month when i came to check out i was told i had to return the lock on my unit but i could not get in the gate with the code i was given. Ive been here 20 minutes now the sign says they are open til 6:00. Im trying to return the keys and the lock today because tomorrow is the 1st again and they will charge me for the month.
