She is patient, caring, and lovely to work with. However, the 3 stars is for how she handles money. Some appointments, time would "start" when the actual tattooing began, other times she would start when she was putting the stencil on me. It was not consistent. Angela says touch ups are free, welp... they aren't. I felt I was lied to so she could charge me more. My advice, CLARIFY with her when time begins, and CLARIFY if touch ups are free or not. Have these conversations so you aren't caught off guard when she charges you another $300 for the hour it took to put on the stencil, an hour that you may have been told you wouldn't be charged for... read more

I promised myself after going through a couple trying experiences, that when I made it through them I would get a tattoo to signify the strength it took to survive it all. During that time period I began researching woman tattoo artists in the NYC area trying to find someone that inspired me and would be able to fit the aesthetic I was going for. Angela stood out right from the beginning. When things settled in my life I made my appointment for a consult with Angela. We talked and I explained what I was trying to represent and we bounced ideas off each other. It felt very collaborative and like she was helping me figure out the feelings I wanted to convey in my tattoo. It was a wonderful experience. I sent some images to her and she then took them and created something so beautiful. The day of my tattoo appointment she also helped me chose a spot on my arm that would suit the design and also that would be right for me. First off I can tell you that I have many small low grade tattoos, when I finally wanted to do something big, I went to Angela for a consult when she worked at a shop close to me! I showed her the pic and she was thrilled because it was Japanese Traditional and she loves the challenge as this style has soooooo many rules and difficulty! When I showed up for my appt., she had used her master artistic skills to create something I was in awe of! She went above and beyond to create my entire back to be a masterpiece! I always get people wanting to take pictures with me but not really me lol! With my back! It's beyond words! We are now working on my left sleeve that she totally used her creative artistic mind and years of tattooing skills and knowledge to create a sleeve that is beyond belief! It's so cohesive to my back piece and once done we will continue working until I have a full Yakuza! For those who don't know what that is, google it! It's extremely hard and soooooo many rules to follow in tradition and this lovely lady knows her talent and has worked along the best and also been tattooed herself by the best! I will not trust anyone else with my skin! Over the years I have gotten many small tattoos by inadequate artist! As they say, young and dumb! But now in my later years, I know quality and perfection! I will also mention, mistakes made in the past, she can and will cover with ease as my back piece contains 5 that cannot even be detected! I say go big or go home, but if your looking for a small fine piece she can also do that to perfection! In my life I always say, PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION!
