I came here based on the stellar Yelp reviews and the masterful work I saw online done by Andreana. If you have time check out her practically portraits on skin of Shakespeare, Dorothy, Jesus, Lemmy as well as her other tremendous work. Upon seeing what she can do to represent real character and people, she seemed like the right choice to go to get my newest piece. I chose a clip from the move "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" (picture shown). Every character looks so spot on and beautiful. Eli Wallach, Lee Van Cleef, and Clint Eastwood's true images jumping out of my skin. I couldn't be happier with the work! My piece was a rib piece which is one of the more painful areas of the body to do. Andreana was super helpful getting me through the rough areas. Very patient, very nice, and super professional. I went in on Monday evening for a consultation and met Andre Juliani. I had two ideas for tattoos that I wanted. We talked through them both and on his guidance I decided to go with a watercolor style cardinal on my upper ribs. He told me he didn't have much experience with watercolor but that he wanted to challenge himself and was confident he could do it. I set my appointment for the coming Friday and left a reasonable deposit. Friday (today) rolls around and I go in for my appointment. The studio is bright and clean (I could smell the rubbing alcohol as soon as I sat down which was reassuring to me). Andre showed me the drawing he made which looked perfect. He added in a few splashes of color that weren't in the original picture in order to add some extra interest and context to the tattoo. The tattoo took about an hour and a half to complete and although my arm was falling asleep from holding it over my head, I was very comfortable. He is a courteous, clean, kind artist and I truly appreciated the work he put into my piece. It came out beautiful and much more personal than the original picture I brought him! I will absolutely recommend this place and Andre to my friends. Love it!!! read more

My daughter and I came here while on vacation. We read the reviews and thought we would have a great experience. We were walk-ins because we had no way to leave a required deposit to secure an appointment. Andre was the only available artist. In the beginning, he was friendly and helpful. He did my tattoo first. But, upon completion of my small piece he informed us he had an appointment waiting and that we would have to come back another time to do my daughter's tattoos. We had to rearrange our vacation plans because he wasn't up front about his available time that afternoon. We returned two days later. In trying to ensure my daughter's tattoo was placed correctly, he seemed to become impatient with us because it required three attempts to get it right. He also did not seem to appreciate my asking questions along the way about what was happening. After he finally finished all three of our tattoos, we realized that he had made mistakes. The lines were not even in places and some delicate elements of my daughter's tattoos were missing. While he didn't completely mess up any of our tattoos, they all had flaws. He also charged us $120 each for two pieces that were definitely more of an $80 job. They were only a couple of inches long, simple, and black...and not even his own design. We did not get a good value for the money we paid and it was not the experience we hoped for. read more

As soon as you walk in and you feel the calm zen atmosphere (incense and Hindu god statues assist in this) you should happily know you're in good hands. The place has an amazing energy. Andreana who is the owner, does an amazing and graceful job with assisting you through the whole process. She may seem intimidating at first but once you realize she is a lovely Italian imported artist/ yogi/strong woman, you will be at ease and trust her guidance whether you are a first timer or a regular, and she has the clientele and awards (her black/gray work is divine!) to prove it! The place is kept very clean which is obviously important. You will have music and two big tanks of happy fish to keep you company as she performs her magic. I've been meaning to write this review for well over a year now!!!!! I first found Supernova tattoo online while searching for an artist to work on my Wizard of Oz themed sleeve. I knew that I really wanted a portrait, so when I saw Andreana Verona's work I knew she would be perfect for what I wanted! The shop is spacious, clean and very professional. As my tattoo is a work in progress, I've spent a lot of time at Supernova , I always have a great experience and could spend hours talking with Andreana. There are no "rock n roll" attitudes here!!! Nobody should feel unimportant or intimidated when going somewhere to get tattooed. Supernova is one of the very few tattoo places that I've felt totally relaxed and welcome every time I've been there! I have been getting tattooed for around 8 years now in both Europe and the United States and I have to say this is the best place I've been! It would be hard to convince me to go to another artist for any future work. My tattoo is full color and more than I dreamed it would be! I had wanted to get my septum pierced for a very long time, but having a huge phobia of needles, I would always chicken out. Also, a septum piercing just seemed like it would be very painful. I decided to go on a bit of a whim last night so that I couldn't think about it too much. I walked in and spoke with Alex and told him what I was looking for (ring on the smaller side, more fitted to my nose, and needed to be able to flip it up for work). He picked out the perfect size ring and then brought me into a piercing room. I started to panic a little bit and tried to relax. He then got out all the tools and marked where to put the ring. And then, this is the most amazing part: he put the clamp on my nose, and the needle was through it a second later. I felt NOTHING. seriously...I was more in shock by the lack of feeling anything, than the process of getting it pierced itself. Not a single pinch or prick. The closest thing I can explain it feeling like is air. Seriously. He was THAT good. Also, the pricing was really reasonable. $40 total for the piercing. Can't beat that. Still blown away by how quick, easy, and painless it was! Definitely coming back to see Alex should I decide to get anything else pierced - this guy is AMAZING! read more

I got my ear pierced here with Alex. I got 2 new holes in my lobe but they were side by side instead of up and down. He had never done or seen anything like that but he gave me some great advice and precautions which assured me that he knew what he was talking about. He talked about the spacing and maybe the back of the earring bothering me but I decided to go ahead with it. I had my own earrings to pierce and he was kind enough to clean them and use those (I like studs but I HATE studs that have the metal wrapped about the stud so I ordered other ones). Came here on a whim because I decided I wanted a tattoo. I checked yelp to find tattoo shops in my area and this shop popped up with all 5 star reviews. I called ahead to make sure they accepted walk ins, which they did. Upon arrival I was greeted by the owner and the tattoo artist I had spoke with over the phone. I explained to the tattoo artist what I wanted done and the location I wanted the tattoo; it took me a while to pick out the letters I wanted to get and the tat artist was patient with me. While he drew up my tattoo I was giving a consent waiver to sign. I was kind of shocked when I was giving the waiver because this being my 8th tattoo I never had to sign a waiver but I appreciated it. Once the tat artist showed me the stencil for the tat their a few changes I wanted made, he made the changes with no problems or attitude. Once it was time to begin the tattoo the artist made me feel comfortable. The entire took about 10 minutes to complete, I was charged $130 for the tattoo, I felt that was a bit much for a 10 minute tattoo but you get what you pay for; my tattoo came out great...... read more

This is seriously the best tattoo shop experience I've ever had. The place is really clean, and my tattoo artist Sheen(sp?) is incredibly talented. He is the only artist I've been to that sketched right on my arm and then started tattooing without using a stencil. This place lives up to what everyone else has said in previous posts. For my first tattoo I spent literally months scouring over Facebook and yelp reviews and stalking websites of tattoo places. Originally I didn't want to go all the way out to Queens but once I saw the reviews for this place, I decided the trip was worth it. I was nervous about them only taking cash and not giving prices over the phone but the worries were unfounded. I got a tattoo of my dog's paw print on my foot, about the size of a silver dollar (maybe a little bigger) , and paid $100 which I thought was very reasonable, also they gave me the price before I got the tattoo which I really appreciated. Adriano was very friendly and made sure that he and I were on the same page 100%. He did a great job making a sketch from the print I brought in and it came out exactly how I wanted. He was also very straightforward with me about what would and would not look good and talked me through the whole process. If there's one thing I appreciate, especially in New York, it's people that are straightforward and honest. Also, Adriano was very nice when I started getting a little woozy half way through my tat and didn't mind stopping when I asked. He also told my boyfriend that he could come over and sit with me while I got it done, but my bf is one of those people that passes out when he sees blood so that didn't happen. Eventually I plan to get an addition to my tattoo and I won't even consider going anywhere else. This was totally worth the hour long bus ride to Queens. Also, the shop (though a little hard to find) is very clean which was very important to me. Tl;dr: Supernova is where you want to get your next tattoo. read more
