I had heard about the Butcher Market but had never had the chance to visit until one afternoon when a friend and I decided to stop by for lunch. My friend, who is always thinking of his dog's happiness (buys his doggie bones here). It was suggested that I try a sandwich from the lunch menu. I opted for the French dip, and it was delicious. At first, I was hoping for a turkey club, but unfortunately, they couldn't add bacon to it. Despite that small hiccup, the experience was wonderful. The staff were not only pleasant but also genuinely welcoming, which made me feel at home. The market itself is clean and well-organized, adding to the comforting atmosphere. He wants to set you straight "what I told you" rather than listen. The best cut of beef I've bought in *years* - possibly forever. (Sorry! Forgot to take a pic!) Some of my family were driving down from VA for a day visit and I needed a flank steak for my go-to beef recipe. More often than not, Harris Teeter doesn't have that in stock, and I'd wanted to check out The Meat House anyway, so I paid them a visit. I asked for a flank steak and was told by one of the two gentlemen there (regrettably, I neglected to get his name) that he'd have to cut that for me, but it would take only a couple of minutes. So, yeah, fresh-cut, not pre-cut and wrapped in cellophane. Needless to say, the meal turned out to be a *fabulous* success. I don't eat a ton of beef, but I took a look at their chicken while I was there and will definitely head there for all of my meat purchases going forward. read more

I've been wanting to try the sandwiches here for a while. I got the BBQ brisket and took it home. I was so so sad when I realized they forgot the coleslaw on top. The brisket was incredibly delicious, so tender and so much flavor. The coleslaw would have it put it at fantastic. You also get a bag of chips, pickle, and a York peppermint patty. A little pricey for a sandwich , so I'd come again for lunch for a splurge. The store also has some great options and cuts of meat. I'd come back to come shopping to make a special dinner. read more

Very disappointed. Heard great things about their steak quality and love Faroe Island salmon. Had family in town so decided to splurge on some ribeyes and salmon but was short on time so called in an order to pick up. When I got there it took 2 or 3 minutes to get waited on which gave me time to check out the steaks and salmon in the case, they looked fantastic. When I got home and opened everything up I found they had given me 4 wore out tail pieces of salmon, nothing like what was in their display case, obviously dumping their leftover junk pieces since I wasn't there to see. The ribeyes were decent but also much fattier than anything I had seen on display. So basically don't order over the phone or online, make sure your are there in person if you want a decent cut of meat or fish. read more

Ordered delivery through Yelp but did not receive accurate order. I had to then call GrubHub who was supposed to deliver my order because employees were contentious and blamed everything on the delivery driver My delivery person allegedly did not get my order correctly according to the two women at this Butcher's Market location. I called the Butchers Market to find out what went wrong but they answered the telephone and the first female employee said she knew nothing about my order but blamed everything on the delivery driver. She then put me on hold and the second female who said she was a manager came on line and also blamed everything on the GrubHub driver. Neither female was in fact a manager. More lies. Despicable experience at this location today. Very disorganized Butchers Market at this location which bungled the order since it is their responsibility to insure my order is correct and put in the delivery bag with an accurate printed receipt, napkins and eating utensils. This whole transaction was bungled by lazy employees at Butcher's Market that had one job to do and got it wrong. Then there is the prevarication when they were caught in their lies with evidence they screwed everything up because they are lazy liars who can't do their job. They blamed the poor delivery driver who just picked up the order they gave him and he has nothing to do with ingredients, cooking, preparation of the food or packaging the order in the bag with a printed receipt. Owner was inconveniently not available for customer complaints. Serious problems here at this location which turned into a total fiasco of lies. They said no one gets to speak to the owners when customers have complaints. Don't buy anything from this location because they are contentious and you can't trust them at all ! Dishonest employees at this Butcher's Market can't be trusted at all and lied when they were caught slacking. Do not reccomend this place. If both employees will lie to their customer and then blame the delivery driver who only picks up they were supposed to get right before he arrives to pick up the correct order, then maybe good help is hard to find during COVID-19. read more

Had an excellent experience with Linda and the new catering service The Butchers market is offering! You'll find the info on their main page, I was contacted within 24 hours of my submission, even though it was Christmas. It was a fairly large order, we did a taco bar style night and I asked they provide 50-100 servings of ground beef/taco meat, shredded chicken and carnitas, only 3 days before the event. Linda communicated via phone and email the entire time and made the stressful details of planning a large event much easier for me to handle! The food arrived hot and ready! The carnitas was our favorite, although it was all very tasty. It was a kids friendly event and the taco bar was a hit! I will be using this service for all my future events and catering needs. Based off of all the positive reviews my boyfriend and I decided to stop in today for lunch sandwiches. We were instantly impressed when we walked in by the beautiful cuts of meat and variety of items in the store. We didn't order any cuts of meat or buy anything besides sandwiches, so this review is for the sandwiches alone. We approached the back of the store where people were ordering but didn't see anywhere to specifically order sandwiches. Customers were standing around waiting and workers would call "Who's next?" It was a little confusing because there was no clear line and it was hard to tell how long others had been waiting. When we finally determined it was our turn to order, I stepped up and ordered the sandwiches. We were told it would be a few minutes. It took about 5 minutes to get my sandwich and roughly another 5ish minutes before my boyfriends was completed. All in all, it probably took us 30 minutes to order and receive our food. Honestly, we weren't impressed and the sandwiches weren't that great. My boyfriend ordered the Spicy Korean Pork sandwich and the bread was mush from all the sauce. This place has great reviews so I'll definitely go back to check out their meats. The ordering system just seems very disorganized. I knew this place was pricey so had been avoiding it until now. What I hadn't known was just how pure and delectably simple but tasty their to-go sandwiches and pasta salads are. Ordered the roast beef sandwich and grabbed the Mediterranean pasta salad, since everyone else was doing that at lunch, lol. A guide to meat cuts adorns the wall of the Butcher's Market. In the bottom right corner is a bison, acting large and in charge, head down, feet off the ground and running, determined to plow down anything in its path. The various bison cuts are labeled on his charging body. The other five animals including beef, poultry, lamb, pork, and fish, are all in stationary poses. All except for that charging buffalo, full of energy and determination, and no added homones-ever. He's the one I'm looking for at the Butcher's Market. There were plenty of steaks and exotic meats including camel but, I didn't find my bison steak. My bison rib-eye to be exact. Unfortunately, my buffalo must have outrun the grim reaper from the Butcher's Market. Thankfully for me, he didn't outrun the grim reaper from Whole Foods but that's a different review. Anyway, I was slightly disappointed to find that they did not carry bison steaks, especially after seeing him in full charge mode on the guide to meat cuts. Ground bison? Yes. Bison steaks? No. Regardless, it's a great place to stop if you're preparing a meal for your special someone. The store was filled with goodies for Valentine's Day including chocolate-covered strawberries and various gifts for Lovey. You can pick up meat, pre-seasoned, pre-cut, oven-ready vegetables like sweet and red potatoes or asparagus, a bottle of wine, and even desserts like bon-bons, Chapel Hill toffee, gelato or freezer jam if you're feeling creative. There is also a pasta section with plenty of varieties to choose from. And, you'll find a decent selection of specialty items including scented wood chips for your smoker. Came here to the Cary store only because the sides I wanted were sold out at the Holly Springs store. Tried to review on the site but was told the reCAPTICHA wasn't entered correctly. To be clear, there was none I could enter and I have to wonder if because the rating was so low. Now to the review. I ordered the bacon cheddar burgers but hold on!!! Three of us ate them and no one could taste any bacon at all. The cheddar was on the skimpy side but at least in some bites it could be tasted. There are a lot of nice selections like the prime rib and the lobster roll. Since I am a seafood fanatic I ordered the lobster roll. It was wonderful. It cost about $15 plus tax and came with a bag of chips. The price was fair. The lobster was generous and fresh tasting. I also liked the bun. Now, the reason I gave four instead of five stars is I did not like the pick up line. I had to wait in line for a sandwich which was ready. There should be a pick up shelf. Due to covid, I could not cut to the front and grab my grub. All and all, I loved my lobster sandwich and would like to try some of the other sandwich styles. read more

There are marinated mushrooms, veggies & some pastas make w lobster or squash but the highlight is the meat case filled with cowboy steaks (avg 3lb bone-inribeye is my personal fave), dry aged ny strip, tri-tip, multiple marinated varieties of pork/chicken/beef and then the exotic meats like lamb shank, osso bucco, alligator, ground camel & kangaroo I've gotten the cowboy steaks and grilled them a few times, i can never go wrong with those. I can personally say the marinated steak tips (signature flavor) and the "pork wings" are two of my favorites. No pigs don't have wings, it's a shank shaped similar to a wingette. you've never had pork so tender. If you can't get it here, including spices, rubs & marinades, lump charcoals and sauces it's not to be had. read more

The poor manager in the store was left trying to explain why, but the bottom line is that whatever general manager or corporate manager decided to change computer systems completely botched this up. We arrived and could not use the gift card. They sold us a gift card, but then wouldn't honor it because of their decision to change computer systems. Nice. Oddly enough, one of the best choices here is a vegetable! The emerald green semi-spheres of Brussel sprouts are a favorite in my family even with people who are brassica-phobic eaters. Seriously, when COVID hit, and I couldn't get these for Easter, my family was bummed (it was a special request from out-of-state). I just got a pound of them for tonight's dinner and am so glad to have them back on the table. Gently caramelize the cut side in a pan of butter and olive oil. Cover and let them finish cooking a few minutes. Then drizzle some balsamic on them for a few moments and put the lid back on. Finish with a splash of tasty sweet vinegar (white balsamic or rice vinegar). Don't overcook them - you want to keep them that vibrant green that just is eye-poppingly beautiful (the picture is what they look like at the market AND on the plate). I could become a vegetarian just because of how good and simple these are. You cannot get them any better in a store or restaurant. SERIOUS YUM HERE! Now onto the meats. You can't go wrong with their signature sirloin tips. They are a treat whether you are trying to impress guests at a holiday dinner or just want an epic piece of beef on the plate. Must try. The pièce de résistance is in the frozen section, though. You can find a cornucopia of wild game, specialty cuts, and gourmet sausages. Since they are frozen, you can just plop them in your freezer until you can find the appropriate diners to enjoy your entree. I had the duck with foie gras and sauterne wine, and they were tasty and worth every bite. The service is spot-on, too. I had a slight issue several years ago with pork belly not being exactly as I wanted it, but the butcher made it more than right - made it 1000x right, and it was outstanding.
