Yesterday, we stopped by this Publix to try to pick up a King Cake, the delicious Mardi Gras King Cake from New Orleans. Not all Publix stores carry it, and you have to hunt it down once a year. We have only been successful one time in finding it in the last 6 years that we have tried. It was at another Publix store. We were in this area today and decided to try this store. No luck! We have shopped at this Publix in the past and always were pleased with the way they ran the store, which to us meant they didn't run out of the products we needed. We couldn't give them 5 stars because Publix prices are always on the high side among grocery stores.

The burn immediately after it happened

The moron who placed the boundary for the auto lock carts was dropped on their head as a child. I parked on the perimeter of the Publix parking lot and needed to go around a small curb to get to my car. I was nowhere near exiting the parking lot. My cart locked a fair distance from my car, and I was forced to push the cart against the lock. Confused, I assumed something was stuck in the wheel because there was no reason to lock the cart while I was in the parking lot. Down and as I touched, the wheel was immediately badly burned on my hand. I spoke to the manager, Yazo, who understood the issue of having the auto lock border through the middle of the parking lot... There are several flaws with this. I was offered burn cream.. but no other compensation with regard to the groceries that had to sit in my car while I waited for the manager to become available and then walk him out and show him what had happened. The lack of intelligence here is beyond me... I understand needing to secure the carts, but drawing the inside of the parking lot makes no sense, and I was hurt as a result .

Usually shopping here isn't an issue but the fun times of meeting the most disgusting condescending manager Arthur, the meat manger at store 1017. Not only did his staff member Thomas, argue with me about a product I know they have, I had to involve another manager named Chris just to get Thomas to at least ask someone else named Richard who also has no clue and decided to join in with his nasty attitude, then comes Arthur, the meat manger of the department. It all makes sense now why these teams members had such poor service. Arthur walks in with his condescending and antagonist attitude escalating the situation more, tries to then project his disgusting attitude on me. I fully understand why he has been passed over for promotion. Arthur, if this is how you treat customers I can't understand why you're even a manager, considering you have zero de-escalation skills, considering your staff started it and you just couldn't wait to join in. Oh and this is the MANAGER In CHARGE for the night. DISGUSTING. I wonder why his picture is missing

We don't visit this Publix as frequently as we used to but they always have great deals. Staff is usually friendly and willing to help. They added a new self checkout too which has helped speeding up the checkout process when it gets packed. Overall we really like this publix and the selection of products they offer

I enjoy shopping at this Publix. The staff is always friendly and it's always clean and spacious! I have another location closer to me but prefer to drive 2 extra minutes to get to this one since the other one isn't as nice. There's plenty of parking in the plaza. As for checking out there's 2 lanes for self check out and 2 with a cashier.

You guys should be ashamed of yourself in this economy that working families spend half a day of work buying extra expensive meat from you and almost a quarter of the package is meat membrane, is like if you as a company is making fun of customers, try harder there's absolutely no need a huge company like Publix deceived us like this , almost forget , they folded the meat so all you can see in the outside a is juicy, fresh and red cut .

It's near Costco, where I get gas and in the same shopping plaza as Paul's, where I like to get bread.

The same thing happens with the orange bags and strawberries -- half of them are rotten. Sometimes they have deals like 3 for $10, but all of them are already bad. If you go to the candy section, you have to be careful because some products even have mold on them. The ham they pre-slice in the deli section turns slimy within two days. The quality is terrible overall, except maybe for canned products. The customer service is also awful. Nobody seems interested in helping you, except for maybe one or two employees who work there. Honestly, it would be better if they closed that place and opened something else instead. It's unbelievable that even though I live so close, I have to drive all the way to Publix in Sunny Isles just to buy groceries.

This North Miami Beach / Sunny Isles location would not rank among my favorite locations. First off, the good: - Staff were really nice. So, so nice, including to the incredibly obnoxious, entitled, Orthodox family shopping at the same time as us, who would certainly have tried my patience. - The store is open until 11 p.m. -- the only reason why we ended up there after our late, delayed flight. Nothing else was open. - There are some organic produce offerings on offer, and some offerings that would be harder to find in our neck of the woods like flan and mango or coconut yogurt. The less-than-good: - Prices for many items were unreasonable for the quality. This is from a New Yorker who lives on the UWS. - Produce seemed to be quite limited in range and of lesser quality than what we are used to. We purchased some essentials for the time being, but I think we're going to have to hit up a Whole Foods or Publix tomorrow to grocery shop properly.

Well seasoned and juicy. *5 stars Made a fresh juice- beets/ orange/ginger... SO YUMMY and affordable *5 stars The sides lack in flavor. Very basic and dry. red crema potato with garlic (dry and flavorless) Plantains (over cooked and dry) Pumpkin (no flavor but was scooped right) Veggies (soggy over cooked no flavor) Mashed potatoes (lumpy and was not tasty) Spaghetti and meatballs - yuck. I bought this meal back as it tasted like water. Basically no sauce or flavor. Meatballs are sad and I was really unhappy with this meal. The manager was not happy that I returned this food. I asked for another chicken as that was actually good. She said no I could get meatballs and a side. I asked for double mash. So in the end 4 meatballs with mash. It was lackluster to say the least. The chicken is what had me come back a 2nd time. But again the sides sucked and I think this will be my last time visiting that cafeteria. The juice was great from them.

Slightly less variety of products due to smaller space? Sure. But still more than enough. Parking is on the first floor and is generally smooth traffic flow unlike some other Publix parking lots. There are elevators, escalators, and stairs up to the store, but 50-50 chance one of the escalators is out of service. There is no way to cut through from the parking to the stairs without walking around the outside of the building and through a crowded bus stop, so the stairs are more convenient for pedestrians. The stairs entrance leads to a small terrace with cafe tables overlooking downtown Surfside. If you're visiting the beach and don't want to invest a small fortune in lunch, grab a chicken tender Pub Sub from the deli, good as always. Skip the seafood department. Not unique to this location. Seafood from Publix just isn't the quality it used to be... and there are so many places in South Florida to buy fresh local catch. Staff in the store, including the pharmacy, are generally helpful and friendly. And everything's usually clean and bright. All in all, reliable place to find what you need.

It easily became a relatively frequent spot for me to pick up essentials. It is in a residential area, so it was never very busy. However, given that this market is kind of huge and it was off-season" in Miami, that may have been the cause. They have a huge free parking lot. Once inside they have a market as well as a liquor store. The market was tremendous with everything you need from grocery to produce, and a deli to frozen foods. And the market was very clean and tidy. My one qualm is that the prices are generally expensive. However, some deals can be found. I discovered that you can grab some to-go foods near their hot buffet section. So, if you need a quick bite on the cheap, that's the best place to look. Overall, Publix was good and convenient, I would likely look elsewhere if I wanted more affordable options.
