Deli online order is a total crap shoot. Subs are wrong or poorly made 50% of the time. Deli meats and/or cheeses are sometimes sloppily squished into the bag (especially annoying with cheese). Thickness of cuts has low accuracy to order as well. Checkout employees are super nice and the store is very clean. The deli online order is really weighing down this location. It's the only publix I experience deli issues. read more

Local? Avoid this Publix. 20 mins at deli counter with only 1 customer in front of me. 5 people working around area but 1 person cutting meat. They seem as casual as the tourists they are assisting. Not a place to get in/out after a work day. Even cashiers taking a laid back approach with greetings like "whatup". No pharmacy. Lots of fun pool toys if you are in the market. read more

This is a Publix that was created especially for tourists and local college students. The store has everything that you need, as well as the Florida-loving koozies and accessories that every tourist wants at the beach. I went in frequently to get hot subs, as there are very few great restaurants in striking distance. You will wait a few minutes, but it's worth every minute when you leave with a fresh baguette filled with Boar's Head meats and cheeses. read more

Great publix for locals and tourist. They have everything a local would need to stock a home along with 2 extra isles of tourist needs such as floats, and other swim accessories. The store is large and in charge. The waits are always reasonable. Parking is never a hassle. The subs are amazing. My recommendation is to call ahead to order them. Their sandwich artist aren't the quickest I've seen. Not slow but you could expect 5 minutes a sub. read more

This was our first stop after landing at MCO to stock up on water and toiletries for our 10 days in Orlando. The store is nicely kept and employees were friendly. I'd compare it to the newer Safeway stores here in Hawaii. Prices were reasonable and/or really good! Very clean aisles and a wide selection of items. Not quite Whole Foods fancy, which I don't care about it but many more great deals that is important to families with kids that cook all the time. Super clean publix, right down the street from my hotel which made it super convenient. The deli hot section seemed to be relatively smaller then my local publix back in ft lauderdale area. Subs were still fresh and good as always. Seemed to be pretty slow every time I went into the store, but no complaints with that, quicker lines! read more

The customer service here was fantastic! We went to the deli where Colleen helped us try new cheeses and took the time to make sure we had what we needed. My current favorite store since the one on central Florida parkway is closed due to renovation. All the staff are very nice and everything is extremely fresh especially the meat department. The selection of fine wines is very large and in order which makes it easy to pick which bottle you want. I really wish grocery stores from NY where I am from adopted publix's policy's. I've noticed a very recent decline in this store. While in the past, I would have reviewed it 4 stars, as it's had friendly consumer service and cleanliness, the quality control has gone down significantly in the past month. A lot of produce is often going bad/rotting on the shelves. You need to sort through and pick out the *one* decent fruit or vegetable, while most of them are brown and bad. There have been multiple instances in the last few weeks, where I have picked something off the shelves, just to notice that it is actually expired by a week or more. This has happened with yogurts, hot dogs, cheeses, and other products. I'm just grateful I actually check the dates before putting anything in my cart. I really hope this is just a temporary change in management or a mishap, because I do enjoy this store and would hate to have to shop elsewhere. read more

This is a tourist Publix, not a neighborhood Publix, and so has a small deli, very limited hot food selections, and small bakery. What they have is fresh, though; just limited variety. The main reason I do not like this store is the volume of the music. It is so loud, I can barely concentrate on what I need to buy, because I'm trying to get out of there as fast as possible (& it's always some sort of music with screaming female singers- horrible). Upon entering many Disney products, couldn't resist and bought 2 t-shirts. Very large and clean. Was expecting a larger produce section, but the packaged fresh fruit in prices and sizes made up for it. Clean and safe surrounding neighborhood, very middle class and tourist driven. While I do not have Publix in the New York area, I must say that they have become my favorite conventional supermarket chain based on my experiences at their many stores I have been to in South Florida and the Orlando areas based on their impeccable cleanliness, excellent customer service, high quality perishables, excellent deli, and fair prices. On my last trip to Disney World, I stopped at this Publix courtesy of my driver from Tiffany Towncar/Transportation Orlando (http://www.yelp.com/user_details_review_search?q=tiffany&userid=K575TfFM7dr0umHcmi9wtQ) thanks to a free grocery stop included with the ride and this Publix's convenient location en-route to my hotel. Upon entering this average-sized Publix, I found it to be immaculate, bright, and cheerful, not unlike other Publix stores I have visited. When I entered, I first went to the deli where Charlotte, a bubbly and efficient associate was happy to slice me half a pound of Boar's Head Three Pepper Colby Jack at about $10.49/lb, which is on par with what I pay at conventional supermarkets on Long Island. After stopping at the deli, I went to the produce department, where I picked up a 16-ounce box of sweet and tart Florida strawberries for $2.99, sweet and plump blueberries for $2.99, bananas that were not too ripe and the perfect texture for $0.69/lb, and delicious Publix orange juice, which is priced less than the national brands and just as good, if not better quality. I then went to the wide and well-organized grocery aisles, where I purchased a 12-pack of Diet A&W Root Beer for $5.29. Based on this experience, I found that the prices at this Publix were comparable, if not slightly cheaper than the prices I pay for groceries at home. After going to the grocery aisles, I encountered Joseph, a personable and polite employee who was able to help me find two Publix insulated recyclable bags by actually walking me to the location, which was very much appreciated! When it came time to check out, I found my cashier Eddie to be friendly, enthusiastic, and efficient and his bagger Johann bagged my groceries perfectly, making for a pleasurable, smooth, and seamless transaction. Based on this and many other experiences at Publix, it is not hard to see why their tagline is "where shopping is a pleasure." read more

The ones by me need some serious customer service help with bakery and deli. This location could not be better. Parking is never an issue and everything is very clean and organized. The Publix at Williamsburg Downs doesn't have a great selection, but the staff is ALWAYS fantastic and it's close to my house. I always see the manager running around and she checks in with guests constantly. I tried to go the the Lake Cay Commons location because it's bigger and I needed something that my normal location didn't stock, but I can tell you I will never do it again. I will drive much further to Whole Foods when I can't find it in Williamsburg. None of the staff in the store said a word to me as I shopped. When I got to the front of the store to check out (8:30pm on a Friday night), they had 2 lanes open with lines back through the store as every guest seemed to have some sort of issue while checking out. Around that time, they opened one more line, now having 2 regular lanes and 1 express. Justin, the employee in the 10 items or less Express line decided it was OK for 2 women with a cart FULL of stuff to come through the line while there were several of us there with only 1 or 2 items. It took him forever to check them out and then, after all of that waiting, the ladies didn't have any money ready and it took them another few minutes to dig through their purses then try to decide if maybe they should put stuff back. When I called Justin out on allowing such a large order though the EXPRESS line and asked why they would put the sign up if they were not going to enforce the rule, his response was "it is what it is". Justin is clearly not cut out for dealing with the general public. Too much of my income goes toward groceries and my budget is generally split between Publix and Whole Foods. Williamsburg Downs will still get my loyalty, but you can bet your bottom I won't step foot in store 1191 again if they are training and tolerating employees who clearly could not possibly care less about their jobs. read more

This is my current go-to Publix since it is on my home from work and the Williamsburg location is under renovations. I love this location because it is super clean (one of the newer ones) and the staff is SO FRIENDLY. I wouldn't expect anything else from Publix. The staff here is truly helpful. Generally I've found this place to always be fully stocked. The only time I've ever come here and seen bare shelves was just before Hurricane Irma, so all in all, I think they do a pretty good job. Also, on Sundays it is actually really quiet. I would rather come to visit this location than the ones in Dr. Phillips, which are usually super packed. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because they don't carry too much gourmet things like the location in the Dr. Phillips Marketplace or Celebration. Those stores have more of a specialty meat market, etc. You won't be able to find the Publix Aprons meal preps here. Otherwise, it's always a very pleasant experience to shop here. read more

This place is merely okay. I was going to give them only 1 star but because the staff are so friendly and really go out of their way to help you, I will give them an additional star. The prices here are outrageous. I see no reason to pay $3 to $4 more for an item instead of just going to Walmart or another similar store. The fresh food items here are the only decent value. Also, sometimes they offer a buy one get one free offer on select items. All in all, this place has great customer service and a helpful, friendly, staff but the sky high prices and limited selection in this small location make me want to go elsewhere. read more

I'm only writing this review to comment on the bakery as that's the only time I entered the store. This location is close to my work and I had to order a custom cake for an event. During the ordering process they didn't seem to know all of the options for cakes. The day I was supposed to pick up my order I received a call and was told my order could not be fulfilled as requested so it had to be changed the day of & I was not pleased. I carried the cake and my purse to cash out and was offered no assistance in walking to my car when the manager was at the counter. Seemed very unusual for publix customer service. read more

I came here while on vacation. The employees here are the nicest and most helpful that I have ever experienced at a grocery store. They actually act like the want to help you. I got so used to grocery stores back home when you ask for help and the employees sigh or roll their eyes. I told them at the deli that the cherry coke dispenser was out and within 3 minutes they fixed it and then came to find me in the store to tell me it was working. Another employee helped me find something and at checkout they are prior and really want to help you load your car. Selection is good, prices are higher than I am used to back home but it could just be the area. Since I have not shopped in another grocery store in this area I don't have anything local to compare it to. read more

This Publix has to be the best one Ever. It is the cleanest, newest, and nicest Publix, if not best all around grocery store in Orlando. It's like a mix between a normal Publix and a Whole Foods or Fresh Market. Samples are plentiful, the array of cold cuts and cheeses is enormous (same goes for fruits and other meats), customer service is impeccable; and the building itself is a brand new structure. What else can i say, It's on Universal boulevard between Vista Cay and the 528. I suggest you check it out-- but not everyone all at once. This Publix also rocks because it's not too crowded. read more

The staff at this Publix is the friendliest I have ever met. It would take me too long to list them all by name, but suffice it to say, they have kept me coming back enough to know all their names and develop friendships.
