This particular Publix is not in the poshest area of town, but it does have some of the best grocery store personnel in the entire state. The customer service here is absolutely phenomenal! The store is clean and well maintained. Aisles are organized nicely and there's plenty of room to maneuver shopping carts around the store. The bakery puts out some very tasty cookies and cakes! I'll have to come back to see if the deli does as good a job as the bakery. I wasn't as happy with the pharmacy when I gave them a try with filling a prescription for me, so I went back to the original place I had been using. Other than that, this Publix is great! read more

We've been shopping here since relocating from Hawaii. The employees and managers welcomed us from day one. We get our meats and fresh produce twice a week at this location. The store is bright and inviting. The shelves are always neatly stocked. The buy one, get one free promotional items are excellent bargains. Their Publix brand ice cream are amazing. read more

I am one of the biggest fans of the Pub Sub, that said every time I go to this Publix on Mobile Hwy they chop up my lettuce and spinach and veggies to the point it looks pre-chewed. I absolutely love the supermarket but can't stand going to the liquor store beside it. There's a older lady with glasses that is usually on shift and Is just the most unpleasant person you'd ever want to meet, or ever want to meet if you were my color. Many of times I've seen her friendly and chatting it up with customers like her, and then as soon as it's my turn her whole demeanor changes. It's like I just fucked up her night for getting in her line. I've gone up mobile highway to paradise liquor lately just to avoid the awkward encounter. I'd hate to assume that she's racist or feels intimidated by black men in a lone store, but the awkward eye rolling and lack of ANY response or greeting makes me go else where. read more

Waited a bit and then was told I should probably go walk around and shop because they were too busy with Togo orders to help me. I moved into the area near Publix a couple years ago. Knowing full well their prices are more than Walmart, Publix is a little more convenient for me. I've also noticed more younger people on the registers checking people out, and after having many interactions with them, now feel the need to share what I have been experiencing. Half the time they won't even greet me at the register with a simple hello, if they do they aren't very friendly or would rather be having a conversation with the bagging person about something ridiculous. Your front end needs leadership Publix, and the young generation needs mentoring if you're going to place them in these positions interacting with the public. I will be shopping at Walmart from now on, if no one is going to say hi or give a smile at Walmart at least I can use the self check and do it myself. Thought you might want to now. read more

Everyone starting with the door greeter to all the cashiers and baggers are all willing to help you out; when looking for an item not only did they tell me where it was located in the store but they walked me right over to the shelf, & their deli has some of the freshest food hot and cold!! read more

I cannnot say enough good things about the service I received from this store. My daughter is a Marine that is currently at her MOS school at NAS Pensacola. August 3 was her 18th birthday and I wanted to surprise her by having a cake and a sandwich platter delivered by an extremely kind lady that does so as a service to our military. I placed my order online and then phoned the store to pay via credit card. The girl (I wish I had gotten her name!) in the bakery who answered my call was more than helpful. She immediately printed out my order and ran it over to customer service where Christian took over the transaction. He was so very attentive and made certain that I felt comfortable giving my credit card info over the phone. After I gave him the info there was a problem with the card (I have recently moved and accounts are still updating info) and I had to call him back the next day after I had contacted the company. When I called the store again, 24 hours later, Christian once again handled the call. Everything went perfectly that go around. Two days later when the lady went to pick up the order fur delivery, the cake was ready but the sandwich tray was not. I was told that the staff was extremely apologetic and immediately prepared an upgraded sandwich tray at no extra charge as an apology for the oversight. Talk about amazing customer service! Thank you, Publix, for helping make a US Marine's 18th birthday special when she was 2500 miles away from her mom. read more

This is a very nice Publix. On Friday I had a Covid shot appointment at Walgreens, however, when I got there they said they couldn't give any shots as there system was down. I got home and called Publix as I have had nothing but problems with Walgreens. I spoke to an employee in the Publix Pharmacy at around 1 p.m. She said I could not come in and get the covid shot everything was done by appointment online. I told her how the guy that does my hair on 9th Avenue was able to contact the Publix on 9th Avenue and they called him and said they had a cancellation. The employee at Publix said they don't do that there and I should drive to 9th Avenue as they were busy. The next day, Saturday I went to Publix at my appointment time and saw this couple completing paperwork to get the covid shot. I asked the Pharmacy employee about that and told her I was told you had to do all appointments online. She said no you can walk in. That's not what I was told Friday. I would have preferred to go on Friday since I was already out. Respectfully, this is a nice Publix but you can't believe what employees tell you there. Depending on who you talk to in the Pharmacy their operating practices differ depending on the day. I want to add all employees I was in contact with at the Pharmacy on Saturday were very nice and professional. read more

I am a fan of Publix and this one is no different. It is large, clean, and the workers are friendly. For those of you not familiar with Florida, they have beer and wine in the main store, and liquor in the adjacent liquor store. I am not sure how that helps curb drunkenness, but apparently it does. I'm from Central FL, so Publix is a staple store where I'm from. I'd say I visited Publix at least twice a week back home. Being use to a certain level of service can definitely make one bias when visiting other locations. I've been in Pensacola for almost 4 months now and I had yet to get to Publix so I could get my sub. Today I wasn't in the mood to cook as it'd been a long day and I just wanted to get a sub and go home. I visited the Public on Mobile Highway next to the Planet Fitness that I just signed up for. Needless to say, I stood in line for a sub for almost 20mins and there was only one person in front of me and I believe he'd been waiting to a while before I even got there. They had 2 people behind the counter. Eventually one other showed up after about 15mins of waiting and then the young lady Lauryn was able to help me after she finished handling the line of customers she had. I've NEVER seen a Publix with no one readily available. I've seen them busy, but this location didn't even seem to care that they had at least 10 people waiting for over 20mins. I can't say I won't go back, because the young lady did a superb job on on my sub; but they need more help. It's the holiday season and there's no reason to be so short staffed in a grocery store. read more

Nice clean store prices are a little higher than other local stores but the great customer service is worth a little more I needed a pizza pan bought one made by Chicago metallic it says the baking experts they had a bunch of different stuff made by this company cookie sheets bread pans ect. Despite the poor attitude of the girl I ordered from over the phone I was still excited to eat my sandwich from the deli. Even after the girl dropped my sandwich on the floor and said "oh well it's in a bag", I was still excited to eat my sandwich. Unfortunately it was so sloppily thrown together with whole slices of meat hanging out the ends that after three bites it fell apart on my plate. They put so much Italian sub sauce on it that the packaging was soaked through to the bag (that fell on the floor). I had to eat the remainder with a fork and knife. Only reason I'm giving two stars is because the boar head meat is amazing. read more

The pharmacy in this Publix needs to be reviewed by upper management. My sister who lives in Pensacola came down with the flu. After going to the doctor she went to this store which is the one she always gets her perscriptions at. They told her it would be one hour and 40 minutes before it could be filled. It wasn't like it was a maintance drug and she wasn't sick. She had the flu with a high fever and the rx tech would not even listen. My sister is 61 years old and lives five miles away from this store. I called the customer service number the next day to tell them this problem , they said the pharmacy supervisor would get in touch with me. Two weeks later still no call. Great experience every time I go there. The employees are genuinely happy, helpful and professional. Today I saw a young man being trained. The manager was watching to ensure everything was done correctly and smoothly. You could tell the employees really responded to her calm and gentle leadership. However, what was the most impressive was seeing cashier to baggers taking on the same demeanor as her as they actively participated in the young man's training. Wish the pharmacy had better concepts of time, and for the first time ever, did not get asked if I was able to find everything okay, plus had to bag my own groceries. For the pharmacy: was told it was going to take 30-35 minutes to fill my Rx; ended up taking an hour and 20 minutes. And this was after asking 3 times for it. Lucky for me I got the text it was finished LITERALLY 5 minutes after going to check out and loading my car-again, with no offer to walk the groceries out, like they used to. Good thing I was still in the parking lot! I finished packing my car and walked back inside to get my Rx. Please don't tell people it's only going to be 30 minutes when you know it's going to take longer! You not only had the same amount of people working from the time I dropped my Rx off, walked around the store doing my shopping and came back, but you had 2 MORE people working! So not really sure where the backlog happened. Won't be filling anymore Rx here....and possibly won't shop at this particular Publix again. I like Publix and all, but there's a reason this particular location is considered the "ghetto" one in town. read more

Used Instacart in Pensacola FL, for Perdido Key delivery. Twice order was majorly delayed with no real explanation. Shoppers complained that they were given the order even though they were too far away. The final straw was ordering in for our last night on the beach. We left our spot early to meet the delivery but ended up being told it would be two hours longer - we used the service for convenience but finally just went to the store ourselves. I have used similar service at home (different company) with none of these issues. First world problem for sure but this business is not run well and customer service was full of excuses. read more

Publix has Instacart which offers grocery shopping and delivery. This service is great for people with health concerns which prevents them from doing their own shopping. Customers go to the app for the service and do shopping with listings of Publix groceries and other necessities. I have used the service several times. The one problem of great concern to me is the shopper does not pay attention to expiration dates; example milk with an expiration date just days from delivery. My last instacart shopping had several items with expiration dates just two days after delivery. In addition almost half of the items ordered was not in stock. After noticing the expiration problem, I wrote a note requesting that the shopper be cautious about expiration dates. Even with that note I still received groceries with very near expiration dates. I never buy dairy or produce because of the expiration problem. Forget reporting the problem. I contacted Publix the first time I used the service. I had ordered fresh tomatoes and one was rotten when delivered. I called Publix to report the problem and I was literally called a liar. After providing the receipt showing the date and item the price was refunded. But not before I had been drilled and finally said "forget it, the cost of one tomato is not worth this much hassle." It was such a problem that I just stopped ordering dairy and produce. I am unable to walk and the service would be a great help if I could depend on fresh and adequate expiration dates. read more

Publix Pharmacy promotes free antibiotic prescriptions. I took a friend there to pick up her prescription. The technician asked multiple times how to spell the last name, and eventually had to get assistance to locate the prescription. She told us the prescription would be ready in thirty minutes. Since we had some shopping to do, we took our time going through the store. Forty five minutes later, we went back to get the prescription. The same technician still needed help to pull up the name and locate the prescription. It was not ready yet and she proceeded to tell us it would be ready in yet another thirty minutes. When questioned why it would take an additional 30 minutes, she stated "sorry, there's nothing I can do". She could have told us 1 hour from the start and created a lot less stress for us. When I informed the manager of the situation, he told us they just pulled the prescription from the fax line. The same thing that was told to us from the beginning. I will not be using the pharmacy again, free or not. I would much prefer to have accurate information to start with and I would have gladly agreed to have the prescription transferred to a normal pharmacy to pay for the prescription. read more
