Store was nice; clean, selection was good. I tried some sausages that we don't have in our home area. Prices were outrageous, but I guess it goes with the area. When you see the way that some people live in the area, it must be difficult for them. It's a vacation destination for some but for others it's their home and they're the ones providing services for the vacationers. Just wanted to write a review for Luis. I didn't want his hospitality and kindness to go unnoticed! I asked him a couple questions about which wine was popular and which to buy for my partner since I don't really drink. He went out of his way to share which ones sell out the fastest and helped me find the right choice based on my budget and interests. He even went to the back to get a pamphlet that further detailed the differences between wines and so on. He was really enthusiastic and so nice! My partner enjoyed the wine I got him. The deli counter is slow as can be, think "nails on a chalkboard" slow. The fish counter is terrible (pretty much at all Publix). Fish isn't fresh at all and isn't even close to "local". There needs to be some competition in this town. Don't even get me started at the produce section. There's a handful of parsley to pick from. Handful of cilantro. Hardly any variety in lettuce (most is bagged and shipped from who knows where and how long it's been rusting in the bag) and most are picked over. Tons of bread and it all tastes almost the same. I normally enjoy Publix, but this one was bad. The few checkout lanes open were so slow. I saw why when I got up to the front. The guy in front of me was bagging his own groceries while the three (3) Publix gals sat and talked and laughed with each other. When I got up there, I must have shown with displeasure. Our checkout lady called a guy over to bag my groceries that had only one working hand ! ... and the three ladies sat and talked. All the lanes were a mess. Living in KW, there really aren't that many grocery options and I find that this is my go to store. Being a vegetarian, I find that Publix carries quite an extensive variety of the foods I buy (soy and nut "dairy" products, nut based baking products, canned goods, frozen entrees and faux meats, extensive selection of fruits and vegetables -with most items being available organic). My Mr is a carnivore and he enjoys the organic offerings from both the deli and the meat case. I however, find the deli selection to be extremely lacking in freshly prepared salads and hot fresh items. I find the employees to be friendly and helpful overall, and yes, as well as everywhere else in today's entitled society, there are a few bad apples thrown in just to "F" your day up when you are least expecting it! Try and pay particular attention at this location for expiration dates and "special" prices listed on products that are rung up quite a bit more expensively at checkout! When this happens (which it literally does EVERY single time) be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait...you will finally be so angry after the 3 rd person can't find the product or the price, you will sprint back on your own to get advertised price! Unfortunately, you get so angry when it happens EVERY time that you choose to ignore it more than not because it takes minimum 20 minutes out of your time and I call BS on Publix as well as most other KWesters that I know for blatantly ripping off their customers consistently! Clean, friendly, generally well stocked store that needs to reconfigure price scanning. read more

The store looks great on the outside but the inside feels cramped. There is limited natural light as well so it feels unhappy. I easily found what I needed, but my checkout experience was negative. My cashier was named Al. He talked cheerfully with the Customer ahead of me but when I spoke, he gave me abrupt short answers. I got the hint and stopped talking with him. Once he finished ringing me up...he hadn't bagged my groceries, like he did for the other customer, so I had to actually ask him to. (Wow!) Then I had a heavy thing of cat litter, he didnt even help me lift it when he saw me struggling to pick it up. He might have had a bad day...but this was just upsetting for me. I may go again but I will stay away from Al or i may just stop at the other publix instead. read more

This Publix has pretty much everything you need. In particular, it has a nice beer selection, but a better wine selection. My primary reason for coming here was the pharmacy. Thankfully they were very flexible when it came to helping an out-of-town customer. Made my life I alot easier. They also offer scratch-offs. read more

I am really impressed with this store. I'm an avid organic fruit eater and after searching for organic apples at Winn Dixie and leaving disappointed, it felt like a real win to find such an assortment of organics at Publix. Organic honey crisps are my latest obsession. As soon as I walked in the store I was met with a large display of neatly stacked, red, healthy looking organic honey crisps. Most all the apples were in perfect condition. The price I paid was not a friendly one. $4.99 a pound. But hey, some things are worth the inflated cost. The rest of the store was clean and packed with fresh products. Workers were also nice and seemed happy to be at work. read more

This is a really great grocery store. I usually only go to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods (don't judge). I was surprised it was clean, organized and staff more than willing to help. The absolute worst customer service. Very rude and unprofessional management. Workers in this establishment need to learn to do their own jobs and not other individuals jobs that have nothing to do with Publix. The seafood department is almost always out of shrimp. When asking majority of the workers where items are instead of looking they will look you in the eye and say those items are not available. Losing their own company and other companies potential money and products. My parents have both health and mobility issues. They REALLY needed to order online and pick up groceries! A super kind employee helped them EVERY step of the way to figure it out. This Publix grocery store is located in a shopping center called "SearsCenter", which sounds like a concert venue, but it's not. This location has plenty of locals, complete with the Key West public bus drop-up in front. The employees were really friendly and the produce selection was pretty fresh. If you need to stock up on a few staple grocery items at a decent price, Publix is a better pick over W-D. read more

I usually love publix but this place is gross and has the worst customer service. Over the last few years I called corporate to beg them to fix the issues but it's only gotten worse. I can't even go to the deli anymore and we wait until we are in Marathon to get publix subs(which I love). I just can no longer deal with the consistent "why are you bothering me" attitude at the sub station. This is also the only "neighborhood" publix where it's impossible to get discontinued items. Most of these experiences are common at both key west publix. My last straw was at this publix yesterday when I bought bananas pudding that had the grossest bananas I have ever seen used in anything other than banana bread. My great great aunt who grew up in the depression would even use bananas this gross in banana pudding. If you grew up with and love publix do not expect that standard at either key west publix. I personally have given up and will just have to wait until I'm in marathon to shop at a publix. read more

For a grocery store on a heavily populated island this store does okay. The isles are usually pretty well stocked and clean, the workers are generally speaking polite, the quality of the products they sell here is almost always good, now the reason I'm giving this store 3 stars is because they could use some TLC on the inside, the isles need to be payed out differently to ensure proper traffic flow for people shopping, as it is right now everyone shopping here is rubbing shoulders and throwing looks at everyone around them, this could be alleviated by redesigning the setup inside of the store. Like I said not a bad store but it needs some work before I'll consider it a great place to shop. read more

Your food and customer service is great. But I'm giving you this crap review because you're the only Publix I've ever been in that does t have a damn changing table in the bathroom!!! Like wtf?! Even the counter where the sinks are is too small to use as a table. I needed food so I couldn't leave to go change my baby elsewhere. Baby had to sit in her dirty diaper for longer than she ever has. Poor excuse for a family grocery store. You sell baby stuff. You should have a god damn changing table! Key west is preparing for the hurricane to come which means we need hurricane supplies and hurricane food. PUBLIX was well stocked with bottled water, canned food, nonperishable food, snacks for the kids, candles, batteries, coolers and of course beer and wine for the adults. I like publix allot but I feel the prices are higher than other local grocery stores and perhaps higher than other publix in south Florida. They have a very nice deli and very clean stores that makes up for the so/so prices. Clean Bathrooms too. My only other suggestion would be to stop all the homeless people from hanging out front of the store. It makes it look trashy read more

As far as Publix's go this is on par with most. That said, I recently started using their Pharmacy and it is absolutely horrendous. They mix up orders and when I try to get it sorted out they get defensive and rude, 3 times in the last 2 months. The pharmacy assistant manager seems very disgruntled every time I visit. At first I felt bad for the guy, now I just avoid him. Again, this shouldn't represent Roosevelt Publix as a whole but it certainly reflects on the store. read more
