We recently stopped in for some Publix Sub sandwiches and other quick grabs for lunch. We went on a Saturday around 11:30 and I will say I think the whole town had the same idea. They only had one gentleman taking care of everyone. I needed four subs and it did take about 15 min just for my four subs. With that said they were delicious! I was in the deli standing in line & there were 9 people there for the sub side & and for fried chicken & 1 employee to take care of customers. There were several employees walking around behind the counter ignoring the situation. I even asked 1 employee to help out, & he waited a good while before coming over to help. It took me 25 minutes to get a sub sandwich. This was around 5;00 p.m they didn't have the meat or cheese sliced for their busy time of day read more

Custom ordered German Chocolate Cake. I placed a cake order about two weeks ago for my husband's birthday. Cake was to be complete at 1200 for his party today. At 1021 I received a call to let me know they did not have what they needed to make the cake and would not be fulfilling the order. I pre-purchased the cake and was now left with no cake for the party. They offered to make a chocolate cake in replacement, unfortunately that did not fit the need. To top it off the foil balloon numbers that were purchased ($45) for his party had a hole in them and deflated shortly after getting home. Just disappointing overall. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I called Publix and pressed 2 for the deli, only to have someone at the customer service desk pick up. She said she would transfer me--then just hung up. I called back, pressed 2 for the deli again, and the same thing happened. On my third attempt, I was finally transferred, but the phone rang for 16 minutes straight with no answer. Frustrated, I got in my car and drove 12 minutes to the store, only to be told they weren't taking fried chicken orders--on Super Bowl Sunday, of all days! Why not just say that over the phone? Instead of wasting my time, gas, and patience, they could have been upfront from the start. As a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, today is a huge deal for me. While I do enjoy Publix on a weekly basis, I need to stop preordering or getting subs from their counter. There is always a wait. Today's review is being posted because they called me 8 minutes after my order was supposed to be ready (I knew they'd be late as they always are), to tell me it would be another 10 minutes more because they are low on chicken tenders. Camped this summer at Ft. McAllister on the great Ogeechee River, somewhere south of Savannah, and decidedly distant from our native SoCal. Previous trips to the South have found me inside many Publix supermarkets, and on this trip it was no different. We visited this store at least three times in quaint little Richmond Hill, and each visit was a delight. Nice folks working the place, clean and well-stocked shelves, and an order to the place that sort of just follows logic. Didn't meet with a single stink eye or a cross word, even with my California plates on the truck. Folks just seem to treat one another nicer in this part of the world. On subsequent trips we purchased produce, meat, ice cream, assorted camp food, and even a bag of shrimp for bait. Yeah, I'd move here. read more

Located in the Richmond Hill Plantation on Hwy GA 144, this Publix location is on the smaller side of Publix stores, but it still rocks! No word of a lie, before moving to Savannah, when choosing our next duty station, Publix was a determining factor in our decision! My husband raves about Publix, having grown up in FL, and I had visited a few locations in FL while visiting family. I was impressed! Between my husband and I, we shop there at least 3 times a week. Publix is definitely a higher price point, but paying the extra premium for a no hassle, pleasant experience is completely worth it! Center lot parking. Parking is easy and plenty of it, but cars are parked diagonally and the lanes are only one way. Other than the standard parking for people with a disability, there are also electric vehicle spots, as well as a few 15 min parking spots to the left of the entrance, in front of Marco's Pizza. - Highlights - *There is a sense of peace in shopping in a tidy environment. The store is always well stocked and neat. When you look down an aisle, the floors are shining. Even when clerks are stocking up, the carts that carry the stock is not overflowing. The aisles are usually free of obstruction. *Produce - always looks fresh and almost like they polish the fruit before they stack! I love the quality. The fruits are always at their peak of sweetness. I also love the variety. I have seen whole Jack Fruits and recently, I bought Japanese daikon radish which I use frequently. This saves me a drive to the Asian grocery stores in town. *Meats - Great quality. I can find meats like pork belly which is hard to find at other grocery chains. *$5 Sushi Wednesdays - Okay, it's really only the California Roll, but for $5? Can't beat it! * Subs! One of the main reasons we love Publix. I'm not really a sandwich girl, but Publix subs are great. They're super fresh and there is one flavor of the week on sale for $6.99 for a foot long. The bakery makes the sub bread/roll specifically for the Deli dept. Get the flavors on the menu or create your own. A great variety of breads, meats, veg toppings, cheeses and condiments. Make the sandwich half half to share with a buddy. *Hot food - For grocery chains, I love Publix's Fried Chicken! Their wings, popcorn chicken and Buffalo tenders are good too! They have great family meal deals. * The Canadian part of my heart is happy that I can find Coffee Crisp and Aero Bars in the International section. Never had one? Publix is closer than Canada *The Korean part of my heart is happy too that although it's not the Asian brand of items that I usually purchase, I can find basic Asian items in a pinch! *Deli counter - they give you a slice to taste before you buy *BOGO deals - the best deals ever. See tip *Bakery - Ganache cake is the bomb. Comparable to private bakery. Fresh donuts, decent pizza dough fridge by itself, thawed or frozen. - TLC - Service is always top notch! I feel like it's the Chick-Fil-A of grocery stores, not to compare but that's a compliment. Staff is always asking how I am. I don't think I have ever encountered an employee on a bad day. They are always super friendly and when you ask for an item, they usually bring you to the item short of holding your hand. - Kiddos - Got kids? Pre-covid, kids could get a free cookie from the bakery or a fruit from produce. They still give out balloons and coloring pages for your littles. Car carts are available. Tips/FYI: *BOGO is the way to go! See a fave item on BOGO? Stock up! But, you don't need to buy 2 items to get BOGO price. Each item rings up half price. I believe it's only in the state of FL that you need to buy 2 to get BOGO pricing *If you need a larger/lesser qty of a particular meat, just ring the butcher's window and they'll cut you the quantity and repackage upon request * Publix Promise - If a price rings up incorrectly at the cash register, they will give you the first item for free and then adjust the price for all additional same items in the transaction *Don't like an item? I love our local Publix store. I spend so much time in here that I almost feel like one of the family. I am always greeted as soon as I walk in and have never had a bad experience. I'm a bit picky when it comes to my deli meats and although they tease me a little about this a the deli counter, they are always willing to accommodate my needs. Their cooked fried chicken always wins out over KFC or Popeyes, especially if Mr. Mike is there and has cooked it. It's always delicious. I went through a period where I was ill and had to use the motorized basket. Once I got better and was able to walk, I realized the employees had actually been paying attention. They would greet me and tell me how much better I looked and inquire about my health. It means a lot to me that they actually pay attention to their customers AND care about us. I've frequented other Publix stores but I love my Richmond Hill Store and staff. Keep doing what you're doing!! read more

The worst deli I've ever ordered from. The staff are super rude and lazy and actually look miserable. We ordered Cuban sandwiches and they were cold on wheat bread with so much mayo dripping out of them. They were so disgusting. It not the first time either we had previously ordered Italian sub sandwiches they put a ton of wet shredded lettuce in them. When we got home the sandwiches were soggy and we could not eat them. I don't recommend anything from their deli. They also never have the soups they have on the menu for the day. They always change the days on the soup we do like. I love Publix, it's very well organized and stocked. If I can't find something, the workers are more than happy to help me find what I need. I think I'm in the store so much that one of the cashiers knows my name, and she's always pleasant. The baggers are really nice and sweet. One day, a bagger without prompt went and got me a fork from the deli for my food. I was just gonna use one from home, and she asked me to hold on and ran and got me one. I didn't know you don't have to buy one to get one free--but, because their corporate office is located in Florida, they must advertise in this manner in the store. So, a HUGE savings to me (and you)!! On Wednesday, January 3, Richmond Hill got SNOW. I needed to fax something that had to be done on this date. I kind of remember seeing their sign at customer service but didn't remember if the service is available, so I called them and spoke with Dakota -- amazing customer service representative! Huge kudos to her. Highway 144 already had ice, pine trees had begun to lean and of course, Richmond Hill drivers were racing down 144. However, I had a great friend who drove me there. There was a problem sending the documents, but Dakota didn't give up until after several attempts. I thanked her for trying. As I was walking out the door to go home, she came running after me to tell me the fax finally went through! Hallelujah! There were a lot of people at the customer service desk trying to check out. All of the check-out lanes were open and busy, but she still helped me knowing the urgency of my needs. I recently had surgery which made it impossible for me to do any of this alone. Dakota and Arlene were answering non-stop ringing telephones; working with customers at both their registers and trying to close the store at noon because they were advised to do so for safety reasons. But, our Richmond Hill residents treated Publix employees and management horribly! I keep up with the weather forecast and had done my grocery shopping last week -- knowing we could possibly lose power. As they were beginning to lock the entrances, the "entitled" people cussed at them, yelled at them and said things that did not need to be said. I know this was a long review, but I just want to thank Publix -- especially Dakota and Arlene. I want to apologize for the horrible people that treated them so disrespectfully. read more
