Just went there to pick up items to make dinner for tonight. Let me just say this location is a total 180 from the one at Gateway. Larger aisles, knowledgeable staff, the butcher gave me a tutorial on grades of filets . Totally awesome. More items, and staff that was actually involved in assisting customers. It is BEAUTIFUL, they decided to Have the classic floors that the older Publix have( I'm glad they brought those back)! They kept a lot of the Employees and brought them back! This review is for 6900 Daniels parkway 33912. This is the newest remodel closest to me. Most of this grocery is good, but they don't have enough employees. Every time we go in to get chicken tenders, they have changed everything. There is no one to help you and the chicken tenders are never fresh and hot and tender. I do not like the new system. If we need help,, the people behind the counter are doing Chinese and don't wait on chicken tenders tender customers. You wait and wait still don't get hot fresh chicken tenders. Please fix this issue. You need more employees and want fresh hot chicken tenders. We used the Publix on Six mile Cypress, while the Publix on Dani,es was being remodeled. They always had fresh chicken tenders on six mile cypress. It's really annoying when you open your bag when you get home and the chicken tenders are bad. The people that come here treated me and my children like a burden. I don't know what's up with the clientele here but it's pure hatred for little children. My kids are wonderful wel behaved kids. They are not being rude or crazy or being loud but the older people that shop here are seriously the worst people on earth. Fact is, any people who work here should do others a favor and tell customers to behave towards other peoples kids. My kids are NOT A BURDEN AND I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE KNOWING THE TYPE OF PEOPLE WHO COME HERE!!!! I have never had people treat my children so rudely! I have a 1 year old baby and he didn't even make a peep. But yet old people want to be such grouches and trying to tell my kids how to act or not to touch things or to get out of the way. My children even said excuse me to one lady who was shopping down the same aisle as us, and my son said sorry ma'am, she turned around and snarled at him and said. EXUSE ME! I had to snap back at her and say, he said sorry ma'am, are you okay?! What is wrong with you people?! There should be a sign outside this Publix that says be kind to children or don't shop here; this is supposed to be a family friendly shopping store. I cannot believe the treatment we received here! 3 minutes later another couple tried to tell my daughter not to touch her something when I told her to get it off the shelf for me. I said excuse me don't talk to my kids. I'm sick and tired of people trying talk to my kids in so many rude ways. I go to Publix throughout Florida as I travel for work often. This store is clean and well stocked as most Publix stores are. I placed my sub order on the app and it was ready prior to the expected time. I was disappointed with the customer service at the register. I wasn't greeted, spoken to or thanked. The cashier was talking with the person bagging my groceries the entire time. I didn't really need the attention, nor did I really care to speak with her, but...that's just poor customer service. This is my "go to" supermarket for the past 5 years. Store is always clean and shelves organized. Checkout lines are well staffed and wait times short. Baggers fill carts and will take out to your car if you like. Produce section has a fine selection of fresh produce and a visible effort is made to keep it well organized. The deli is good with Boar's Head and Publix cold cuts. Grab-and-go sandwiches as well as to-order are available and quite tasty. A limited but adequate selection of steam table hot foods is available. Full service bakery is available. Publix arguably makes the best Key Lime Pie in SWFL. In-store pharmacy prices are competitive and generally well stocked. My only criticism is with the Seafood Section. It is rather limited but I have never been disappointed with the quality. read more

I would rate the quality of the store itself and the staff as 4 star... but the produce is awful and never seems to be fresh. You can't place blame on the staff for that issue because they are stuck with what they pull off the delivery trucks. There is no way that that product should have to be thrown away after 2 days in my refrigerator. The problem would seem to be that they receive bulk shipments at off-site warehouse locations and then at some point, redistribute it to zone stores days later. After it gets received in the store, it most likely... gets put into a first in first out rotation there, and may sit for several more days in those refrigerators before it ever get places on the sales floor for customers to purchase. I'll shop Publix for many things, but I'm finished paying high prices for inferior produce that I can't use fast enough... because it was most likely soweeks old when I left the store with it! Pharmacist made me wait for 45 minutes. I stated that I just came from urgent care, that I was very sick with fever and chills, and I don't have anyone else who can get my medicine. I was the only person waiting, and it still took 45 minutes. I had to get the publix store manager to speak to the pharmacist. If the pharmacist had any sense or regard, he would have shown some compassion. He was the absolute worst, along with his staff. read more

I'm away on vacation so this isn't my normal Publix, but it's still the best grocery store around. Why? Because when you do silly things like buy a bottle of fruit juice that isn't really fruit juice (what's up with that 5% nonsense?) you can go back the next day and exchange it for the real thing without a receipt or question asked. Furthermore, the new juice was on sale for buy-one-get-one, so for 87 cents more, we got two bottles of V8! :D This Publix, in particular, has a great wine selection and fresh sushi in the fish department. The store itself is always clean and the people have been friendly. My disappointment is with the pharmacy. There is always an extremely long wait and never any sense of urgency. They haven't had the medicines I've needed in stock on multiple occasions, so I've had to drive across town. Now that I use Shipt for groceries most times, there is no reason to continue with the annoyance that this pharmacy brings. read more

I knew I was headed to the beach, but I didn't know I would find SHARK BITES! For those of you who aren't familiar with this delicious fruit snack, they disappeared in Midwest supermarkets mid-90's, and haven't spotted one of those tasty "great whites" until now. The produce at this Publix was fresh as well... which being from the mitten, is not always a standard. The deli counter had Boarshead deli meat- also a plus in my book. The lay-out was a little funky, but anything I was looking for- they had; just had to look a little longer. The workers were extremely friendly as well. I know, I know, it's a grocery store not a bodega, but I have had some pretty terrible experiences at grocery stores, so when I spot a good one, I share the love. read more

PUBLIX they take over the state of Florida with their grocery stores. Its nothing special, but having been spoiled with my old grocer in Brookfield, WI I dont really like Publix. The grocery stores by us had Black angus beef, Kobe Beef. A room for aged cheese and wines. They even had a smoker where you can get things done. The Online Ordering for the Deli only works if you order a pretty generic cold sub, no hot orders or anything too customized. Every time I've ordered a hot sub, the orders have either been mangled beyond recognition or the sandwich has not been available and so it's not there waiting with the rest of the order when I show up to get it. How about a call or an email when that oven isn't working? Nope sorry. No sandwich for you. Publix's solution? Just get your hungry ass to the back of the busy Sunday lunch line at the counter. Over the last few months we've seen a baffling phenomenon play out at this grocery store -- our city's first Whole Foods opened up down the street, posing the first real competition for the Publix Grocery Monopoly in Fort Myers. Great store here off daniels parkway. Stop here often to grab lunch or other various small things. Always a super friendly staff that is more than willing to go out of their way for you. Its always a pleasure to grab the amazing pub subs here and they always have more than enough staff in the deli so everyone is served timely. Friendly staff, excellent fried chicken (not all Publix are the same in that regard!), unusually large assortment of beachy equipment for a Publix, also lots of options in the hair care/cold care/personal care aisles (more than in some other Publix stores closer to us). It's in an excellent location, close to the I-75 Daniels exit. If I'm getting take-out from New China next door (our son is devoted to their pork fried rice), this Publix is a good place to pick up some mid-week shopping while waiting for the food order. Also try the little liquor store to the right of this Publix -- they sometimes have some excellent deals; a while back we bought a giant bottle of Glenmorangie there for a quite reasonable price. read more

Would not even give Publix 1 star for customer service but there is no choice. Have shopped at Publix every time we are in Florida. Every time an issue about out of stock or not packed out items. Do not have a problem with quality in store. Who could not like Boars Head products? Recently first day there they were out of one of the most common yogurts that were on sale 10/$10. This was on a Saturday. Sale begins on Thursday. We buy these every week, when they're on sale we always have to find the dairy clerk to ask if they have any in the back because the shelf is empty. If not, we have to go to customer service, who then has to confirm that in fact they don't have any. Clock is ticking...the best is she can only issue a rain check for 8...even though they are 10/$10 in the circular!! The following week, I was looking for sliced mushrooms that they had in the circular...on the first day of the ad! You guessed it, product didn't come in yet, they expected it the next day. The third week I bought Feta cheese crumble...BOGO. The cheese was on my list didn't know it was a BOGO. The space was empty except for 1 crumbled and 1 chunk. Same packaging, same size. I don't like to crumble Feta but not a big deal...until I got to the checkout. The chunk was not on sale. I said to the cashier that it's essentially the same., 4 oz. package. She said she needed a manager, she couldn't override the price. Stress city, line getting long, late Saturday afternoon. Finally, using an intermediary who fetched the manager who has to check the back. They've come a long way she used her phone and said they are in the back. She refused to override the price. I felt terrible about the people in line and said that to the packer. She said don't worry about it. Of course she wasn't in the line. The cashier was able to put a hold on our order in the system. The clerk went to the back room to find what he was told was in stock. We were waiting at the customer service area where we had to go to pay for our order. The clerk gave the Rep a package of Feta cheese, she held it up and said is this the one? I saw crumbled, traditional and said yes. The whole time I was saying a prayer that all should go well with the building of Whole Foods up the street. We can hardly wait to shop there. When Bezos comes to town, it will be a whole new ballgame. Oh wait I didn't finish...are you ready for the finale? When I got home and took out the Feta cheese that was in a separate bag from the original one that was scanned twice, per order of the manager so the line could again move...it was a larger size crumbled and not on sale!!! Publix is going to have to pry it out my cold dead hands if they want it back! I apologize to the folks who were waiting in line for such a stupid reason. Yes, I could have left the cheese but I had a plan to use it with the beautiful tomatoes I had just bought at Upick! read more

This is definitely the best Publix I've been to. The produce and the meats are always top notch. The displays are almost always perfect and the staff, for the most part, is great. I have to travel a little farther to get to this store (it isn't the closest to my home), but it's well worth it. read more

CHECK THE DATES ON EVERYTHING!! A few weeks ago I had purchased some pulled chicken for dinner and brought it home to eat. It was insanely dry and didnt think much of it but decided to check the expiration date half way through dinner and the chicken was THREE months expired!!! I'm currently pregnant and the risk of bacteria is a huge threat to my unborn child!!! Mind you this was not even frozen chicken, I was so disgusted! I went and returned it immediately and the informed the manager that many of the products on her shelves are expired including cookies, bread, chocolate milk, ravioli, and other perishables that my husband and I would bring to the check out so they could remove it off the shelves for other customers. The manager could care less! I don't know if this Publix has a ton of new employees and a new manager or what but the last six months shopping here has been horrible and the manager just doesn't care. I've been going to the Publix down the road instead and Whole Foods where I know for a fact I'm not purchasing expired food. I informed my neighbors of this issue and have had several others telll me they have been checking dates on food when they get home and have also found expired goods. Honestly, this experience deserves negative stars, they only got one because yelp wouldn't allow me to put zero stars. This was the WORST publix experience I have ever had, it's so disappointing. The deli manager Ray Ray was very rude and non accommodating . It felt as if we were putting her out of her way by spending money at your business. If I could give this store negative 5 stars I would. My friend was just harassed by management as well as 2 cashiers for having her service dog with her. Normally if we're just going out really quick she'll leave her in the car and won't put her vest on while she runs in (with the car on of course), but because of the hurricane that just went through you have to wait an hour to get gas, if you manage to find a station open, and her house is just as hot as the car. So she didn't have her service dog vest but just a normal harness. Im very thankful to the people who have to go to work in these awful conditions for the benefit of others and I understand everyone is probably cranky from not having electricity, but that is no excuse for the treatment we received today. They could've asked if she was a service animal but they didn't even bother, and when she tried explaining the situation it went completely over their heads and they wouldn't dare listen. read more
