This place sucks. I went there because I needed mayonnaise and I went home not realizing that it was expired. It had been expired for 2 months. I went back to exchange it and get my money back but they wouldn't even refund me for this mistake. They wouldn't call a manager for me speak to AND They wouldn't give me my money back for the inconvenience either. They had MULTIPLE expired mayonnaises on the shelf. DISGUSTING. read more

No cashiers at 7:30 in the morning. A cart full of groceries and you have to scan all the items yourself. The system doesn't work very well. The scale got to the point to where we had too much weight in it. We needed help five times. Simply have an active cashier working. read more

First let me say there are absolutely no incentives to go to Publix. They are overpriced , have no sales and no one to help you find things. Moving from Arizona we had Safeway which is great and Winn Dixie is similar. You can sign up online and save tons and they have lots of buy one get one specials , it's clean and the staff is great. Worth the drive. And they have items I have not seen for years line Arizona brand lemonade..I love it and it wasn't as crowded as Publix. read more

I have not been to a Winn-Dixie in over 10 years. Wow, what a makeover they've done. Superior to Publix by a mile. The store was very clean, plenty of people to help you with your search for items, and the prices were comparable or less than target. Even with the facelift, Winn-Dixie continues to have horrible quality control of their products. You can always find expired items in shelves... This is our local store & we shop here quite a bit. Everything about this place is rather average: service, quality, value, etc. A plus: cute small carts that everybody seems to love. Downer: they NEVER have any free samples, and I just love free samples. You have to shop carefully here because many things are wildly overpriced, but you can find a few bargains. The produce department is not so good & very expensive. Ditto with the bread department. read more

Very disappointed in Winn Dixies lack of safety policies in place for customers. Customers allowed to roam aisles in any direction without social distancing. Customers not required to wear masks. Several employees not wearing masks. Won't be back any time soon. read more

Among the worst grocery shopping experience I have had. Very short staffed. Had to bag my own groceries after standing in a check out line that closed after I was in it 19 minutes and had to go to another. Items for the shelter or some donation stacked at the beginning belt.the dog items kept belt getting mixed/confused with what was the customers items. Made it a pain to unload the cart. The poor clerk was totally overwhelmed. Not at all fair to the employee as people were getting pissed off. I will take my $350. 00 average food bill to Publics. read more

I'm sorry to say but I was very disappointed. First of all the shopping carts are not being sanitized. The place was pretty empty when I was there, I would question it what I would question empty restaurant. The fresh fruit and vegetables look fine but I cannot say I was impressed by the dislike of the meat and the fish look like it was old. I had trouble finding an item and I noticed a young boy stocking shelves. I excuse myself three times and he never hurt me because he had AirPods in his ears. To find someone to help me I went upfront and at first they just ignored me. You've got a lot of training ahead of you. Oh, and the background noise of some kind of motor is running made it hard for me to hear the clerk and vice versa. read more

This place has gone downhill. Come after 4:00 on a weekend and and they have one or two lanes open. Self checkout is open and half are card only. Customer service may be there or they maybe inside in the office. Shelves might be stocked but nine times out of ten they are most certainly sparse. They're a Publix literally a block down the road that's more expensive but you get better service and they actually have stocked shelves. The only reason I give this two stars is it's closer to my house but it's like Walmart at Christmas when it comes to lanes actually being open. read more

Here visiting family and came to the local grocer to get some dinner necessities. I grew up with Winn Dixe back home in Weatherford, TX. The staff was very friendly and had I needed help they would of helped I'm sure. The store was very clean and not crowded which is great if you are in a rush. The prices were low in comparison and the layout was practical. Convenient location, friendly staff, and low prices...tell me anything better!!! read more

Not a bad grocery store, pretty clean and tranquil compared to Walmart and Publix. Be prepared to spend a little extra cash here. I personally love the half buggies when shopping at Sweetbay. I never do Any serious shopping here, just a few quick picks and leave. When I do serious shopping, I buy my meats at Save a lot and my produce at the local farmers market. It's one of the clean and friendly groceries I had been in fort Myers. Produce is fresh and organize. Manager Frank in the meat section is an amazing man. Hands down my favorite place to shop in Fort myers. Some of the most friendly and diligent people to deal with. Store is always clean and nice. Not your typical store. I would put this store up against any store on swfl, yes including Publix. You get Walmart prices with a great experience. These guys are getting better.. Their fruit and veggies are really nice.. The place seems a little dark and the layout is bizarre.. You walk past the veggies and run into the bakery, hang a left and your headed to the meat section but there's a wall where some of the meat is blocking access to the entire center row of the store.. The other side of the store by the bathrooms seems like no mans land because I never see anyone over there. read more

Winn-Dixie used to be called the beef people an even though there are new owners-the meat is still better than Publix. This location is cleaner than most Winn-Dixie stores . . Ever since this store converted to a Winn-Dixie, all the nice, pleasant, attractive Sweetbay employees and shoppers (probably mostly from Pelican Preserve) have disappeared (actually some of the employees did stay but surely they must be embarrassed). The clientele is a lower income crowd now that eats only cheap crap (Hamburger Helper, sugar cereal, cheap soda, frozen hamburgers). They stock shelves mid-day and don't move out of the way for customers. I hate going here but it's so convenient. Guess I'll retrain myself to go back to Publix exclusively. What's a couple extra miles for that very nice shopping experience? read more
