I'm done spending my hard earned money for mediocre food. Went in tonight and for items for a cheese board. At 7:00 the olives were already put away. My husband grabbed a tres leches from the bakery. It was disgustingly dry and whipped creme was fake. You have to do better Publix or customers will Go elsewhere to spend their money. read more

Tonight, I had to reach out to the Publix located in Punta Gorda for assistance. For privacy purposes I can't explain the issue. Only that my mother was very sick and needed items from the store. Frustrated with delivery services due it being a late hour. I had help from an assistant manager Joey. He was able to help me come up with a solution. Public is a good place for some groceries. Prices are reasonable and I am satisfied most items are fresh so far. I especially like the cooked food that you can get at the deli area. Most dishes are between $5.99-$6.99. A great price for a lunch with two sides. I would recommend this place for those reasons. I left one star off because prices are not as low as WallM#%T and because they do not have a good coupon service online. To receive "mobile coupons" you need to subscribe on their web page and the number and use is not as frequent as other supermarkets! read more

I'm going with five stars for this location because it's clean, the people that work there are friendly, and they have a great selection of food items. It's been years since I've been able to find Sara Lee Pecan Coffee Cake but they had it. It's not their fault the recipe has changed and the coffee cake now sucks. Thankfully, the curt bakery lady stepped away & I leaped at the opportunity for the nice lady in the bakery to help me, & she so sweetly did. Let me make this perfectly clear from the start - I love Publix much more than the Kroger I'm accustomed to. Food selections are good and the sushi is absolutely fine for a light meal. Great store! Great people! A 5 star on that point! My raw point is the "cuban bread". Holy smokes - it's just some other baguette. I grew up on real Cuban bread in Tampa. The bread makes the sandwich, dinner, ect, and the Publix bread doesn't come close to authentic. Love their sandwich - hate the bread. Please Publix - make good Cuban bread rather than foisting a knock-off on us until no-one knows what Cuban bread is. read more

Publix employees are the best at the store by Burnt Store Road and route 41 in Punta Gorda. They set the standard for customer care in the Punta Gorda area. Their deli manager Dustin helped us out at Christmas. My wife and I had to cancel our Christmas trip on short notice because of being sick. We saw Dustin on 23 December and he rustled us up a turkey dinner for 49.99 that included everything we wanted. We just had to pop it in the oven for an hour. He waived the requirement that we had to order it a week before. He is just one example of the great employees that they have there. read more

This is a nice, little, clean Publix with a friendly staff. Fairly new on the interior and exterior, it meets all of my basic shopping needs. I have noticed that the selections of food are becoming more diverse and I am not certain if this is because the retirees are becoming more diverse or more adventurous; but something tells me that "adventure" has nothing to do with it. Parking can be somewhat difficult due to both the tight-spaces and the inability of many of our local inhabitants to understand how to drive down a one-way aisle nor how to park in said one way drives. read more

Update 6/15/18: one thing Publix had going for it was excellent NY potato salad - better than my homemade. They've now substituted a standard, industrial kitchen product, no doubt made in a chemical plant in NJ. One less reason to go to Publix. Update 6/24/18: latest victim, Hoffmann's Hots, both red and white, made in Syracuse NY. I guess not enough of us CNY transplants to justify a spot on the shelf. read more

I Always find fresh produce, lots of varieties of fruit, vegetables, fresh meat and seafood. Stores are well stocked and the whole personnel is always smiling and helpful.... The best subs there is!!! Customizable to your like, no request is denied and we can be pretty picky how we like them done ... kudos to deli ! Of course each Publix is different and ran differently.... you can tell which Publix has great ( better ) management how they treat their employees and how well they know how to order quality groceries for their store. One thing ... we do understand that there can not be any discrimination when hiring employees but for crying out loud I Am not going to let 90y old frail 4' lady to load my 4 cases of water and the rest of my groceries into my car. I own a car dealership and pay for my vehicles with money orders or cashiers checks. Usually I purchase money orders at Walmart but this time I was near this Publix and they gave me a very hard time. The amount was for a little over $4K and they treated me like a criminal and would not issue money orders. The lady was asking me questions that had nothing to do with me or them. And she told me it's the law we have to know where the money is going and what you are paying for...lol When I confronted her she told me there is a lot of scam going on...really? In Punta Gorda? Where 95% of the population are retired people? You have my driver's license, business checking card and a proof of a vehicle purchase and you are hinting that I'm conducting illegal activities? Just because I look like a foreigner and have an accent doesn't make me a criminal. If there was a problem with my driver's license or with my business checking card names not matching I would've understood but picking on a guy for no reason is a clear indication of racism. No wonder why no foreigner wants to live in a small city because the majority are racists and Trump supporters. Never coming back here again. read more

Clean,good selection of products. Great sandwiches (the freshly made ones at the deli). Good sales on some products. Found it strange that there are no "carousels" in the parking lot to leave your shopping cart. You either have to bring them back to the store or leave them in the lot. read more

My doctor called in my prescriptions at 10:30 AM. I verified that they had all been called in to the drug store. I waited a couple of hours and went to pick them up, but they did not have them from the doctor??? I called the doctor back and left a message and waited again. Still they did not come into the computer to their store that day. I had to go home without the medicine I needed. I went to the doctor and asked in the office what happened to the prescriptions and was told that they had been send. So I went to Publix at the Crossing again and after a heated battle at the counter, they decided they did have the prescriptions, but it would be a couple of hours before they could fill them. They were unprofessional and rude. They had my prescriptions and just didn't look on the computer for them until I got loud and ugly. These people do not have good sense. The prescriptions were there the whole time, but cost me 50 hours of driving and a extra day to get them. The next time I try to get my prescriptions filled with Publix at The crossing, they sent a text to me that 4 were ready and the price. I parked in the Handicap and managed to hobble into the store in great pain, just to find out they only had one ready and it would take another hour and a half for the rest. I had been waiting since 11:30 and it was after 5:00. That is just too long to have to wait for prescriptions especially when they texted that they were ready. That is just to keep you in the store to buy their over priced groceries. It was a dirty trick to pull on someone that struggles walk and in pain. read more

Best grocery chain around! Their subs, while priced like subway, are so amazing! Be sure to ask for Boars Head lunchmeat and be prepared to wait if going at lunch! The groceries aren't cheap but the service is unreal! read more

Publix has always set such high standards its hard to believe this Publix even exists. EVERY week there are several items (especially BOGO's) not stocked or just completely out of....off to the customer service desk for a raincheck....happens ALL the time. Combine that with a couple of departments not very customer friendly....a Publix hallmark. I've complained to management and Lakeland but have not seen any improvement. WE NEED A BIGGER AND BETTER STORE....better stocked with more variety and friendlier people. This is more like a Winn Dixie then a Publix....very disappointed!!!! read more

This Publix is the worst managed store we have ever been too. Unfortunately for us, we live 2 miles from the store and NEVER learn to take the extra 2 minutes to drive to the one on Burnt Store. The manager at this store is beyond incompetent. I'm not the type to leave any reviews, let alone negative ones. However, when you go to a store and EVERY trip is a disaster than you realize that it's the store. Today, I accidentally bought (4) Oatmeals that I thought were buy one get one. This was after I waited in line as usual since only 2 cashiers are working while 7 people (including the manager) stand around and watch. After I wait 10 minutes for an 82 year old to confirm that they aren't buy one get one free...I am sent to the customer service counter which I know from experience will be a disaster. The cashier tells me that I can't just leave them behind and buy my milk that I came in for and that she can't ring me up again. The incompetent manager (10 feet away), does nothing. When I get to customer service I am put in a line behind a gentleman with literally an overflowing shopping cart. No one in this store cares. The buy one get one frees are often not in stock. There is the rudest Asian lady who barely speaks English that takes orders for the cakes. (Ask me about my son's birthday cake that was enough to feed an army of one hundred because she doesn't understand what you are asking.) And if you really want to enjoy the trip, just soak up the crack heads and homeless who are in and out of this place. When will I ever learn? And when will Publix learn that this store manager just doesn't care? read more
