I just love this place! Not only an extensive selection, but so many unique, rare labels from Europe. As usual, I stocked up on Panini Sandwiches to go, as well as some desserts and baked items, like their amazing Scones. Also as usual, the staff were all very helpful and friendly. However, on this Saturday night (3/29th), we noticed how cold it was...MUCH colder than usual. Also, I didn't notice any overhead music playing... the usual classical music (which I love!). Unfortunately I'll have to deduct 1 star for the ambiance during our latest visit... too cold, and no classical overhead music. I'm sure to return...so hopefully I can upgrade the ratings again, as I feel this chain is one of the best in Charlotte. read more

Do not go to this store. The management is terrible. The meat department never has what you want. They were out of filet mignons at 5:00 p.m. today needed to cut some more but they were too busy helping other customers so there wasn't any available. You can't even call ahead to see if they have their normal inventory because they don't answer their phone. I'm going to Harris teeter to spend my $50 instead of at fresh market. This place has it all: A great selection of products, friendly staff, clean space with a good and comfortable distribution, and centrally located with its own free parking lot. I did not notice this market and I wish I had sooner!! I think this is such a great concept with fresh food, flowers, candies (salt water taffy!!), drinks, specialty items, fresh produce, meats and so many other items. The shop is easy to get around and find what you need and the Staff is very friendly and helpful. They introduce themselves, will check in the back for you and basically help you when you are in need. I have always found something new to work with and as a professional chef I enjoy smaller markets like this to find items for me in my personal life. I have yet to be disappointed and find that they always have the items I need and do not run out of much. Pricing is not cheap but also not outrageous for the quality you are getting. Plenty of parking in the Carmel Commons Center. I recommend this location and this market. read more

This fresh market is smaller than the other locations and Charlotte in the store layout is different. It is located in a shared shopping center so there's plenty of parking. The staff are friendly, but limited as they could always hire more it appears. The store is well lit and clean. They have a rewards program that you can sign up for online where you can clip coupons and use it for their meal deals. They have great quality produce and I quite enjoy their meal deals and catering orders. The items they carry are always in stock. Happy shopping! read more

Fresh Market is trying hard to be a full supermarket and they do have a great selection of lots of stuff, but they are very much about the food items. Whether it's produce, antipasti, seafood or butchery, bakery and wines, they have all of that in spades. The store is not very large and they pack it in pretty tight with aisles that are big enough to pass two carts just barely. I had a short list from Mrs. K. and I was able to get those things here easily. And maybe a few too many other things that looked really yummy. Never shop hungry. Oops. read more

Excellent variety of fresh foods and Easy to prepare meals! Their meal deal is amazing value $20 for a main, sides, bread and dessert! This last week was awesome with pork bbq kebabs, vegetables, pasta salad, bread and cookies for dessert. I love their chicken pot pies also for buttery crust and yummy flavors of chicken and vegetables. So many wonderful things here including Jenni's ice cream!! I love Gooey butter cake flavor and Salted Caramel ice cream by Jenni!! I also like how they're cleaning and keeping everything covered since the pandemic changed how we shop. I love Fresh Market. There are so many fresh and organic items. This location is very clean and the sales staff is very helpful and friendly I go on Tuesday for the ground chuck $299 special and the reduced chicken breast price. They grind the beef on site so it's very fresh The deli counter is nice. I love the tuna salad. They have several kinds of chicken salad. The meatballs and meatloaf is good too. The cold salads are made on site so they are fresh I like the olive bar and the roasted chickens. It's easy to get a quick meal There is a great selection of desserts,too This location isn't as large as some. There is no wine chiller and not as many household items. I went to the Fresh Market store in Strawberry Hill Charlotte, NC on Thanksgiving day to purchase some $6.00 pizzas as they are on sale every Thursday. However when I went there and was in the checkout lane they told me that they were on on sale because it was Thanksgiving. Really? So we left. The next week we went back to the store 11/30 and tried to buy 4 Greek pizzas. It rang up $36.75 on the register. I told the cashier that 4x6 = $24.00 plus tax not $36.75. She said I'll have to speak to her manager. So the manager (Halley Banks) is called to the register. She told me that I could only buy 2 pizzas at that price. I asked why? She said that everyone would buy the pizzas' and there would be none left for others! I said really? That's what you;re worried about? There was no mention of a 2 pizza limit on the sale sign and I pointed that out to her. She said then don't shop here at which point I told her to take her 4 pizzas as I won't be shopping in any Fresh Market anymore! She said "We don't want you shopping with us either" Wow! Walking into Fresh Market, I feel immediately relaxed by the classical music playing overhead. I also feel a little -- dare I say? -- fancy. Fresh Market is a chain, but it feels like an independent specialty food market. The fruits and veggies are comparably priced to your local Harris Teeter and you can usually find a few extra veggies (organic varieties, too!) that you wouldn't normally find at the Teeter. The meats and cheeses are a little too pricey for my budget, but I love looking at them in the cases nonetheless. The breads and flavored coffees smell delicious, and they have a great selection of premade dishes (salads, entrees, sandwiches, etc.) if you want to grab lunch to go or bring something home for dinner when you're in a time crunch (or can't cook). We stopped in this Fresh Market earlier in the week and got some great ideas for future meals to try. Since we weren't going immediately home, I couldn't stock up on all the things I wanted to. Refrigerated items don't tend to do well in car trunks for hours. I did browse and buy some of their fresh spices, though. (Not to mention some fresh rosemary focaccia for dipping in olive oil!) They have a wall of fresh spices in little Ziploc baggies that are usually much cheaper than the ones sold in the spice aisle in jars. If you've got a spice rack (or extra jars) at home, this is the way to go. Every time I leave a Fresh Market with my bag o' goodies, I think, "Why don't I come here more often?" read more

I've been coming to TFM for my meats since moving to Pineville. I can't typically find Lamb Chops and they always have them and fresh. The produce is always so bright and fresh so no complaints there. The cashiers are always so nice, not always smiling which doesn't matter to me be REAL lol but their always kind and courteous. The prices are maybe a bit higher than some of their competitors or a smaller selection but I've never received a bad product. Let's get to what prompted me to do a review which I thought I did before. Shame on me. I never had a bad experience until today in the meat department which prompt'd me to update my review then noticed I never did one. I'm hoping TFM reads their good and bad reviews and hopefully something positive comes out of this experience. Went to get fish for taco night and was hoping the butcher could cube some cod or pollock since it's hard to find cubed in any frozen food section. There were 2 butchers cleaning in the back which I kept pacing hoping one would see me, I hate yelling or raising my voice can come off rude. One of the guys locked eyes on me or at least I thought but 5 mins later still me just pacing no service. Another guy walks up and one of the guys immediately walks and assists him he waited maybe 3 seconds. Not saying this was intentional but it made my visit unpleasant. After waiting for 10 mins this entire time I just walked away. 7:30pm (2/5/20) in case someone actually wants to address this. Oh well My recommendation to TFM is to maybe add a bell or an alert function so this doesn't happen to another frequent customer. My rating is on my past experiences not today. Heard about complete dinners in a box - all the ingredients and you prepare at home. Live to cook and have to give them a try. I purchased the Pork Chop dinner for two - two boneless chops, asparagus and mashed sweet potatoes. Followed thE dIrections - very easy, Anne enjoyed a delicious dinner. They had several dinner S to choose from, and the price is not bad. It has everything needed, olive oil, spices - you just need the pan and stove! I'll be checking out the other dinners. The Big Deal is a BIG FAIL! And, other mishaps. I received an email advertising fajitas for a dinner special and went by to get some. Not only did they only have the corn tortillas, but they only had the taco simmer sauce, no fajita simmer sauce (is this tacos or fajitas???). They also said they were substituting a broccoli salad instead of the advertised corn salad or texas caviar, in spite of the fact that they had plenty of the texas caviar sitting in the deli case. What a mess! If this were a first, I wouldn't be here, but it isn't. In addition, I was charged double for an item and when I asked the cashier to correct it, she was none too happy about being bothered (as though I was?!) There is simply no decent customer service in this store any more (and it goes back before the pandemic) and I no longer find it pleasant to shop here, so I will do so very seldom in the future. read more

Today, I wandered into The Fresh Market, desperate to get the spouse a Valentine's gift. They had an assortment of Valentine Cards and gift bags as well as boxed chocolate covered strawberries. YUMMY. I also got a lot of plastic box containers of different dried fruits, some covered in chocolate and some not. It was a fast stop, but a productive visit. Don't count on it being a bargain (it's certainly not a Trader Joe's), but I could spend hours and hundred of dollars here without even knowing it. Love it! read more

Know what? You can't buy toilet paper at the Fresh Market. I hate that. Otherwise, it's a great store. It's pricey, but it's worth it for the quality merchandise you find. The bakery section alone is worth a trip here...and the deli sandwiches are spectacular. I try to avoid their produce unless I'm looking for something really particular that I can't find elsewhere, as they are overpriced and Earth Fare or Trader Joe's usually has the same stuff (plus, it'll be more likely to be organic there). Fresh Market also has good options for dinner. We generally love the ready made food at Fresh Market - it's very good (although pricey). The turkey bolgenese, chicken salad, and elote corn are some of our favorites. The fresh produce is amazing also. We were recently disappointed by the bakery. We bought several treats - the ricotta cheesecake cake, brownie cheesecake and the almond croissant. Over the last few months during the pandemic, I have had to ask staff persons in the meat department to put on gloves. Each time there is an excuse why they don't need to since their hands are not touching the fish. According to the manager, they are supposed to wear gloves. This has happened so many times, I will discontinue going to the store. Also, I have to ask the cashiers to sanitize their hands before handling my foods. Most of the time, they can upset. read more

The food is overpriced and I was chastised by the cashier for allowing my 15 month old to eat an apple before checking out. Superior stores, such as Whole Foods and ever Harris Teeter, have a program to allow this, so I figured it wouldn't be frowned upon. We enjoy the fresh ground beef from Fresh Market. However, the employees in the Meat Department are very rude. Especially the manager, Scott. I came in to get a turkey today and he gave me a bunch of attitude and implied my husband lied or was an idiot because he didn't have an order for us. Then called me "babe." Though I tried to speak with the store manager, he told me he was busy and I would have to wait. Wait I did. For 15-20 minutes. He never came back. Lina, the cashier, was super helpful and was able to locate the order for my holiday turkey. However, I decided not to purchase it from this store. I love this place! I saw another poster that said their bakery is "sad". I don't know what you mean! Their bakery is top notch and nothing like what Publix has. It's well made, high quality ingredients, and expertly displayed baked treats! The vegetables here are high quality and presented so nicely. They have the biggest honey crisp apples I've ever seen! Twice baked potatoes are incredibly yummy; their granola is divine and they always have the stuff no one else has! I love The Fresh Market. It's great! read more

I have been to this Fresh Market a lot over the years. Back in the day it was the grocery store that was different. Fresher, you know? Now with the other grocery stores doing what they have to gain marketshare, this location and maybe the entire store seem a bit dated IMO. I went in to buy flowers since they have always had a great selection and good pricing. Since it's been a while I waled through. I have grown to like the wide aisles and big selection of the other stores. Fresh Market just seems crowded and walking around there isn't a real flow. The meat counter was understaffed although there was a nice selection. Walking up and down the aisles there was some pretty good stuff and I found what I wanted. Cashiers were friendly and the experience was good. The "buggys" were the older metal kind and were dated and rusty. Definitely time for an upgrade. We all know that in Charlotte we have plenty of grocery stores so you're not stuck to one location or one store because surely there is a Harris Teeter on the next corner from wherever you are.
