A Publix is a Publix is a Publix, which is why they are generally excellent grocery stores. Publix thy name is consistency! Their products, service, organization, & cleanliness are standard across the board. This location; however, is on the small side, which is strange since it serves the quickly growing area of New Tampa (not far from the Pasco County line). Management here could do better to be more visible. Of the many Publix stores I frequent over two counties, thus far this one's management & employees have been the least visible & friendly. HOWEVER, the middle-aged gentleman cleaning carts & greeting patrons as they enter the store is WONDERFUL! Thank you, management, for hiring him & blessing us w/ him. Regardless of my mood, he makes me smile each time we converse:) There is a pharmacy here, curbside pickup, & even a catering area (table & chairs) for meetings w/ a knowledgeable staffer. I've never seen an in-store catering area at any other Publix-- it's perfect for party-planning, Christenings, graduations, birthday celebrations, weddings, baby showers, etc. Also available at this store are the dreadful job-costing self checkouts for customer convenience. All Publix stores change their Weekly Specials on Wednesdays. And each has in place a policy for customers to receive any wrong-priced (incorrectly scanned) item for free-- limit one per item type. Online ordering for store pickup is quick & easy. The bakery staff here, and at all Publix locations, will special order items. If they won't, contact corporate for a revision. (I was denied certain varities of no sugar added pies at certain locations until I sent an email; corporate was always quick to respond & assist-- an impressive Florida company!) The store is bright & clean. Parking is ok; it's a smallish, very busy lot due to all the successful enterprises located within this same New Tampa Center plaza. They include a very active McDonald's in eye shot, the Minerva Indian restaurant, Coast Dental, H & R Block, Caldwell Bankers, GNC, & others. read more

Clean store, lots of lovely hot soups, tons of fresh fruits and vegetables. Beautiful flowers were tempting, as was the hot deli with their wonderful fried chicken, but we grabbed chili for lunch this visit. Not terribly helpful or friendly staff but we got what we needed and left. read more

I feel like I go to Publix every day, but it really is the most convenient place to go food shopping and customer service is top notch. The produce is always fresh and they have a good meat and seafood selection. $5 sushi on a Wednesday is a treat too. I stay away from the bakery and deli because I try to watch my figure, but it's hard not to notice, everything is so beautifully presented, and it looks so tasty. The staff is always on hand to help with any inquiries. I always have a pleasant experience at Publix, particularly this location. read more

This review pertains to the deli hot foods. I purchased two large orders of popcorn chicken only to find that almost the entire order was just fried breading. If I wanted salty seasoned breading, I would have just went to KFC and really abused my coronaries. Instead I would have been better off getting my son a 4 piece McDonald's nugget order dipped in saw dust. I expect much more from a business like Publix. The store needs to wear some Sketchers rocker bottom shoes and "shape up" because they will get stomped on if they continue this nonsense. The 1/5 star is given to be analogous to the fraction of actual chicken to breading. read more

One of the best supermarkets around. Hands down the best customer service across the land. Right up there with Chic-fil-A! Publix is always clean and their food & products are the freshest and best of the best. If you're having a party be sure to contact their catering department, their fruit trays, cheese platters, sandwich platters and chicken fingers platters are to die for! Seriously....SOOOO GOOD! If Publix just so happens to get your order wrong (doubt it) they have a guarantee policy called the Publix Promise where you get the item for free and they refund you your money. That's pretty amazing as I don't think any another grocery chain does that. For special occasions such as birthday parties or office parties we always order a Publix cake. That's standard policy! Everyone knows that if the cake has not come from Publix it's probably not going to get eaten. Publix has added curbside to go to their list of amenities which means you can order your groceries online and they will shop for you and bring the groceries out to your cart. Also, certain locations use Instacart for this type of service as well. One of the main reasons why customers continually shop at Publix is because of their weekly specials which always feature amazing BOGO deals. Beware!!! Due to corona virus we ordered through the publix app for delivery. When items arrived we were shorted $24 in turkey cutlets and some corn. When I called new tampa store customer service I was told it's not there problem I would have to contact instacart their delivery service which I tried but got no response either by phone or e-mail. After a few days we sent e-mail to publix corporate and have not received any response from them. I believe if I order from a publix app it's there responsibility to satisfy their customers. I shouldn't have to get the run around and still not get any satisfaction. Guess I'm the future I'll be taking my business elsewhere Still no satisfaction from either publix or instacart. New Tampa Publix (Cross Creek/New Tampa Blvd.) has the most kindest, caring and considerate people and it is such a pleasure to know each and every one of them. Last Friday afternoon, a Pilot van pulled in next to my jeep and i couldn't get in. The staff at Publix, not only took picture and tried to ask the customer to come out and move their vehicle, they checked on me numerous times, they stayed with me and offered suggestions, and one of the gentlemen fixed the problem for me and i was on my way. I failed to get their names but the whole experience I am completely appreciative meeting them and feel very good about our future with folks like Publix hires. read more

I never thought I would describe a grocery store as beautiful and lively but that's how I want to describe this Publix! I stepped in to get a couple of things (I'm visiting the area, so no extensive grocery shopping for me), and I left a happy camper! Parking is easy to find. As soon as I walked in, everything was just flowing smoothly and the staff actually looked happy and nice. I walked around (looking for the pre-made deli sandwiches), but to not waste anymore time, I stopped an employee working the floor and asked for her help! She didn't just stop and tell me, she asked me how I was and actually walked me to the section. I had to walk across the store to the bottled fruit juices, and with that, I was able to get a glance down every aisle. Everything was clean and well-stocked. There were also several employees on the floor cleaning up and restocking/reorganizing. When I went to check-out, I was most surprised! Most of the cashiers were college-age, so I (guiltily) assumed the worst - maybe not the worst but definitely not the best. I was so pleasantly surprised! There was a woman ahead of me in line, and the cashier's interaction with her was great! The woman asked the cashier if she knew where this item would be (not knowing the brand/etc.) and the cashier not only heeded her question but she was so willing to go look for it, if the customer wanted. I rarely hear cashiers OFFER to go out of their way, so it was really nice. She was also kind to me and asked me if I found everything okay/how my day was/etc., and while that is to be expected from a customer service associate, it's not commonplace these days, so it definitely made me a happy customer. My items were bagged, and I was on my merry way. It took a little while to get out of the plaza, but that's not Publix's fault at all, so, just a tip! read more

Still 4 stars but they could have easily gotten a 5 from me, but their pharmacy is lacking in quality customer service. The only reason why I have my prescription filled here is because of the free medication. You say why complain about free meds? Because I take all my paid medication to Walgreens. I dropped off my script almost one year ago and 9 months later, they still can't call me to inform me that my medication is ready for pickup. The ballsy part is they call me to remind me that I need to pick it up since it has been sitting there for a week. I inform them that they would need to call me to tell me that it is ready before they can call me to remind me that I need to pick it up. Last week, my son needed a prescription filled and since I was reminded to come pick up my personal meds, I thought I would give Publix another try. They told me that it would be ready in 25 mins, so I went shopping for groceries. When I came back, the assistant told me that my son has no coverage. I looked at her like she was crazy. She asked me if I have recieved anything new from the insurance company and I told her that the only thing new is a new card with the exact same information on it. She told that she couldn't help me. I shook my head and left to Walgreens. Walgreens had no problems with it. I don't know what is wrong with this pharmacy, but they are lacking in the customer service department. They need to get on board with the philosophy of the company on going above customer expectation. read more

Their bogos are always great and the employees are always pleasant and wanting to help you to your car even if you don't need it. This review is specific to the bakery/bread area...in exploring my options and attempting to determine the freshness of the product on the shelf; I asked an employee what was the date in which the product was baked? (Rather than the sell by date). Despite the fact that this is an obvious question for bakery products, the employee response was one of attitude and frustration as she just told me all they have is the sale by date...noted, suggest Publix label their bakery products with the "baked on" date or I'll take my business to where they understand the importance of the question read more

I absolutely love this Publix location. Parking is usually not too bad but at times the parking lot can get hectic with shoppers. It is always clean and tidy which is important to me. I'm always greeted by friendly staff which is pleasant. I like how they occasionally offer free, fresh cookies at the bakery. I usually do not have problems finding what I need at this location. However, at times I will walk in to see the store has been rearranged which can be a little stressful when you're in a rush. There is almost always a line for the pub subs. But it is worth it. I recommend the Bucs sub with Cajun turkey and chipotle gouda cheese! It will not disappoint. The only real issue worth mentioning is the checkout lines, but that can be said for any grocery store. Overall, I consistently receive better than average service here. read more

I will no longer shop at Publix due to their unethical practices during COVID-19 they increased their prices and devised way to confuse customers. I am not sure if they just hired a new marketing person. But they need to know we pay extra at Publix for the convenience and the treatment. From year to year , the quality of service in this Publix is deteriorating. After 5 pm you can notice significantly empty isles that makes you go to other locations. One night I came around 7 o clock, there were no bananas, no strawberries, no Chicago-Italian bread, no plane chicken wings (not even to make for you if you are willing to wait), and no low fat Danon yogurt.. I was very disappointed. I spoke with the CS manager , and of course he apologized saying that he would talk with the grocery and other managers , but since then, I haven't seen any improvement. I go to the Publix on Bruce B Downs everyday everyone knows me I spent almost $100 there everyday. I was shocked to see the little signs that the employees have to wear no tipping who cares if they get a couple dollars there in college there in school for gas money what's it up to you to make them wear a sign saying No tipping you should be ashamed of yourself taking the few dollars away from them if somebody wants to tip so be it always trying to take a dime away whoever started that or whoever made them where those signs is a disgrace. Like I said if people want to tip that's up to them these kids never ask for money everyone in there is so nice and this was a turn-off I hope you make them take those signs off of them who gives you that right..!!! I'm serious I'm going to make a big deal if I go in there and see them with those tags on again take it off it's very tacky. Normally a decent experience. They say it only takes one bad experience to ruin everything, well today was it. I've ALWAYS found their meat and seafood selection horrible and normal groceries ridiculously overpriced. I dealt With it because of convenience. Today I had A question for the butcher and there was none to be found anywhere. Went to the seafood department to buy shrimp, well the employee carried on a five minute conversation with a friend (who wasn't buying anything) while ignoring me. When it finally came to me, another customer walked in front of me and the employee helped him first. I realize that part is not the employee's fault however he could have told the rude customer I was Waiting first. At checkout they asked if I found everything ok and I explained what happened. She apologized. After ringing everything up I realized My wallet fell out in the car. My 13 year old daughter waited while I ran Out to the car. She said while I was Out there the bagger asked the cashier why I was Less than happy then when she told him he shrugged his shoulders, rolled his eyes, and said "oh well". This is my goto Publix. This is the one that confuses me every time I go into another Publix because they have my stuff on different aisles. Why is that?! Publix is about as consistent as you can get from a large chain when it comes to friendliness and service. They will special order anything for you, issue rain checks, and provide refunds without questioning. Crowded, long lines, and food isn't fresh. Stopped here instead of my usual Publix location just the other day... Went to pick up a chicken ceasar salad from the deli and the leaves we're turned- soggy and browning- looked at the date and it still has two days left to sit out... Then looked for another salad with turkey and ham and the same thing. So then I went in search for sushi and grabbed one... But when I opened it at home, half of it was thrown together and sloppy so I ate it with a spoon, the avocado was browning, and except for the sauce on the outside and wasabi that I added, had very little flavor. Publix is always consistent with its cleanliness and helpful staff. An employee will walk around the whole store to find something you are looking for. They recently placed trashcans at the end of the aisles for even more convenience. The samples are always fresh and delicious. I love the recipes offered too. The check out lines are never too crazy compared to other local grocery stores. Everyone in the various departments are helpful and invite you back too! The cashiers often help you out with finding coupons for your order which is perfect help for this day and age! read more

This Publix is great. We just moved to the area and this Publix quickly became the go to grocery store. Most of my grocery trips start at the deli where I get a delicious sub. What I particularly like about this publix deli is that when a line starts to form, one or two more employees show up to start making sandwiches. The store is always very clean. Employees are around every corner to help you find what you are looking for. This Publix is always super clean. Last time I went, they were staffed really well. I have never had to wait for a long time in a line to check-out there. I like to use the Publix ad to assist with my shopping and this store has them located before you walk all the way inside the store. Yes, they can be pricey but if you know what you are looking for, chances are you can find the savings deals. I always come out saving money and that makes me feel like I did a good job. Also, I've heard they are going to start taking competitors coupons. I'd ask before trying it, but if that is true, the savings will be amazing. I am really sad that I am moving away from this Publix because it is by far the best one I have ever been in. read more
