    Hot bar looks promising!
    Angela F. W.

Since moving back to Tally, I've gone to a few Publix. This one is by far the best IMO. Store is very clean and organized. Parking is easy to find. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I've tried the hot sub at their deli which was deff decent. I also bought a big chocolate cake from the bakery for a dinner at a friend's house and ppl all liked it. They do also have a soup and salad bar and a hot bar with some Chinese fare. I now realized that HEB was actually much bigger and had way more selections. Guess I took that for granted when I lived in Texas. So I do wish they had a bigger selection on certain sections though and wish for a cafe on the run like the one at the awesome ALON MARKET HEB. Overall, this Publix is that friendly neighborhood grocery store you wish you had. But I got it right here by my side so be jealous!

Publix is the best in the Tallahassee area no matter what the store policy's are and national politics are . Publix main mission is to sell the best groceries. Treat all customers as royalty. The fact that people in this line of business are actually Frount line workers and get very little recognition or respect for the wonderful work they do , is a very sad situation for such wonderful folks . I would give them 10 stars if I could .

    Chicken tender sandwich

We don't have a Publix where I'm from, but it's very similar to Whole Foods or Central Market. Was recommended to make a pit stop to grab some lunch along my trip dow Florida and one happened to be along the way. Inside the grocery store, there's a deli/restaurant where you can order food. There was a variety of different choices, but I ended up getting the chicken tender sandwich. Wow. The portions were huge! It also tasted great with a big choice of condiments and toppings. The cherry on top though has to be the free complimentary coffee. Would definitely recommend to check to place out if you want to grab a bite to eat!

My husband and I went to the Flavor's of Cuba Apron's demonstration as a celebration for my birthday. It was awesome! I can't believe I had not been before! We had five courses of Cuban food, all paired with wines. It was like watching a cooking show, but getting to eat it afterwards! My favorite dish was the rum cake! Also, the cuban sandwiches with black bean soup was super good! Five courses can be so filling, but they offer to-go boxes if you can't finish everything. We also got printed recipes of everything made throughout the night. The recipes were somewhat more complicated than the simple meals I usually make, but the class inspired me to try new things with cooking. The price for the Apron's demonstration seemed a little steep a first, but it was so worth it, for all the food, wine and entertainment we got. I would love to go back for more demonstrations or hands on classes!

Right before closing not to hectic.

Clean and Big... My second favorite Publix in Tally its the same distance as the public near me but is a much larger store. Carries fresh seafood, has cooking classes and big vegetables section. They also carry a wide selection of of cooking utensils and pots of things. Not a fan of the parking lot one of the main reasons I go to the other location. Although the store is bigger I find more of the ideas I want at the other location. But it's very well organized and all fully stocked aisles that are clean. I like to go right when they open or right before they close but never at 4pm-6pm.

When another Publix told me they weren't accepting any orders for cakes, I called the Thomasville Road Village Square location right away. I asked them to hold a quarter sheet cake from the reach in for me to pick up. When I arrived, one of the bakery staff overheard my plight and she said I COULD order a cake and walked me over to the event planning desk. Excellent service, and was even able to order a deli platter. Publix is the best

That said, if you manage to survive the death trap of the parking lot, this Trader Joe's isn't half bad. I mean, it's small compared to the one I'm used to in South Florida, but it still retains the charm of any Trader Joe's. The staff is genuinely polite and willing to go out of their way to help you. On my last visit, there was a spill on the floor and not only did they make sure I saw it, but they cleaned it up swiftly. Now I do have to say that the placement of products is a tad odd. I was looking for frozen mini baguettes and it took two visits for me to find them. Apparently these were in the middle of the frozen vegetables section, which frankly makes no sense to me, but okay - you do you, boo boo. I honestly should've asked beforehand about that placement, but eh, when you're in a rush, well - you forget things. At any rate, pleased this is up here in Tallahassee, but the placement next to Starbucks is just seriously encouraging my already terrifying coffee addiction.

Second of all, every time I've gone and shopped here, I have encountered the friendliest staff around. They're always asking if I need help in anything or even if I'd like to try any of their products. I went in to buy some kombucha and they're selection is the best in Tally! On top of that, they had a BOGO! I was beyond excited. I shopped around their produce and found an amazing avocado deal. 5 avocados for $3. The store is very clean and spacious with lots of lighting. I love that you can find organic products hard to find elsewhere at a great price. Quality of produce is high here. They have a coffee bar area to work inside and seating outside too! If you get hungry, they have many options that are healthy and yummy! I tried their verde chicken fresh out of the stove. I could taste very ingredient in it. I can't wait to be back and try their burrito bowls! I have to mention that their rewards program gave me a five dollar discount on everything I bought. It's super close to FSU and love everything about it! Oh, I was impressed by their faucets in their restrooms. They had a three step faucet integrated with a dryer in it.

I had hoped to have some good background on this decades-old Frenchtown market but I'm coming up…read moreshort right now. I'd encourage anyone with insights on the history of this store to contribute. I do know, from the folks behind the counter these days, that it's been around for "over forty years" - I suspect it's well over that; my sense is that it's probably from the late forties/early fifties judging from its current layout/amenities. What has intrigued me for quite some time is the signage and its old-time font/coloration/layout. Having come three times over that past two weeks, I can say that this would be where I'd come if I were seeking out "the good stuff" for making up meals focused on commensality. Commensality is a good word that I learned recently. There's a great book ("Commensality: From Everyday Food to Feast") that delves into this important social act - one that I fear we experience less and less. Check it out. I associate the Fourth Avenue Super Market with commensality because the produce and the butcher-counter are chockful of items that simply aren't made for a single person - perhaps not even for a single family. Take, for example, the "Soul Bag". I'm not entirely certain what offal, cuts or livestock byproducts are within it - but I suspect that it contains the central cast of characters for a centerpiece dish for a large gathering of gourmands and gourmets alike. You don't buy the Soul Bag to take it back home and serve up two portions. At least, I wouldn't. Perhaps I'm overly romanticizing this store - that's quite possible. I fear that with the rapidly encroaching gentrification of Frenchtown, the Fourth Avenue Super Market risks being swept away within the coming decade to make way for something brighter and shinier. I hope that isn't the case - and that it continues to exist as it does today. If you love Tallahassee and history in general, I'd encourage you to come here at least once, if only to pick up a cold drink in the back coolers. Come on in and walk the aisles - and take yourself back in time.

People I know stop at Piggly Wiggly weekly. I had even shopped there before. We just call it the Pig. As I walk to the doors there are several people there asking for money of just laying around the buggies outside. It looked like someone poured out a liquid that smelled like piss. Walking in you see the guards, but a first glance it looked passable in the clean department. How wrong I was! As I pass the purple onions you can see the mold on them. You could see them putting out another veg and they just put new over the old. So I flip the meal plan in my head and head to the meat section. 1. Paid over $24 for a pork tenderloin plus the 10% at checkout for something that was not fully pork. 2. Upon opening the package, the amount of liquid that came out could have filled up 2 cups. 3. While seasoning one end you could see where it wasn't what the label said. It was several chunks of fat and some meat where they used Transglutaminase throughout the full "tenderloin". 4. You could taste chicken, pork, and God only knows what else it tasted like. I thought it tasted like the plant sausages I picked up once. 5. Instead of being a gift to my kids It caused us to get sick and miss a very important doctors visit. 6. When you cook the meat is shrinks by half. If your having to cook twice as much as normal to feed the family then why not go somewhere else to get food that you know is better for cheaper than what you have to buy to feed your family. 7. How many times have you been sick after eating food bought from there? How many times has the NP or Dr at bond fussed at you for your sugar level, Cholesterol, blood pressure, or weight and you are doing what they said? How many times did you say F it and stopped caring what bond says and stopped going to the Dr or NP? What all are they putting in our foods? How much more will they push? Till someone passes away? Because it's not on the label and it is suppose to be! Now I know why our friends who shop there weekly stay sick so much. We have recommended that they shop somewhere else as well. We are going to get together every other week to take a drive further out to shop at other places. This way we can get what we pay for. Wally world isn't any better. So to save us money and we don't get sick again we will take a trip to a different town to save our lives from what might happen in the future. If the store is so bad that guards are needed then why not clean it up. It is because they want max profit in an area that needs to be in better health knowing we are limited on options. So I recommend to travel as a group to so save on gas and gives real options for the same amount I spent at the pig. Just because our budgets are limited and gas is expensive doesn't mean we will take this. For those who don't know, Transglutaminase is an enzyme that creates protein cross-links by binding amino acids (glutamine & lysine) together. Providing structural strength to proteins in cells in the food. It is commonly known as "Meat Glue".
