Publix is a big grocery store in downtown Tampa with free parking. The store was pretty big, well organized, crystal cleaned aisles and well stocked! This store has its own pharmacy. You can find great selection of food, fruits and veggies...value wise for some items they were promotions so overall it was a great short trip for us we found what we came for!

If you aren't eating Publix hot wings, you are missing out! We discovered these gems while at a hotel on the east coast, during an ugly rainy day. We spent the day at the pool, which was covered and decided to walk over to Publix, next door, for something to eat. We got regular wings that time and were so impressed with the flavor and texture. Since than this has become a regular occurring meal of getting Publix wings and picking up a frozen pizza. The last time and today we got the breaded Hot and Spicy and these are phenomenal! So much flavor, a good crunch, a tad bit of spice and overall enjoyable. I highly recommend the Publix wings for ypur next party, get together, or just a meal at home.

Publix offers a large variety of options to their shoppers. From a hot bar to $5 beers all the time and fresh smoothies you can't go wrong with this place. They have something for everyone literally! I enjoyed a hot oatmilk ginger chai latte which was very warming on a cool Saturday morning. Love Publix, stop by and check em out when you are in the area. Parking is available via parking garage.

Unknown hard object found in my veggie wrap!
    Tina L.

I ordered a veggie wrap yesterday & when I bit into the 2nd half of my wrap I crunched down on something hard & to my suprise it was shaped like a seed or nut but very hard & it almost chipped my tooth. This was very unsafe & could of been alot worse & I was extremely concerned. So I reached out to publix & they had no so they explanation so they refunded me the price of the wrap & made me another one. Easy fix for publix but very scary for me to have an unknown object that was not edible in my wrap.

Difficult to get to, you have to park in the garage and then take an elevator. Very noisy with constant music playing. Hot soup available. Friendly employees and a place to sit upstairs on the second floor if you bought food, you want to eat , but there are knives and spoons, but no forks.

We don't have Publix where we're from, but we had heard about the Pub Subs and wanted to try them. There were lots of options to choose from. It didn't disappoint.

THIS STORE AND THE STAFF IS AMAZING! My organization held a giveback event stuffing boxes of Hope for Metropolitan Ministries. The store manager, Billy, and his staff knocked it out of the park. Billy advance ordered the products. He helped us pick the best "deal" from the ads to stretch our donation dollars even further. The store held the groceries allowing us to pay the day before the event once all our donations had been collected. But here is where they went above and beyond.... We were all flying in from out of town, his staff delivered several truck loads to our conference hotel. Thanks to the generosity and hard work of the staff at the Channelside Publix we were able to build 300 Boxes of Hope food boxes. We could not have done this without their help!

My daughter a child with plastic the wash in the sandwich from the cold cuts. This lady knew it was plastic in it, she didn't even warn me I thought this was the end of my daughters life. You guys need to be careful at least tell people where you put in their food.

New Publix Supermarket, off Twiggs & Meridian, by Channel Club Apartments, Channelside, Downtown Tampa
    Brian M.

I'm so glad the Publix Supermarket at Channelside finally opened! This Publix Supermarket is the first large supermarket in downtown Tampa and was very badly needed as the closest supermarket in the area was a very small half sized Publix off Bayshore a couple miles from Downtown and definitely not within walking distance which caused a hurdle for those desiring to go car-free on the weekends. This downtown Publix is a good indicator that Downtown Tampa is getting better and better! This Publix is located off Lois and Meridian at the base of Channel Club High Rise Apartments and is next to Kennedy Grand Central, Bell Channelside, Ventana, Slade, The Place, The Fitzgerald, Crunch Fitness Gym, Maloneys Irish Pub, and the Hideaway Sushi Lounge. There is free parking located on the 2nd floor of the Channelside Club Apartments garage, a lounge for enjoying food on second floor, elevators, and stairs that take patrons down to the supermarket on the 1st floor. This Publix offers made to order sandwiches, salads, fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, cookies, cakes, pies, cuts of fresh meats, cuts of fresh seafood, sushi, deli cuts, and other baked goods by the deli. I really like when the bakery department makes cakes for holidays and big events like hurricanes and football games. I like taking advantage of Publix's great bogo deals and half off sushi on Wednesday's! If i would make one suggestion, that would be for publix to add a hot food buffet bar like at Whole Foods! Everyone's been very nice and helpful on my visits to the store. I really like Publix's apple pie, Boston cream pie, chocolate chip cookies, boats head Salsalito turkey, and Cajun turkey. I look forward to many visits here in the future!

They have over 300 artisanal, imported and domestic cheeses, I find something new every time I go! The ambiance is what makes it special to locals, it feels like stepping into a traditional Italian market and it's hard to find elsewhere in Tampa. Definitely a staple for St. Pete! The market is almost always busy, so go right when they open or later in the afternoon on weekdays or you'll be standing shoulder to shoulder and wait 15 to 30 minutes, but honestly that time is perfect for browsing everything! My go to orders are the Mortadella Pistachio and the Fig & Pig. They are $12 each, and yes a bit pricey but the freshness and quality make it worth it.

A fresh produce, meat, fish, sausage, pickled olives, section. You walk further down and Theres the grab and go food section. Then to the left you have wine and cheese. You go further in, and Theres a fancy cheese section. Unfortunately they don't give small amounts of cheeses and cut it for you. But you can buy some really good cheeses here. Then you go back to the very narrow hallway, and Theres a ton of coffee on the left. I just got into coffee and am a coffee snob. I noticed there was a "greasy" looking bean. Which just means it's well past its freshness. The price of bean actually isnt that bad. And they offer a lot of varieties. Anyway...We got two kinds, Guatemala and organic Mexico. I wanted to try it out before writing this review. The Guatemala one was light, faint. Which tells me the bean is stale. No longer fresh. The Mexico was a deeper flavor but also on its way out. I would recommend to management to better advertise the coffee bean so the product moves and stays fresh, or maybe move it to a different section where people can feel comfortable getting it. It gets so crowded in the hallway. I would leave the hallway was a grab and go area. Or, I would sell what you have at inventory and limit the options to the top sellers. You keep walking down and you have the coffee shop to the right, and a small bread stand to the left. Of course we got coffee. Theres a small area of seating to get coffee for there. Theres a big roaster to give the appearance that they roast their own coffee but I believe it's just for decoration. Fiancé got a cappuccino. It was okay. He normally doesn't get coffee with too much milk but the waitress said there was 3 shots of espresso in there. I would say it didn't taste like 3 shots. It taste like coffee with 90% milk. And it should be told to customers that a cappuccino there is more milk with coffee. I got the con panno. Which is espresso with whipped cream. I'm not sure if the whip cream they use is fresh, or if it's super sweetened, but my coffee was sweet. It was thick which I like but I didn't like whatever sweetener they used. But I'd probably order a macchiato if I ever came back so I could taste the coffee. On the other side of the coffee shop is the sandwiches and prepared food that you order. Sandwiches are HUGE. Fiancé had the #1 with all the fixings. It was nice but if you don't like soggy sandwiches, you can ask for no veggies. Which we would do next time. I had the 7, no sun-dried tomatoes and no veggies. It was so good. The mozzerella was very fresh! If you walk past that you have the dried cured meat, and down a hallway to the right you'll find dried pasta and fresh pasta. The fresh pasta looked so good. I wished we lived in the area so I could try. You head back the other way and pass the outdoor seating and Theres also a place for you to check out you grocery/sandwiches. Right next to that section you have the pantry area of canned fish, pickled things, olive oil. Then Theres the bread and pastry area. We only had time to see these and no time to see what other stores they had or walk around. But I'd definitely come back to check those out.

Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I won't be returning. I stopped in around 3:00 p.m. and was happy to see it wasn't busy. I went to the deli counter, waited for someone to serve me, ordered my chicken salad, grabbed a soda and chips, and headed to the open register. As I walked up, the cashier called another customer over ahead of me. I waited while he spent several minutes deciding whether to pay cash or by card because of the 4% card fee. I continued standing there with my three items, to the point that I actually set them down and debated walking out. Then, instead of helping me, the cashier motioned for an entire family to come to the registereven though I had been standing there waiting before they arrived. After that, she waved over another customer, and I had to wait while a mother and her two teenagers decided which desserts they wanted. Again, I stood there patiently. When it was finally my turn, there was no greeting, no "thank you for waiting," nothing. The first thing I was asked was, "Do you have a pickup order?" I said no. She then motioned for my chicken salad container, saying she needed it. I placed it on the scale and set my other items on the counter. The cashier then asked, "Are you okay?" I simply shook my head because, honestly, I wasn't. Instead of recognizing why I was frustrated, she continued talking, making comments, and escalating the interaction rather than simply ringing me up. At that point, I asked, "Do you want to argue? Do you want me to go back and forth with you?" I then asked who the manager was. She pointed to a woman beside her, who identified herself as the owner. I asked if she could ring me up instead. Even then, the cashier continued making comments. It was only after she continued engaging me that my voice became louder in response. Rather than addressing the repeated comments from her employee or asking what had happened, the owner immediately said, "Do not raise your voice at my employee." That response was disappointing. There was no concern for the customer experience, no apology for repeatedly being skipped in line, and no attempt to resolve the situation. There was also no acknowledgment that the interaction had been escalated by the cashier's continued remarks before I ever raised my voice. The irony is that I have spent a significant amount of money catering from Frankie's Deli over the years because my customers love the food. Good food will bring people in once. Great customer service keeps them coming back. Sadly, this experience ended that relationship for me. There are plenty of places with great food, but respect and customer service matter just as much. One final thought: this is Florida not NY. Hospitality goes a long way. The aggressive, dismissive attitude I experienced isn't what I expect when supporting a local business. I won't be back.
