Service started out excellent. We loved our waitress. She brought us a large amount of chips and salsa, which were crunchy and addicting! Ordered a blackberry margarita, I wouldn't say it's fresh blackberries, but it was decent. My tostada was just want I wanted with the chicken and grilled veggies. The fajitas were great too! The ground beef in my wife's taco and enchilada was still red. When we mentioned it, the cook told us they prepare the meat in large batches and that it can turn a little red as it sits. The pork carnitas were also not very good. They had very little flavor and tasted more like boiled meat than traditional carnitas. The restaurant was hot and stuffy. I don't think they have air conditioning, so it's not somewhere you'd want to visit during the summer. The positive note, was our waitress. She was friendly and did everything she could to make things right. Because of the food and the uncomfortable dining environment, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. read more

Delicious!! Quick, friendly and attentive staff.. immediately started us off with warm chips and the most delicious salsa ever made, & they brought us more salsa as we pleased. My husband got the chicken chimichanga with rice & beans on the side. I got the chicken fajitas which came with beans, (whole or refried available) rice, pico, and guacamole (which was also delicious and fresh!) I loved the initial salsa that came w the chips so much that our server gave me a to-go cup of it with our box :) didn't even have to ask lol Love songs playing in Spanish was a nice touch, and it was pleasantly warm inside since it's been SO cold lately. Food and service was impressive earlier this evening with three adults. The dishes were hearty looking and delicious. I appreciated the attention to detail with the food and presentation. For example, It was surprising to have quality shrimp, chicken and pork in the same sauce with each morsel cooked perfectly. Upside: Food and service. Downside: Music Food was amazing! Had the carnitas burrito and soup. Burrito was huge, enough for two meals. Haven't been here in a while and the service was great! Our server was prompt and made sure we had everything we needed. I can't remember her name but she had red hair. The only downside is since I dined in I had to listen to christian music the entire time. Firstly, the restaurant was decorated beautifully - bright, happy colours. We were immediately greeted and everyone was incredibly cordial and kind to us. Our waitress was just wonderful ( believe me...I SO seldom say that!!) She was friendly and very efficient! The food, beginning with the chips, then guacamole, was superb! Our server was so nice and the food was amazing! It was my first time here; I used to live in Chico and am very loyal to my favorite restaurants so I was worried it wouldn't be as good as some. But it's the first place I'd like to go back to now! They have a lot of burritos that come with the cheese dip and I love cheese dips/sauces so I was struggling cuz they had so many options and I wanted green enchiladas but also cheese dip.. behold! They have a plate for that called Enchiladas Rancheras and it was soooo good. My boyfriend got a shredded beef enchilada with red sauce and a chicken burrito (combo). He enjoyed his food thoroughly as well but he said he'd order what I got in the future. Their salsa is also really good and I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a nice, big, yummy plate of Mexican food. We were so stuffed but made sure to finish it all. We had some questions about the menu and our server was very helpful and she had such a positive and friendly disposition. I wish I could remember her name, I saw it on the receipt but that was yesterday. 10/10 on the food! I was not expecting when I read that my plate came with avocado slices that they'd end up being in a flower shape and I was blown away. I've sent this picture to a lot of people and it's the first thing they comment on is how jealous they are of my avocado flower :) read more

I ordered from here thru DoorDash on Tuesday at 7:30pm. I had never heard of this place before but Chico has quite a few restuarants in town that it's always a pleasure to find a new one to add to my list of favorites. I had ordered a Ground Beef California Chimichanga and a Ground Beef Burrito Supreme. I paired it with a Margarita on the Rocks and Margarita Frozen as well. The only thing that did not come as I had ordered it was the burrito. The meat was not ground beef, it had some type of shredded meat inside it. I traded mine with my friends because inside mine was indeed Ground Beef. I didn't care as much but that was not what we had ordered. Other than that I really had no complaints. It made it safely to my house and the margaritas were delicious. Thank you guys so much! read more

I've been going here almost once a week for years since moving out here. The location of the restaurant is ideal. It's within walking distance of my work and the speed at which my order is prepared is spectacular, given I only have an hour for my lunch break. At my first visit here years ago, I ordered their quesadilla lunch special. I didn't care for it. It lacked content within the sheets and it was really salty. But I'm happy to say I've enjoyed my meals here ever since. I'm a big fan of the Enchiladas Yolanda's. The price is reasonable and it's very filling for me. It comes with rice/beans and 3 enchiladas. I also recommend their crunchy tacos. They have really good salsa too! In terms of service, I've never had an issue. Everyone I've encountered has been really nice and cheerful. My family loves this place. I'm not sure why. I came here for a visit and we went here for dinner. My daughter and I both had the fajitas. The server was good, but totally should've warned us that the portion for the veggie fajitas was enormous, we should have shared it. We left a ton of food on the table. I had the shrimp fajitas, which was a more normal portion size. The shrimp were good, and the ingredients were fine, but it was swimming in butter and oil. Not very healthy. Salsa was just OK, I liked the secret spicy salsa better, but you have to ask for it. The margarita was ridiculous, it came in a HUGE glass, and it was basically juice. I gave up on it and ordered a beer. Decor was fine - kind of updated bright and busy Mexican restaurant style. IMO, the food at taqueria Aztlan is way better. I won't be returning. read more

To go dinner during Covid. Called in order and it was waiting and reading in 10 minutes like they promised. Tacos al Carbon with steak was good. Side order of French fries were decent, could have used another 30 seconds in the fryer. T-Bone steak with 4 shrimp and all the fixings for $19.99? I ordered it just to see how they could possibly do that and found out. Visiting from out of state. Tried Pueblito 2 and enjoyed ourselves very much. The server was friendly and helped with several recommendations. We stayed with the carne asada French fries. The serving is huge! Packed with flavorful cheese and finely chopped carne asada. This was a great appetizer to go with a Cadillac margarita and mangolada margarita. Then we had the pueblito plate and a fajita salad. Both were great, fresh and more than we could eat... no room for dessert! We'll be back if time permits. read more

28 days ago I gave this fiasco of a place 4 Stars. Today I barely allocate 1. We arrived near closing time, but not really. I should have known better. The food sucked Big Lemons . She ordered a combination plate, the same as last visit. Chili Relleno/Carne Asada Enchilada, beans, rice. What arrived to the table was a disgrace to Mexican food, won't even say cuisine, because these people don't come close. Sauces horrible, thickened by how old and overcooked they were, $16.50+? 0 Stars. Mine 3 Enchiladas with Salsa Verde, chose chicken-dried out, left over, end of the barrel, Carnitas-same crappy stale, dried up disaster, Carne Asada-left over from their evening shift, dried, chewy, shameful, Tortillas wrapping this crapiola we're old, stale, a warning never to return here! Beans and rice tired bunch of old food. Vacuum running, swearing in the back in their mother tongue, but they love the cash, apparently, instead of politely saying we are better of coming again. Bet anyone and win big: these people wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole the so called food, just for the gringos! Well, Pueblito, you got us. Service, half cleaning the place, half feeble, 1.5 Stars. On a lighter note: chips were better than everything else, with the first salsa tasting well, the second old and ugly tasting. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chico. They have good drinks (margarona and michelada get special note), and great food. The cheese sauce they put on the burritos is super addicting. The interior was recently remodeled, enhancing the authentic atmosphere. Service is friendly and food is quick to hit the table. Good chips and salsa, too! read more

Loved the Durham location so we tried this location and it did NOT disappoint! Service was amazing and super friendly. The food was so delicious. I got the carne asada fries and WOW they were tasty (not to mention a huge portion). I loved the fries too. My husband got tacos al carbon and they were perfect. We just ordered fajitas from here to be delivered entree expeess and what a huge mess. One of the white cartons was split in half on the bottom and all the juices leaked out all over everything. So we called and a gal answered and we asked if they were open for Dine in. She said "yeah, you can come in, at your own risk" We said, didn't the governor order restaurants to be closed!? She said oh, yeah... we just haven't taken the sign down yet. All the while she was giggling. I don't think this is funny, we all need to do our part to keep each other safe!!
