Im new to the area. Just transferred my job to Hamilton City Post Office. After my 1st visit here I am hooked & will be a regular fixture eating here!! You know you've found a gem of a Mexican Restaurant when they MAKE HOMEMADE HORCHATA. The 1st day I had the Carnitas & it was Delicious. The waitress was very Nice & welcoming. I will be back again & again.

Ordered all la carte burritos-Chicken & carnitaa. Shredded chicken was overloaded with rice, some beans & some chicken. I was happy W ratio of rice (no beans) & carnitaa. Portions are big - price is good since it comes W chips & salsa. Total bill $24.67 with a bud light & corona.

I finally found great Mexican food in Chico, only it is in Hamilton City! El Patio is awesome! I have eaten here every weekend since I found this place, because it is so good! Authentic, tasty, not-greasy, generous portions, good service and inexpensive - what else can you ask for?!? It takes 10 minutes to drive here from Chico, but it's totally worth it! Ambiance: A simple restaurant - not fancy by any means. There are about a dozen tables inside and another 6 outside on the covered patio. The furnishings are basic but very functional and the decor is pleasant. Service: There are usually a couple of waitresses. I have gotten good service there, although it is slow when I go so I usually have to call someone over when I need something. They are nice and helpful when I do. They have free refills on their (Pepsi) sodas, which is nice. Food: The chips are great - light and cripsy - and seem to be made there. There are two salsas. One is made with roasted tomatoes and veggies and the other is a more fresh tomtato (like a pico de gallo). Both are wonderful. If you love guacamole, like I do, you can order a small portion to eat with the chips for only $2. Their guac is divide!! They also bring you a small cup of soup while you wait which is complementary. I have had a chicken noodle and a veggie and both were yummy. Everything I have eaten here is good - beef enchiladas, al pastor & carnitas tacos, shrimp tostada, Tampiquena (thin, quick-seared beef topped with grilled chiles and onions). They have a good-sized menu, so there are many more things to try. I am looking forward to it!! Don't forget to try thier flan, as it's delish! Price: I would say that their prices are average or even a little below average. It's a good deal for the money spent for sure! Added bonus: There are usually some Roosters hanging out on the lawn in front of the restaurant. I just think that's cool... :) I HIGHLY reccomend El Patio. It's a good place to take the family (or just yourself) for a tasty and interesting Mexican meal!!

I come here every holiday season all the way from Portland, OR! I can't help stopping here when coming into town for the holiday. This is hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant in Northern California. Everything here is authentic. Runny beans, fluffy flavorful rice. Crispy chicken tacos like you have never experienced in your life. The chips are amazing. The salsa is made in house and is super fresh. I looooove this place! Bueno Bueno!!

I have been going here for over 10 years. The food and service has always been superior. I would suggest you try the Carnitas, shrimp cocktail, and ceviche. They are all wonderful.

The best Mexican food restaurant in this area. Try the El Patio special. The soups they make are to die for.
