The colorful ornaments from an artist named Susana López Castells caught my attention. I couldn't pass up the image of Calle de la Fortaleza in Old San Juan adorned with hanging umbrellas. It has both the Puerto Rican and American flag in the image which is exactly what I wanted. I kind of wish I had bought a tile or a magnet to go with it. The prices are definitely higher at the airport, but the service was very good. She wrapped up the ornament very well without me even asking. I'd return for more souvenirs. There's a huge variety of items including candies and snacks to take with you on the plane. Check it out when flying in or out of SJU.

For example, the same hats in the Old San Juan district were $24.99, but at this shop they were $14.99, and at the airport they were $29.99. Magnets were $12 for 4 or $12 for 3, depending on the type you wanted. I saw magnets in Old San Juan for $6.99-$7.99 each and at the airport for $8.99-$9.99 each. The bottom line is that most everything is made in China, Thailand, or elsewhere, not in Puerto Rico, so does it really matter which store or where you got it? No, not really. On a side note, it's lame to give a business one or two star because their hours aren't updated on some random webpage that isn't associated with the business. Do better, Yelpers.

This location was a little more spacious than the other one and filled with all sorts of cool surf apparel. T-shirts (long and short sleeve), swimsuits(men's and women's), shoes, skateboard accessories, surf boards ..... a surf lovers paradise! Staff here were really friendly and took great care of us. Even tried to help us find a different size of a shirt we were looking for. Prices are a little bit more on the pricy side, but think of this as a really nice Surf Shop Boutique. Store is well organized and clean. Things are displayed well and it's easy to shop for stuff. I'd return here for sure. Check them out!

They were super nice and showed us all the cool artwork that were there we were there and then we end up coming back to pick up some of the luminescent fishes and some sweets as well. The longer I wandered, the more items I loved, coming away with her work in the form of two prints and a book of poetry, several cards and a few stickers, as well as a watercolor print onto a tile of Los Tres Reyes by her Nico Thomassin. But it wasn't just the items, the entire place felt warm and welcoming, Lady Lee herself was a gem, and there's an airy, decorated studio space in the back for writing in. According to the sign, on Tuesdays they have an open mic of some kind. If I lived closer I would spend a lot of time here.
