I didn't like service. We wanted to sit in a pod since we could see they were available but were told we needed a reservation for the pods. Then the waitress walked away. We still wanted to dine there so we walked inside to get assistance. We waited like 15mins before someone acknowledged us. Then the waiter seated us and just walked away. We had to flag down another waiter just to ask for menus. Now at that point we were like they must not want us here. But we tried to ignore and ordered. My niece and sister ordered but I was still annoyed with everything else. It's wasn't packed or had a lot of guest so no reason to overlook us. Now the food comes and my niece only ate the shrimp in her food and didn't want the rest due to it didn't taste good. So that was that at that point. The waiter just brought us a check and said pay and walked away. That was that. We had to ask for the manger because at that point it was too much. We paid what we paid after talking to the manger. He was actually the only nice person there at that point. Won't ever go there again. Only went for the pods to begin with but it wasn't worth it. read more

The straw that broke the camels back was when they served the salad plain then said they needed to change us extra for dressing, really?? I came here on a Friday night along with my boyfriend and two of our friends. Well let me tell you we were highly disappointed. They sat us immediately just to come back and tell us to get up and go wait again because we supposedly couldn't sit near the bar since some of us were underage. Waited 5 minutes before being seated again just for our waitress to take our drink orders and then walk by approximately 15 times before taking our dinner orders. Surprisingly I enjoyed my food, I ordered one of the quesadillas and found it was very tasty and delicious but the service and lack of urgency on a Friday night really ruined it for me. Definitely eat here! After walking out on John's Best in Brookfield due to greasy, dirty tables, we decided to go in another direction and headed off to our first visit to Puerto Vallarta in Danbury. We found the restaurant to be spotless (soap apparently isn't all that expensive after all), bright and cheerful. Puerto Vallarta has a really interesting menu and our food was excellent. Except for the Sangria, which simply tasted like Pinot Noir on ice - they need to work on that. Following a really enjoyable lunch, the manager sent over, on the house, a new dessert they're trying out. Full of rich chocolate goodness, bananas and ice cream, it was awesomelicious. Tried this place for the first time last night. We had a terrific time. The wait staff was friendly and professional. The food was fresh and wonderful. The place was crowded, but we never felt ignored. Staff walked around ready to refill the table with more chips or water. MY FRIEND WAS DEFRAUDED, DO NOT EAT HERE THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU A group of us ate here and the service was atrocious. Our waiter barely acknowledged our table and was rude in general. We got separate checks and my friend didn't tip and the waiter proceeded to overcharge him and leave himself a tip. I didn't save my receipt so unfortunately I cannot confirm or deny if I was overcharged. The management was extremely rude when dealing with this issue. They took almost a week to resolve it and offered little to know resolution. I sent my plate back TWICE, the food didn't even look cooked, no steam or aroma. I ordered arroz con pollo, dique our signature dish. The food was fantastic HOWEVER the bar staff continuously cleaned the bar with something that smelled like dollar store cologne...It was so strong you could taste it. We complained and the manager spoke to the bar staff who gave us dirty looks then proceeded to spray more just to be vengeful. I told them oye huele Como mieldra and they then shot us dirty looks for the rest of the night. The music was obnoxiously loud to the point where we couldn't have a conversation. The food was good but it took 48minutes for a chicken salad that didn't come with dressing, quesadilla, & super nachos that were suppose to come with beef & ended up being chicken. Having gone to Puerto Vallarta three times now, I must say that it is a very good restaurant with a nice ambience and spirited bar. Sundays there is a mariachi band in the bar which is pretty cool, otherwise it's just a fun place to hang out grab some chips and salsa with a good drink. The sizes of margaritas very from small to extra large in a while a bit on the expensive side, they are pretty good. Not too sweet not too tart. But the really large one is $20 which is pretty expensive. They have a variety of salsas but you have to ask for it. The pollo molé dishes are very generous and extremely tasty. The quesadillas are great. For the price of the meal which is very fair you get a ton of food. Most of the time the staff has been pretty friendly and attentive, though on the 3rd trip, while ok service, it was a bit slower and less attentive. There are not many good Mexican restaurants in the area and this one certainly takes the cake - very good food, fine drinks, clean, and a cool bar atmosphere. My fiancé and I went to Puerto Vallarta tonight with great anticipation, and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is a more modern version of their Newington location. Interesting mosaics and textured lighting are mixed with authentic design creating a refreshing atmosphere inside. The staff was extremely welcoming, friendly, and gave us just the right amount of attention. Our queso was delicious and the bottomless chips were refilled without asking. I had the enchiladas rio bravo and my fiancé had the arroz con pollo. They came out quickly. Both were delicious! Our drinks were strong and tasty, our waitress friendly and helpful. We are so happy that Puerto Vallarta is finally filling Danbury's void of great Mexican food... we look forward to coming back soon! read more

We were so happy when we first discovered this place. The food is yummy, and the service was good the first few times we went. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be back after today's experience. We ordered what we always order: chicken enchiladas of the children's menu for our five year old and adult meals for my husband and our daughter. They charged us for an adult meal for son (again he's five and ordered off of a paper menu). The waitress argued with is when we called her out on the mistake. She refused to change the bill. We paid it, but we did not tip her. We normally tip 20% no matter what, but we normally don't have an experience like this. Time to find a new Mexican restaurant. read more
