The sauce that came with it was very flavorful. Polla la brasa was a bit bland, I was surprised. But the sauace again saved the day. And, the meat was quite good. Oh delicious, authentic Ecuadorian food how I have missed you! If you love food from South American and you're within driving distance of this place, you must go! My husband and I lived in Ecuador for two years, and we had some of the best food experiences of our lives. But for some reason, it's hard to find a good Ecuadorian place in the states. Most Latin American places focus on Peru or Columbia, but where is the love for a good Caldo de Bolas or a tigrillo? Well, enter this little gem in Danbury! Please note that Ecuadorian food is quite different than even Columbian food and nothing like Mexican food. Don't come here if you're expecting something a little closer to that. We ordered a good sampling of items from the menu. I got camarones al ajillo, my husband ordered llapingacho and salchipapas and we got a humita for our son. Ohhhh how rich. It took us back to our days in Guayaquil so quick! The servers are nice and the place has a good comfortable feel to it. The food takes a minute to come out because they make everything when you order it. Therefore, order a few drinks and be prepared to take a little trip to the center of the world. Not a Good Experience. Take your business somewhere else. I traveled to Danbury for business. I have dinner Monday through Friday at this restaurant while in business in the area. Food is good. I enjoy giving my business to a Latino business. I typically bring my entire team of six (6) people to the restaurant either Wednesday or Thursday night. After tonight, I am not going back to the restaurant. The Wednesday night waitress reception and service was completely out of line. There were no greetings. She was very bossy, no manners, she never asked, she was a Sargent giving orders. She made me feel like she was doing me a favor. At one point, I thought I was in the military. I did not need to be treated the way she treated me. Last week was the same way. I thought maybe she was having a bad day. But tonight, it was not a bad night, she was out of line. I left the restaurant and took my business somewhere else. Other nights the service was fine. Of course, it was a different waitress. I am not going back to this restaurant. I hope the owner reads this message and take appropriate action. I hope she gets fired. read more

I loved it every time I've gone I just wish the staff spoke English because the language barrier can be frustrating at times but the food more than makes up for it. If you're looking for good latin food in the danbury area I would 100% recommend trying this resturant. They even moved to a better location making the resturant an even better place to enjoy a meal. Food is really good, not gonna lie but the wait is bad...not to get a table, so far....we sat on the table right away, but the food took a long time to come out, service is not that great either, don't know if there's like a minimum thing or what, because twice they included the tip and then the one time they didn't so I want to say that if you spend more than $100 they charge the tip, which is dumb, because the service is not always great, that doesn't take away from the food, which is really good. read more

If you're into mexican food and in Danbury, CT, you must stop by this place. I ordered number 41 on the menu, which says "goat stew and beef tripe with rice" in the description. In short, it was AWESOME! The goat stew was spicy and very flavorful. If goat is not cooked properly, it has this stink that lingers. But this goat stew had none of it. The meat was very tender, falling off the bones very easily. The tripes were cooked with potatoes in a stew, that was also very delicious. They also give you this dip, which had this hot and sour taste, almost like some of the hot smashed fruit recipes we had in our country, Bangladesh. Don't miss it! read more

I have literally driven 30 minutes out of my way to have the corn-based humitas here which come with a spicy garlicky sauce that is AMAZING. But the humitas can run out before late afternoon, so don't wait on these for too long! Lunches here are always reasonable and more than filling. I just wish Mitad were closer to me! read more

This is not Mexican food! I say this because my fiancée is from Ecuador and we were looking for an Ecuadorian restaurant. It says it right in the title of the menu and is the name of the restaurant. Luckily we didn't rely on the other reviewers saying it was good Mexican food or else we would have overlooked this place. This restaurant is as close to authentic Ecuadorian food as can be. We had the caldas de bola soup (excuse my spelling!!) which was perfect and my fiancé had tripe which he loves. I had the pork llapingachos (again, excuse my spelling). Ok, the scenery is nice.. now It's my first time in this restaurant, I don't live around the area but, since my family is from Ecuador in figured this is the spot to go since it has a good rating, I was wrong. The waitress never checked up on us for drinks or in general. I was asked to order .. I specifically ordered a plate for my wife cause she does not eat beef nor speaks the language, and I stated.. please no beef but to substitute the beef for goat. She stated no problem. When the plates arrived, the special plate that I had ordered was wrong, when I mentioned the plate that I ordered, then she stated the plated cannot be altered... then why say no problem??? On top... the service provided ... was terrible, we were a table of 6, and she gave constant attention the the more Spanish of the table as my wife is american, hence why I ordered the plate due to a language barrier. My steak was cold, but if the server was around to check, she would have known. She offered a milk shake to the other side of the table.. not to my side.. just favored the more Spanish side.
