Our go-to spot when we NEED a molcajete or when we just don't feel like cooking and want to sit down and enjoy. It is always consistent. Tortilla chips come out warm.. they always keep both chips and salsa coming. An order of the queso with chorizo to go with chips will not disappoint. Staff are always welcoming and attentive. Very warm and inviting.

Review for Puerto Vallarta - Auburn (Lakeland Hills) Puerto Vallarta in Auburn's Lakeland Hills is hands down our favorite spot for Mexican food in the area. While this is a chain restaurant, this particular location stands out due to its consistent flavors, well-prepared dishes, and exceptional service. We've visited several other locations, but none compare to the quality and experience we get here. On our most recent visit, I ordered the Dinner Combination #3, which includes two enchiladas and one taco, all with ground beef. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The enchiladas were flavorful with just the right amount of sauce and cheese, while the taco had a satisfying crunch and a well-balanced filling. Having grown up on East Coast-style Mexican and Hispanic cuisine, I find it hard to come across places that hit the same flavor profile, but Puerto Vallarta in Lakeland Hills comes very close. It's comfort food done well, and it keeps us coming back regularly. Beyond the food, the staff here is consistently kind, attentive, and efficient. They always make sure we're well taken care of, even on busy nights. This combination of great service and delicious, authentic flavors makes this location a true gem. One thing that really sets this location apart is its reliability. They're always open, even during snowstorms and on most holidays, which is incredibly convenient when you need a good meal but everything else is closed. It's that level of dedication and consistency that keeps us coming back time and time again. We enjoyed watching the Seahawks game. They had the sound on the TV which was really nice that way we could get the same effect as if we were home. One thing that really adds to the experience at Puerto Vallarta in Lakeland Hills is the warm and inviting ambience. The restaurant has a cozy, authentic Mexican decor with colorful artwork and rustic wooden accents that create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're coming in for a family dinner, a date night, or just a casual meal, the setting makes you feel right at home while enjoying great food and service. If you're in the area and craving great Mexican food with top-tier service, Puerto Vallarta in Lakeland Hills should be at the top of your list!

Usually the food is perfectly fine, and I am regularly here. But first time I had to stop eating because I lost my appetite. To-go order for Vallarta burrito with pork carnitas. The pork was either dry and hard to chew or was gelatinous, unrendered fat with black veins still visible. Looked like the pieces were pre-chewed. Tried to just take all the meat out but unappetizing. But giving 3 stars because this place is usually great.

I went to get lunch here right after getting my hair done at my favorite salon (Mogano) just a few businesses down. It's located in a great safe shopping area with plenty of parking but I can imagine it getting very busy at night and on the weekends. The staff is very friendly and they give large portions but nothing special about the food. Unfortunately there were quite a few flies in the restaurant which made me very concerned. The bathrooms are located in the front but the host/hostess and not the nicest bathrooms. I didn't order anything to drink but they have plenty of great alcoholic drinks.

I'm new to the Pacific Northwest, transplant from Las vegas. We have ordered several times togo. Decided to on cinco de mayo to come out. It's the classiest, flavorful, ambience filled establishment in the lake tapps area. People dancing, drinks are flowing and smiles abound. We arrived close to 5pm and there was not a seat available. We decided to go to the bar area, and that's when fun began. Amazing, amazing, amazing.

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant south of the Kent Valley. Authentic flavors, terrific chips, incredible margaritas and lovely kind human servers. I truly love this place.

Came here for lunch with my hubs and it was empty. Perfect timing and cheaper prices! I love the chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal. I ordered 1 enchilada and 1 taco and hubs had the chile relleno. We both really enjoyed our meal and our server was attentive and available if we had any questions. Lunch for 2 people was only $21!

We ordered the carne asada (no beans, extra rice), which was about $30. The portion was decent, but overall the flavor was just okay. I wouldn't necessarily call it authentic, but it works if you're looking for a quick and easy meal. They did ask how we wanted the meat cooked we requested medium but since the steak was cut thin, it ended up being cooked well done. The kids' meals were simple and come with a drink, which is convenient. However, the orange juice tasted off and was really sour like it was expired, so we asked to switch it to apple juice. Garcia's is a decent option for a casual meal in a spacious setting, but for the price especially the $30 carne asada.

This was our first visit back to La Rioja since the ownership changed, and we had a fabulous meal!…read moreLa Rioja has been one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, and they still create some of the tastiest dishes we've had in the region! The atmosphere of the restaurant has changed just a little, but the cooks are the same and the food is delicious. La Rioja is a little different from most local Mexican Family restaurants in that the dishes are a bit more up-scale and refined, with an emphasis on finer cuts of grilled steak and delicious sauces. You will not see ground beef used here - the tacos come with grilled strip cuts, and they offer a range of steaks which are delicious, served with an excellent chimichurri, on a sizzling stone, with ample sides. Portions are large! My chili rellenos were well prepared, sauced, and twice what I could eat. There were left-overs for everyone in our group! The horchatas were delicious. The food was well seasoned. The dishes came with cilantro and onion, pico de gallo, salsa, or habanero sauce if you wanted it. I did, and it was potent but perfect. The desert custard was talked about all the way home! Service was excellent. Francisco was delightful, attentive and made sure we were getting anything we wanted. If there was a hiccup after the change of ownership, it looks like it has been fixed things nicely. We loved all of our meals and can't wait to go back. The menu is a considerable step up from the typical "taco, enchilada, fajita" fare, but still robust and delicious. With the emphasis on steak cuts and great meat dishes it may be more expensive than many typical Mexican Restaurants but it is well worth it. We will be back!

They had a taco guy set up outside so we got tacos de carnitas, which were very good, and a mix of cabeza meats. The queso tasted good, and the steak marinade was different but good. Husband is hard to please with salsas, but he liked these ones. Horchata was great, but again, the price was exorbitant. Cons - a $6 coke and my husband's tacos being served on a random paper plate...prices are crazy for the area this restaurant is located at. I got the feeling that the restaurant was a fancy cover for a casual taco place, meaning fancy looking but the staff kept calling out to each other, kind of yelling, obviously not caring about the plating, etc. The queso fundido came with a random piece of tripa, which kind of grossed me out, but I understand cross contamination is bound to happen with an outside cooking station. The steak marinade reminded me of a rice/Asian marinade, so while it was good, it didn't quite fit with the Mexican cuisine for me. Also, I kept burping it up 2 days after, so clearly it didn't sit right with me. Husband felt they skimmed on the chorizo sausage, as his plate came with a piece of sausage, not a full one.

I was asked if I wanted my grilled onion and grilled jalapeño I said yes. When I got the small bag with the small plate, I instantly knew I made a mistake. Each taco was greedily filled. I had two radish shavings cut in half. There were two dry pieces of carrot and that onion and jalapeño that I mentioned.. yeah, I got half of a jalapeño sautéed with maybe about eight pieces of onion all over the tacos.. I don't know who called this place authentic but I am highly disappointed.. The only thing that presented any equality was the paper bag and the sturdy paper plate that the tacos came on. Lastly, I wanna end my review with another note : the slices of lime that I received were so thin that was actually the most diabolical part of the order. Pastor Tacos - I was really looking forward to some amazing tacos. I'll admit that the presentation is 10/10 for sure and they look amazing but do not taste as great as they look. The pastor tacos I ordered had onion, tomato, and no pineapple in them nor do I think the meat was pastor (maybe it was the wrong tacos entirely) they were way too sweet and I don't think I'll be ordering those again. Rice & Beans - this should be called rice and chili because the beans were not your typical refried beans that you usually get. Instead they were a very sweet tasting chili with cheddar cheese all over the top. Maybe they ran out of refried beans? My roommate ate the tortas and flour tacos that did not come with the free soda as described so I cannot speak to those dishes. Overall I have had way better experiences at other food truck locations that sell the same items and am a little upset that the presentation of the items don't live up to their flavor unfortunately for me.
