I just saw an Instagramer who suggested to skip this restaurant while in San Diego. But my experience was great service and food. Drinks are fancy but a little on the higher side. A good time to go is Happy Hour from 3-5 weekdays. They have $10 margaritas and other drink options. The Happy Hour food menu offers mini burritos, flautas, and more! Our server was Casey and he was super nice! It was busy, but he took care of us demanding old ladies with a smile and he went out of his way to assist us. He's the difference between my 4 and 5 star review. I heard the best time to go is on Taco Tuesdays with half priced tacos. The inside of the restaurant is hip with booths, high tops, tables, and covered patio seating. They also have a nice private area. Free parking in the lot.

I visited at 3pm on Tuesday for half off Taco Tuesday. All the tacos had a blue corn tortilla which was soft and had a nice mild flavor. Lobster taco had tender lobster full of delicious lobster flavor. Beef short rib taco had tender shredded short rib. Tons of flavor. Filet mignon was tender and juicy with tons of delicious flavor. The 3 tacos were all delicious but the filet mignon was my favorite. I was impressed by how flavorful and well seasoned the meats were. 3 tacos was the perfect number to fill me up. If I was starving I would get 4. The bill was $25 before tip. Staff was nice and efficient. There was a good crowd starting at 3pm for Taco Tuesday.

This place is modern, clean, and elegant. This place is for the diner who wants to enjoy the experience, not shovel down food. The prices are elevated, especially in a city known for Mexican Food.. but this isn't meant to compare to the local hole-in-the-wall place. Birria Bowl has tender short rib in a savory marinade and it was a perfect size to keep me full for hours

All around enjoyed my experience at Puesto! Highly recommend going to their website and joining the taco club, if you add them to your contacts as instructed you get a free taco! I got a free lobster taco (score!) it was really good. Great tortilla, sauce, and topped with onion crispies that really tied it all together. All the salsas from the flight were good, but their classic molcajete salsa was the best in my opinion. None were very spicy but all had good flavor. Short rib quesabirria taco was good as well. These are pretty decent sized tacos but I find them to be pretty expensive for the size. They do fill it with a good amount of meat though! Caesar salad was 6/10, only thing we didn't love, just needed a squirt of citrus is all. Margaritas were great, service was quick and friendly. We loved the outdoor dog friendly patio, super cute and cozy out there. Overall, will absolutely be back, especially for taco tuesdays where tacos are half price from 3pm-close !

Sat at the bar cause I was only there for a quick taco snack, they have a great World Cup tie in menu that's supportive of a sports non-profit + in partnership with other local SD restaurants. I got the octopus. The octopus piece was much buggger than I expected, cooked perfectly and was great with the sauce. The crispy cheese was a bit over powering for my taste, but still good. Big parking lot that shares with other businesses so it is always busy. Love how airy this location is, with lots of different types of seating including outside options.

There was a 15 minute wait for a table for 3 on a Thursday evening. Service started out good but then it took a long time to get boxes and the check when we were ready to go. My friends and I enjoyed all the dishes that we shared: - Cucumber Salad - Potato Taquitos - Esquite - Zarandeado Ceviche They all had good flavor and tasted fresh. I would order it all again.

We were very excited to give Puesto a try but sadly it did not live up to the expectations. We tried 5 different tacos with the side of rice & beans. The server really hyped up the tacos and said that is their specialty. He suggested the best ones but once they came out the tortillas were cold and hard. The shrimp taco was well flavored but came with only two small pieces of shrimp. You would think if you're paying $12 for a single taco you would get a little bit more filling. The rice and beans were good, flavorful, and at least they weren't cold. They do also provide complementary chips and salsa which, the salsa was delicious, really flavorful with a nice spice to it. Our server was really friendly and the ambiance was so nice inside. The decor and lighting made it a nice date night vibe we just wish the food was fresh and hot to be more enjoyable, definitely not worth the price you're paying for the tacos.

Stopped by Puesto Mission Valley for dinner. Loved the modern, eclectic vibe of the restaurant. Our server was attentive and provided great service throughout the meal. We ordered the Short Rib Birria Bowl and the enchiladas, and both dishes were very good. While the food and service were enjoyable, the prices were hard to justify for what you actually get. The enchiladas were $32 and didn't even come with sides, and a single taco was $12. Although everything tasted good, the overall value simply didn't match the high prices. Unfortunately, despite the positive aspects of the experience, we won't be returning.

It's so funny don't come here very often as you can see, but it's alway inconsistent when we come. Maybe it was because it was a big holiday this time? We came for Mother's Day. It was 8 of us and we were seated right away with our reservation. Service was nice. We got our drinks and put in our orders. Ok. I remember the fillet tacos, so I ordered 2 of those w/ some rice on the side. All of us ordered tacos except 2 people with us. They ordered the shrimp bowls. We also got a couple guac flights to share. Loved those! After a while, all the people who ordered tacos got their tacos. The waitress said the bowls would be delayed 10 minutes because they are cooking the rice. I canceled my side of rice at that time. All of us finished all our food about 45 mins in and still the two bowls had not come out. I asked the waitress about it and she said they were still cooking the rice and I let her know that it was a long time and she just turned around while I was still talking and walked away. Someone else came to the table a while later to bring the bowls w/o the rice and said there was still no rice but they would not charge for the bowls. Haha hey at least they comped it, but I just didn't understand the rice thing? I have to say, my filet tacos were amazing though! Both guests that ate the shrimp bowls said that they were delicious even w/o the rice. I wish they would've just brought it out w/o rice sooner and had a little of less of an attitude or communicated better. I try not to sweat the small stuff, I really didn't let it ruin our beautiful mother's day. I just think it could've been handled better. Maybe a learning opportunity. I did do 4 stars bc even tho handled poorly and commutation not the best, they did try to make it right by not charging for the 2 bowls + food was delicious!

Great tacos but VERY pricey - I'm talkin $12 for a single taco and almost $20 for a drink. Only go for taco Tuesday. I have a gripe: AI answering systems. Yes, people talk to AI online, but restaurants need to understand that if I CALL, I want to speak to an actual PERSON. This isn't the only restaurant that does this and I can't express enough how frustrating it is to not be able to speak with a real human.

Very trendy and pretty place! Our waiter was fabulous and energetic. He was very attentive and timely. The food was really good too! Loved it.

This was my first time coming to Puesto and I might need to move to San Diego just to come back here every day! The restaurant is beautiful inside, the food was incredible, and the service was excellent! Shoutout to JP for taking care of our group, recommending amazing selections and just generally keeping our folks entertained, while managing a lot of very busy tables. Can't wait to come back! I'd share pictures of the food but it was gone too quick to capture. Filet mignon taco was amazing, esquites were delicious too, guacamole flight was fun to try. Can't recommend this place enough and they have fun swag!

This is almost a 5 for me, but I just feel like the prices are too high. Also, this location was not quite as good service wise as compared to the one in Anaheim. We had to stand at the front for what felt like a really long time before someone came to greet us and sit us for our reservation. The waitress was great though. The food and the drinks are pretty amazing, especially the filet mignon options.

Yes, out in the patio and also provide a water dish for your fur baby.

Are Puesto's fryers dedicated or shared? Are the tortilla chips fried in the same fryer as their chicharrones or do they have their own?

Hello Gian, Thank you for your question. The tortilla chips we serve are not fried in oil used to…

Do you have to make a reservation?

    No, but it's helpful!

    Is there gluten free options?

My daughter is celiac so we always order the filet mignon tacos with no pistachio sauce and it is GF. The carnitas tacos are also GF.

    Is there taco Tuesday?

Yes there is! Makes for a busy time but worth the wait :)

Are they any vegan options? They used to have a cauliflower taco a long time ago.

Yes, they do have vegan options. If you look at the pictured menus they are marked with the letter 'V'

    Do they have happy hour?

    Yes. They do.

I made a reservation (just in case) because on a weekend you never know. Luckily, though, we arrived and there was plenty of available seating. My husband and I had our 10 and 5 year old with us and they easily accommodated us. It's a straightforward, but lovely menu that has a little bit for everyone. We enjoyed sharing a few plates and fresh oysters on the half shell. They do not have a kids menu, which was alright with us. Our daughter, who loves a good steak at 5 years old, enjoyed their pub steak and fries and shared a Mexican Coke with her brother. For my husband and I, we enjoyed sharing their beef tartare and to finish it off, a banana split. What we found so whimsical about Finca is their presentation. My husband and I really enjoyed exploring their menu and leaving room for a return visit soon. I couldn't recommend Finca more for anyone looking for a fun and casual dining experience with a lovely staff and unique take on traditional favorites.

I started with the London Dry G&T, which was excellent--cold, crisp, and exactly what a gin and tonic should be. We shared a dozen raw oysters. They were fresh and delicious, though a little on the petite side. No complaints, though--they disappeared quickly enough. Then came the bread and butter. I realize writing a paragraph about bread and butter makes me sound like I've completely lost perspective, but here we are. The bread was fantastic, and the butter should probably have its own fan club. The charred cauliflower was the sleeper hit of the meal. If someone had told me beforehand that I'd be thinking about a cauliflower dish days later, I would have laughed. It was outrageously good. For dessert, we had the Basque cheesecake, which was rich, creamy, and completely worth saving room for. If there's a better way to end a meal, I'm not currently aware of it. The atmosphere was lively without being chaotic, and the service was friendly and relaxed. Overall, a great spot for a night out. The Kurt Vile concert was excellent, but I have to admit the cauliflower made a pretty strong case for being the headliner.
