Seemed like a decent course for $345 until instructor became chaotic and confusing. Poor time management. Everyday went over time. Skills testing failed half the class. There were 13 people in my class and two instructors. Both instructors were very knowledgeable and personable, and made sure that everybody felt included and had their questions answered in preparation for the permit testing. No hands on teaching or assistance. When we first separated into our groups, we had 8 people and 1 instructor in my group and the other group had 2 instructors and 8 people. I signed up for the beginners course, which would mean that it's for beginners right? Wrong, it was a very "tossed in the deep end" experience and if you drown you drown. Instructors seemed nice enough as people but teaching actual riding skills was different. I asked questions about what I could do to improve my skills and none of them were answered. They will remove you from the class if they feel you are not holding up the class instead of actually trying to help you with your issue, and refunds are out of the question. If you are a new rider, a female rider, or a person of color, listen to the warnings of the other reviewers! I'm sure it's dependent on the specific instructors but the ones we had were atrociously unprofessional. The female instructor told multiple female riders that "people like us need more time" and encouraged them to leave the class. During the classroom portion, the only black student in the class was told that if he's afraid of being pulled over by the cops, it must be because he's doing something illegal - by the same instructor who bragged about speeding past cars! This isn't even the worst of it, but there isn't enough room in a Yelp review to detail the atrocious behavior of the instructors and owners. Even if you don't give a crap about terrible people, there's still the fact that this class is a complete waste of money because they don't teach you ANYTHING. Zero instruction or guidance - they literally just tell you the course and assume you know how to execute the maneuvers. At some point in this new rider course, they told people to try shifting into second gear and not once did they even explain how to shift! It's an expensive way to get your endorsement for people who already know how to ride, or a complete waste of money if you don't. Rather than teaching you any basics, they'll set you up to fail so they can try to sell you on private lessons. I know your options are limited but try to find a different school even if you have to travel farther. It's a shame Evergreen is gone now. I learned more in 4 hours there than I did in the two-day class with these guys. read more

I had a stellar experience with PSS, specific in my case to the motorcycle skills program. I appreciate that they have a full slate of courses ranging from new rider all the way through intermediate and then advanced. Having years of riding experience but always looking to learn more, I signed up for back-to-back Advanced Street Skills 101 and 102. I have made a persona commitment to continue to stay as sharp as possible with attending at least 2 courses per year. There's a nice classroom in a strip mall, with good A/V, ventilation and fans, tables and chairs. I walked in and did a double-take, because the head instructor for this course was a truly masterful motorcyclist who is world famous, Bret Tkacs. I follow him on his Youtube channel and was really looking forward to getting more than I bargained for, learning from him for 2 days. There was another instructor as well who was very good and helpful also. There was a good mix of classroom instruction and on-pavement street skills practice and coaching in the very large parking lot nearby. I have been to a lot of advanced rider courses such as Streetmasters (which is also outstanding) but it found it incredibly unique that this coaching crew had a radar gun with continuous speed sensing, and could hook up to a computer to aid in rider analysis. We each got a personalized chart and data readout of how efficiently we could brake under different conditions. Super useful. We did a number of other exercises throughout the 2 days which helped me improve my handing of the bike and situational awareness. I particularly liked Bret's pictures of different road scenarios and challenging us to think further ahead based on the little clues we're seeing. Overall a fantastic experience. My only nitpick is that I would have liked to receive a certificate of completion as most rider courses provide. (This helps me remember the course and also is even useful for insurance purposes). read more

Key points: Absolutely no hands-on teaching or assistance, Blatant sexism, poorly maintained equipment. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. There's not a single instance where I could recommend this class. Even if you had extensive motorcycle experience theirs a chance you'd fail because of the lack of communication and poorly maintained equipment. Instructors gave direction pointing to cones that are were barely visible. NEVER ONCE did an instructor demo the activity/drill just a brief poorly explained overview. NEVER ONCE did an instructor ask how any of us were doing, gave us a single pointer or suggest something we could do better. Felt like I was on survivor, instead of helping someone who was having difficulties they just boot you out. A class that's orientated towards first time riders shouldn't require you have extensive experience right off the bat. I spoke with my friend who is endorsed and he described both his and his partners experience at another school and his only response was you got scammed. He described his experience with instructors doing everything that I thought they would do coming into the class. Actually being helpful and actually teaching and i felt so angry that this company is just operating to take peoples money and throw them to the wolves. I attended the Kirkland location. Their motorcycles are a piece of work... I started off on a duo sport that seriously needed a tune up. If you stalled the bike it took a solid 30 seconds to get it back up and running. Feathering the throttle to just the right position to get it to start up. The throttle response was also terrible. It was un-rideable in 1st gear dropping from 3k to 2.7k rpm resulted in you being nearly thrown off the bike. I drive manual, I have experience on motorcycles and I understand that being in a low gear engine breaking is jerky but when the only means of modulating speed in 1st gear is holding the rpm steady and modulating the clutch it makes things pretty difficult. I asked the instructor if I could switch to the rebel 300 and he firmly told me "This is the only time i'll let you switch bikes." I got on the rebel 300 and I could actually ride. I could actually modulate the throttle! Woo hoo but unfortunately the bike was not ergonomic for me. I'm a taller rider and I was having difficulties actually getting my foot under the gear selector. It was just ergonomically incompatible with my body. Now unable to effectively change gears how do I even complete the course if I can't switch bikes? Their was 18 people in our course with two instructors. I don't have their names because they never formally introduced themselves. But one man, an older gentlemen was actually pretty helpful although he didn't really do any instructing he was clearly more the "help" the other man who was leading the course was just a straight up jerk. He kicked out two women despite in my opinion not performing any worse than the lower performing men. My partner was told to switch bikes even though she was comfortable on the bike she was riding having just started back up on a new bike she asked him a really simple question that he refused to answer and just berated her. When she restated her question she was told "you better change your attitude or i'm going to ask you to leave" at that point how does she continue was this clearly sexist man just belittles you. Keep in mind she has experience riding dirt bikes and I had purchased a bike 2 weeks in advance and have been practicing to get a leg up and if I hadn't I couldn't imagine how much more terribly this would have went. To circle back on the sexism. The only people kicked out the class were women. The instructor belittle my partner. My partner is incredibly sweet she let another student borrow a spare of boot because she was going to be kicked out otherwise(a women as well). Then after reading through the reviews theirs an incredibly disproportion amount reviews from women rating this facility poorly compared to men. So clearly the bias must span more than this one instructor... Bottom line stay away. Take your course somewhere that will actually teach you, hell I could of taught this class that's how little the instructors actually taught. Secondly if you're a women stay the hell away, they "might" lend a hand to a man who needs assistance but as a women you do 1 thing wrong you're out. They want you to have to retake their course... They just want to milk you for more money wrong shoes, a trivial mistake that puts no one in harms way? Ask the instructor a question? out no refund, no rescheduling no nothing pay us the full price again. Sincerely one very frustrated individual. Here are the circumstances where they'd get a yes regarding being worth your time and money: 1) You love a good sense of humor: One of the Lacey instructors reminds me of a less grotesque version of comedian Tom Segura. 2) You signed up for the Beginners Riding Course for gaining SOME experience on a motorcycle when you haven't had any in the past. You came here to learn, but have a low expectation of being competent of passing the skills test in the 7 or less hours you might be figuring things out while instructors are consistently threatening to send you home over every little mistake. Here is why this company may be a no from me: 1) The terrible cancellation policy. If you're hoping for a refund in case of emergency, forget it. Or, you could make the payment on a credit card and dispute the charge when they decide to refuse a refund. It works! (I haven't tried it, because I obviously took the course.) 2) Maybe more of a yes than a no: You follow google maps and are unfamiliar with the area--in my case and others, Google maps routed me to the abandoned storefront of Sears. I suggested that they do a pin drop so that they could provide clientele with the appripriate place to meet if they're going straight over to the rider's course area and whoever responded to the idea seemed open to it! 3) I was hoping that this would be a nice learning environment that feels inclusive to people of all backgrounds, learning levels, demographics, and genders. It fell below my expectations and I'm pretty sure I am not the only person out there feeling this. Instructors seemed very quick to threaten to send people home if they didn't learn everything as fast as they expected us to learn and it looked like women or older pupils were picked on the most. **Patience was out the window with our all day instructor. If I felt any nervousness during the course, it was due to how he approached myself and others in an aggressive manner. On my second day, he said "I didn't get more than 3 hours of sleep last night, because my house was hot," when he had stated earlier that he owned "9 bikes." Ok. Maybe sell one of those bikes so you can afford some AC so you're less intolerant of others who are trying to learn from you? Just a thought. Oh, and the real kicker, "Teacher's don't get paid much." Ok, great, tell me some more about that instead of taking the time to let me ride a manouver that I feel that I could use some more practice on. (Just in case you're quedtioning the validity of this review based off of this... I took said course during the hot summer months). 4) Accuracy during the testing portion might be out the window--using a hand timer to gauge speed over the course of a short distance (I'm talking 30ish ft) to gauge 1 second of distance measurement. Intermediate Riding class The classroom setting was comfortable and began with everyone discussing why they were taking the course, and the answers varied greatly although many had decided to become legal. I felt the instructor in class, Jason, was confident in his knowledge and followed a course outline that I am sure is very scripted, which is good. We did have class discussions, some video and comments on different scenarios. In this class everyone had some experience riding at some level, so the basics were passed over. (Yay.) The riding began at Cheney Stadium parking lot and the bikes were in generally good condition, but you could tell the spent a fair amount of time not upright. (Must be the beginner's class.) Every maneuver was designed to exceed what you were being tested on later in the day and clearly explained and diagramed. During one of the 'huddles' to discuss our lack of understanding what the current exercise was about a car drove through our wall or orange cones so that instructors Jim and Jason could claim they saved our lives. Thanks guys! It was fun, informative, educational and even though I hadn't ridden a motorcycle in over 30 years the class had me extremely confident by the end of the day. The course was wet due to heavy morning rain, but we were on good equipment with well qualified instructors and as a result every participant walked away that day with their endorsement. (except one guy due to a paperwork snafu) He did pass though. Overall, I would highly recommend Puget Sound Safety and I plan on trying out their advanced classes. Well done gentlemen. read more

THIS IS A FRAUDULENT COMPANY. I had got off of work last night at midnight, had a very long week, scheduled a month ago for this 200$ class. I loaded my bike in my truck brought my helmet. Got to the place at 7:40 a few minutes before the class started and realized I had forgot my boots. Instead of being of any assistance or letting me go buy a pair and come back or have someone bring me my boots while we were doing class work THEY REFUSED and cussed me out and told me to go pay another 200$. Just because somebody forgets a helmet or boots doesn't mean you guys can STEAL 200$. Most criminal company I have ever came across each one of these instructors should be fired and this company should not have any alliance with the DMV. read more

I've been an avid rider since I was 8 years old, riding dirt bikes with my buddies. I've attended 2Fast and Adrenaline Freaks track days on multiple occasions. What I attended at PSS was a complete joke. I was given an incorrect address to show up at via confirmation call (and many other riders got the same information as I did). I sat in front of their other classroom facility for almost a half hour before I noticed some bikes go by me, and I chose to follow. The location of the riding class was NOT marked, and in a steel shipping canister behind a Sears. No signage, nothing to even indicate who they were or what was going on. The class I showed up to at the Olympia location was absolutely terrible. I accidently left my riding boots at home, as they are not really safe to drive in (yup, my bad), but there were plenty of other riders in tennis shoes allowed to stay. I was offered the ability to come back, but given no info as to when or where. The bikes had flat tires, and the staff was completely unhelpful. The cones were hockey puck sized, faded orange and green, and barely visible. When I called them out about a rider who almost fell over because his front tire was flat and he skidded out on the rim, I was told to leave for being loud, with no further information about the offer to retake the class. And as you guessed it, I wasn't too happy about it and unfriendly words were said. I paid close to $200 to take this course, and drove over 3 hours to go do it. When I called to complain, no one answered the phones, and when I called today, no further assistance or retake was offered. No other contact information was offered or posted anywhere, other than the primary number. This is the worst "Returning Rider" class I've ever attempted to take part in. read more

I sent my teen to Basic Rider Training, a class which is advertised as being "for new riders". This was my students first time using a clutch and a couple hours in to the driver training he was still struggling with it. An instructor name Jason persuaded my son to quit the class asked him to sign something to indicate he was withdrawing from the course. Being a kid, he went along with it. Consequently my student missed out entirely on two days of classroom instruction and the second day of driver training. What a waste! There are many better ways this could have been handled by the instructor, the most obvious being to supply him with a motorcycle without a clutch and to encourage him to continue with the classroom training even if he protects of passing the riding skill test were not great. My son was humiliated and I'm not sure I will be able to rekindle his interest in getting his motorcycle enforcement. read more

I LOVED my experience at Puget Sound Safety. I went to get my Motorcycle license and signed up for the 3 day BRC (Basic Riding Course). With sucessful completion (passing the written and skills test) you can take your card (they give you after successful completion) to the DOL and get your Motorcycle endorsement. I was intimidated at first because #1 I had never been to a riding class-I called the office and a wonderful man Matt answered all my questions...he was polite and kind and very understanding, being a woman in a basically male dominated activity I was absolutely scared. He assured me if there was any kind of talking down or for lack of better word poor treatment from other attendees that the instructors would shut it down. I was in a rush to get my M endorsement and when I was going to register for a later class and noticed a class that day that had been full suddenly had a opening-I called right away and Matt got me in. I was coming all the way from Seattle and was literally going to come in rush hour traffic...he calculated it out and told me I could make it. He even took the time to text the instructor as soon as we got off the phone and explained I was coming from Seattle and may be 10 minutes late for the classroom portion. When I got to the location with 10 minutes to spare the classroom was nice and I was greeted by Paul my classroom instructor with a warm greeting and he already knew I was a last minute addition thanks to Matt. The classroom session was very informative and very relaxed...you could tell Paul LOVED what he does and loves cycling. The people in my class were of all levels...beginners, intermediate and people who had ridden but never received their M endorsement. The people in my session were really great! The next two days were a 1/2 day classroom (where you took the written portion needed to receive the endorsement) skills instruction and the last day skills testing. On Day 2 we met Paul in the AM and then met our equally as fabulous instructor Cameron...They worked together really well and they made the day educational and so much fun! I of course had my own anxiety but they made me feel great...and when I screwed up (I did a lot) they were very kind and patient and very instructive on how I could correct it the next time. You go through a lot of drills needed to get comfortable on a bike and also for the final Skills Test. They both had so much Motorcycle experience and a lot of motorcycle life lessoned learned. They talked to you like human beings and were never ever condescending. Everything on the knowledge test Paul made sure to discuss in class and made sure you understood! There were no stupid questions...I think I asked like a million questions. Everything on the final skills test they went over in the course of 3 days and you practice them in drills and also Cameron demo'ed everything and also they did simulation practices as a group when you were in line...prior to going out on the course. Of course the Skills Test is a little nerve racking but if your not nervous...you're not human. The only time they stepped out of character was when they had to be proctors for the skills when they had to wear their "proctor" hat they were still kind and friendly (they were just more formal). They went over the scoring and told you how many points you could lose...they were clear and concise. The group that I was with basically all guys were all very kind and very supportive! During the skills test when we were off our bikes (waiting for everyone to finish)...we all asked each other how we did and we kind of cheered each other on, which made the anxiety filled day a little easier. Some things I have seen in other reviews: -If you signed up for the wrong class it is your fault. If you are not sure call the office and ask questions...the office/customer service people are great! I asked a million questions some of them completely insane but they answered all of them. I felt very prepared coming into the class. -If you have special needs let them know before hand...they will accommodate you if they can and if approved by Washington State. -Read the PDF and confirmation sheet they send you! It is very clear and concise...If you still are confused contact the office. If you are fortunate enough to have Paul Solomonson and Cameron Coughlin sign up for their class they are awesome...and fun! You are only going to get from the BRC what you put into it!!! Pay attention, ask questions, be involved in the classroom and the course and keep on trying even if you screw up on drills on the course! They want to help you to succeed! They don't want to keep on seeing you in a BRC course because you haven't received your endorsement! I passed and I am so excited to get to DOL and get my endorsement! AWSOME! I just finished (and passed thank you) The beginner motorcycle course in Olympia with Zak and Jerry. These guys rock. I had a blast and learned a huge amount. They are fun but also firm and to the point. Interactive classes makes remembering important details a breeze and the riding course was comprehensive and really fun. I love the small class size. The scooter option for those of us (raises hand) who have no intention of riding a motorcycle but need the endorsement for an amazing scooter. I think I may have to continue to take classes - It's empowering to learn new skills .. Side note: Do not go straight to the DMV, they will take your new license photo with helmet head and will laugh at you! ask me how I know! read more

I attended the first 2013 season ADV camp and it was phenomenal. The PSS off-road team is extremely friendly and helpful, and they deliver a really good overall experience. Highly recommended for adventure riders. I really liked that Ridewest BMW (represented by Tracy) comes and gives you the opportunity to try out a couple of the GS bikes. No dealership anywhere near where I live does that. I'm planning to go out of my way to give them my business now. I want to do the BDR camp next, where they do more training and guide you on the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route. I wish I didn't live so far away (in Canada). read more

I never sat on a motorcycle before this class and learning to ride dirt was high on my bucket list. I do know how to shift an ATV but balancing on two wheels scared me and my boyfriend said I'm a totally uncoordinated. Why did I ever put this off so long?! I was riding a 150 bike within the first half hour. Greg was a great trainer. I can't believe the great tips and personalization each rider in the group received. Great job giving me confidence. I stopped on a hill and Greg coached me how to make it up the remainder from a dead stop, which was my mistake turned into a learning win! This course exceeded my expectations. Yes, I bought a bike and can't wait for the group to start up in Oregon. I signed up my youth son who won't listen to me. Will post later how this goes. Took dual sport riding lessons a year ago in Plain. I had trouble with dried mud ruts. Always made me crash. I Had control trouble with burms, just want to thank you. I rode with my son a few days ago on forest roads and on trails. We had a blast. Ruts are fun at this point. I laughed so hard as my bike took me right through them. I just finished the BRC with Jim and Rick and it was an awesome experience. I learned so much in 2 days and felt so comfortable taking my permit skills test. A wealth of information and they are constantly giving you feedback because they want you to pass. If you have never rode and have no motorcycle experience at all you definitely need to attend these courses. You will learn so many necessary skills to save your life if you want to ride around the crazy traffic this state has to offer. I never write reviews but I felt it was important to say; if you are looking to learn to ride a motorcycle, Puget Sound Safety is the best in Western Washington. My instructors were Gregory and Paul, both were phenomenal. Gregory lead most of the instruction during the three day class. He is a tall, former drill instructor. I assumed that his class was going to be full of yelling and push-ups. That couldn't be further from the truth. He was very patient with me (though I had never even sat on a motorcycle prior to the first class) and the rest of the class (many of whom were also coming in with limited to zero motorcycle experience). He was full of jokes and smiles and it made the experience of learning to ride a lot of fun. It sounds cheesy, but I was very impressed with his ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. He used phrases like, 'Since you are all bikers you need to understand that...' Little things like that go a long way to subconsciously build confidence in students learning a new set of skills. If you have the option to have Gregory as an instructor, you can't go wrong. You can tell he loves what he does, and learning from someone that is doing what they love is the best possible situation. To summarize, in three days I went from never having even sat on a motorcycle, to having the confidence, technical foundation, and WA motorcycle endorsement to safely (and legally) pursue this exciting new hobby. I took the Beginner's class last month and wasn't very impressed. The instructor even commented she had never had so many fail the written test. I'm a college graduate and not sure why so many of us had such a difficult time in the class. Truth be told I'm not interested in riding a motorcycle, I'm more of a scooter person. During the class I was only person who requested a scooter and apparently the only person who was not experienced in riding. Being a newbie and having a much less powerful machine it wasn't easy to keep up with the others. The class was marketed for new riders. I haven't figured out if the class is more appropriate for slightly experienced riders or the instructors weren't that great and more into goofing off than teaching. I ended up leaving early, buying an online study program and passing myself. It wouldn't surprise me if success is purely based upon the instructor read more

My son (16) and daughter (15) took the drivers training course here. Both of my kids and I had a great experience with PSS. The course was six weeks in class, three nights a week for two hours a class. Then they had six hour long drives each. Scheduling the drives was super easy as PSS offered many time slots. I also appreciated that I was able to make payments for the course. The instructors were all super friendly and knowledgable. Shout out to Terry and George who the kids specifically liked. Even the staff in the office were a pleasure to deal with. I especially liked that we were able to do everything here. After the course, the kids took the knowledge test, my son did his drivers test and we were able to go to DMV that day to get his license. I highly recommend PSS to any mom looking for a place to take their kid for driver training! read more

I attended the Off Road 101 class at the Straddleline ORV Park in McCleary. My instructors were Fletch and Greg. We had about 15 students, 3 of which were women, including myself. Almost everyone had prior street bike experience, and several came to class on motorcycles. I just started riding dirt bikes on trails this summer and have only been out about 4-5 times. Prior to that, I had never ridden a motorcycle. Overall, the class was fantastic. Some of it was stuff I knew already, like standing up is better. But they really go into all the tiny details of standing positioning, and then you get the chance to practice and apply it. Some of it was stuff I didn't know, like proper body positioning while turning. Again lots of time to practice. Other skills covered were clutch/throttle control, braking, going over obstacles, and hill climbs and descents. The two things I didn't like are small enough not to change my 5 star review, but worth mentioning. Almost everyone there rented bikes provided by PSSOR. I brought my own bike, a new to me CRF150R that I had only ridden on once since buying it (I was a riding an XR100 prior). Greg insisted that I use their 150F which I did at first. Then I switched back to my bike after the first segment. I really struggled on my bike because kick staring it is a pain, it hates going slow and everything we were doing was under 15mph, and I just didn't have good throttle and clutch control on it. I do wonder if I would have started the day on my bike, if I would have gotten a better feel for it during the segment on clutch/throttle control... Eventually I switched back to the 150F so I could practice the skills without stressing over the bike. All of that to say: the class is set up for electric start bikes that like to putt and chug along at very low speeds. So if you have a bike that wants to scream, make sure you are really confident on it before heading into class, or rent theirs. The last thing was regarding Greg's pulling out another female student to be the example for all the body positioning stuff. The first time, it was cute/funny, because he knew her from a previous class and was just picking on her in a light-hearted way. But he kept doing it all day, and it started irritating me a bit. He never asked her, "Can I pull you and your bike out into the center so everyone can stare at you while I tell you to move your butt over to the side as we demonstrate body positioning?" He would just pull her out and do it. And I never asked her, maybe she was fine with it, but it just seemed really misogynisitc and put a bad taste in my mouth. I did think they both were excellent instructors and I wouldn't hesitate to take a class from them again. But if Greg pulls my bike out with me sitting on it to be his example without asking me first, I'm slamming on the brakes or just hopping off the bike. read more

This place was great. Took the intermediate course since I've been on motorcycle most of my life and have been riding my street bike for the past year on the streets. So being I was nervous about the test at the DMV, figured this way might be a little easier and maybe teach me a few things I might otherwise miss. Class was on a Saturday and it poured for most of the riding portion of the class. Started with misty kinda rain and by the end, just dumping on us. But we kept at it. I kinda felt like a few of the riders probably should have been in the beginner class, but they let everyone stay and everyone ended up passing except one girl who said she had been riding on the street before, but they stuck her on a scooter because of her height (feet couldn't reach the ground on the other bikes) and I swear she never got past 10mph. Maybe just nerves. I know I rode a little different than I usually do. I mean, it's wet outside, you're trying to ride around cones that stick up about an inch from the ground and you have two guys watching you like eagles :) Either way, if you can ride a motorcycle and feel comfortable getting into second gear, you should be fine in the intermediate class. I was really surprised with how inexperienced some of the people in the class were, but hey, we all gotta learn sometime. They had several different bikes to choose from. Most are small suzuki 250's with pegs in a very forward position. They also have a couple of BMW GS650's, CRF250 and a couple other random bikes. All have low miles but are pretty beat, which wasn't a surprise I suppose. They can supply helmets, but be sure to bring the proper footwear (MUST HAVE ANKLE COVERAGE). Some guy showed up with regular shoes and luckily he lived close enough to go home and get better ones. Anyways, they run you through a bunch of courses, do this U turn, do this stop, do this turn, etc. Once everyone goes through everything and they think we're good, they do the test. Super easy, all of them are easy, nothing to worry about. Seeing how some of these people rode and how easy it was for them to pass, wow. Anyways, after the riding test, they give you a little bit of time to pick up some food and get to class. They suggested we eat at the class vs. stopping and eating somewhere. the class portion was okay. One video, lots of discussion. Just pay attention and you will do fine. I think everyone passed except the scooter girl, though I think she may have passed the writing half and only failed the riding part. Overall, it was a great experience and I'm happy with the day I spent learning how to ride a motorcycle safely on the streets of Washington. read more

Taking I have never ridden or even sat on a motorcycle up until this course, instructors Greg and Bruce were awesome along with there new journeyman. They made it fun and enjoyable, thinking to myself that this was gonna be super tough and stressful. But that wasn't the case at all, Greg did a good job diverting our attention to make it a relaxed and an enjoyable class. He often cracked jokes and told us straight up, if we aren't having a good time out here.......then maybe we shouldn't be riding. And he was right, the written test wasn't bad. I think as long as you've taken the time to read the DOL motorcycle Manuel and pay attention in class you would do just fine on the knowledge test. And as far as range days?, which were my favorite. Just take Greg's advice and try to enjoy yourself and have a good time, you won't have any problems. There were 2 people who did not pass the Skills test tho on the range, but all that were the riders fault by just making too many mistakes. And with that being said I think it was fair of Greg to grade and do what he did. Because I think it would have been bad if he would have just certified them and sent them off into the real world with the lack of skills they've shown during the test wouldn't have been good for anyone. So for me my Experience was a 10/10 and I would def. recommend this place to anybody looking to learn and ride for there 1st time or even for a refresher course. All in all a great course and package all in one, and I gotta say my confidence level has boosted through the roof since taking this course. I just finished the PSSOR intermediate off road course and loved it! The instructor, RJ, was great at explaning the techniques and extremely patient. The field was perfect for practicing the skills and techniques taught in the class. It's a great place to either learn how to ride if you're a beginner or learn good fundamental skills even if you're an experienced rider. read more

Really glad I took the basic rider course at PSS. Ive been riding dirtbikes for a couple years but for the extra knowledge and confidence boost I walked away with, it was well worth it. A little riding expirience or at least basic theoretical knowledge is very helpful but not necessarily madatory. Roger and Rob are great instructors and by the end of weekend the entire class passed both tests. A completely novice rider could be put off depending on the age/expirience/attitude of the class and instructor but with that being said, my expirience was an excellent one and I would reccomend this course to anyone. read more
