I've walked into this Ace Hardware store many-a-times as this little store has saved me many times over! Located in the Pukalani Terrace shopping center, this hardware shop is located just next door from the Bank of Hawaii (Pukalani Branch). A few times while I was working at the both banks - Bank of Hawaii, as well as American Savings Bank, I needed a particular tool, or lubricant, and lucky for me this Ace Hardware store was just next door, so it was convenient for me where I could just walk over & get what I needed to properly finish up a job. I swear if this Ace Hardware store wasn't here, it would be very tragic for me, as I would have to get into my rental car & probably drive all the way back down to Kahului to get to the closest hardware store. This Ace Hardware store is by far not the biggest store (as compared to some of the big box hardware stores), but each time I needed something, this particular Ace Hardware store has never let me down by having the item I needed! Service here is great! If you can't find what you're looking for, no shame, just ask a clerk and they will lead you to the area where the item is. Parking for this hardware store is easy, as the Pukalani Terrace Shopping Center has a lot of parking. Need to get a tool to finish up a project? I want to help support mom and pop shops in Maui, help keep the local businesses alive... But sometimes it gets hard, when you go into a hardware shop to pick up some concrete screws and the price is DOUBLE the amount of the big box shops in town. Probably not true of all items, but for the couple of things I have needed and didn't want to go into town, the price tags always shock me. Either you pay in gas to go to town or in the up charge. I actually like Pukalani ace hardware and shop there often, however I was shocked and disappointed by the behavior of one of your employees. Your employee Philip(manager?) was completely awful, in front of a line of customers ,to another employee Kevin(cashier). It was about a phone call , batteries in his radio etc. The way Philip spoke to Kevin was as far as I was concerned RUDE & embarrassing especially in front of approx. a dozen customers. read more

While upcountry, it is the best selection place for hardware. They even have push lawn mowers. However, the price is higher than another 15min to town and the selection can be limited. Easy to park and to get in and out especially if need parts. read more

Pukalani Ace Hardware, conveniently located Upcountry, offeres competitive prices to larger Downtown hardware stores and you get the added benefit of a very friendly, helpful staff. They carry an array of hardware, household and garden supplies that will not disappoint. This place is also my secret spot to find really awesome, great quality (including BPA free) food storage containers. Sounds funny, I know, but all of my most favorite and convenient "tupperware" have come from Pukalani Ace. Something is always of sale and I always walk out of this store feeling like I got a good deal. So no need to go to town, just hit up Pukalani Ace! read more

My kid was struggling to make a science project for school, a friend of hers told her about Mr. MAD SCIENTIST at Ace. We got WOWED by his service, not only he pointed us out to the right materials, but busy as he was when we came back a couple of hours later he welcomed us with a huge smile and dropped everything else he had to do to make the project work right then and there. That is EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE and true love for the work you do.
