I explained that I did not have my glasses with me and was unable to read the form. The receptionist, Heather, responded by pointing out that I had completed the sign-in sheet, in a tone that I found accusatory and dismissive. I explained that I was familiar with the sign-in sheet and that the print was larger, but that I could not read the medical questionnaire. After being asked to wait, the receptionist returned and again insisted that the form be completed. I reiterated that I was not refusing to provide the information; I simply could not read the form because of my vision impairment. I was then told that the dentist would not see me unless the form was completed. What was most troubling was that no assistance or accommodation was offered. No one offered to read the form aloud, help complete it based on my answers, provide a larger-print version, or suggest any alternative. Instead, I was left feeling as though I was being treated with suspicion rather than understanding. As a result, I left without being seen and without receiving the dental care I had scheduled. Patients with vision impairments deserve to be treated with respect and provided reasonable accommodation when needed. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I like Dr. Rotem. However, based on this, and several other disappointing interactions with his office staff, I think I would benefit going elsewhere for my dental needs.

I have extreme anxiety about going to the dentist but Jess, the assistant, was very kind and understanding of my personal needs. Dr Shariff was very easy to talk to and he took the time to listen to my concerns. I appreciate his patience and caring efforts as I'm a very nervous patient. The broken molar was 90% filling and was damaged on the back and side...I needed a crown. To my surprise I was told I would be walking out with a permanent crown in a couple of hours. Wait....what?!? After two sets of impressions and five visits, my husband now has to go back to have his dentures redone. Even the doctor that made them said he made them a little "big". Five more visits, more wasted time, and we do not feel confident that this set will be any better. I was in soooo much pain. I was an "out-of-Towner" (read: had no medical relationship with any kind of dr there). I went to an urgent care and while they were nice, they handed me some antibiotics and said "sorry....maybe you can take some Tylenol for pain". I decided to google and yelp dentists in the area and Dr Perle came up with good reviews. I figured I had nothing to lose. At first they scheduled me for the day after I called. Then the lady called me back and said Dr Perle would see me later that afternoon. I was sooo happy. I saw him. He was very pleasant. Very informative and knowledgeable. Excellent bedside manor. Thinks outside of the box for solutions. Long story short, he did multiple things to try to make my situation as best as it could be. He was very reasonable in what he charged for his help, let alone emergency help. He gave me medications to help along with 2 referrals to an Endodontist. What he did for me helped me get through until I got back to NJ (and enjoy my time while in NJ). And as a bonus, Dr Perle even emailed me the day after I saw him to just follow up and see how I was feeling. I was really impressed with Dr Perle and would recommend him to anyone. I obviously don't know what he would be like to have as a permanent dentist but I would certainly have used him if I was in NJ. Thank you Dr Update**** I just want to say I still think this place is fantastic! My dentist in NC asked if I could have xrays sent over. I emailed the dentist and within 24 hrs they had emailed my xrays. I can't tell you how many times I have had problems with dental records (xrays) being sent. My guy joked and said maybe he needs to make a trip back up to jersey to get HIS teeth done! Thank you again!
