I had a very disappointing experience at this dental office. When I arrived for my appointment, I was asked to complete an annual medical questionnaire. I explained that I did not have my glasses with me and was unable to read the form. The receptionist, Heather, responded by pointing out that I had completed the sign-in sheet, in a tone that I found accusatory and dismissive. I explained that I was familiar with the sign-in sheet and that the print was larger, but that I could not read the medical questionnaire. After being asked to wait, the receptionist returned and again insisted that the form be completed. I reiterated that I was not refusing to provide the information; I simply could not read the form because of my vision impairment. I was then told that the dentist would not see me unless the form was completed. What was most troubling was that no assistance or accommodation was offered. No one offered to read the form aloud, help complete it based on my answers, provide a larger-print version, or suggest any alternative. Instead, I was left feeling as though I was being treated with suspicion rather than understanding. As a result, I left without being seen and without receiving the dental care I had scheduled. Patients with vision impairments deserve to be treated with respect and provided reasonable accommodation when needed. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I like Dr. Rotem. However, based on this, and several other disappointing interactions with his office staff, I think I would benefit going elsewhere for my dental needs. read more

Initial visit, new to New Jersey. No recommendations to guide me. First thing they did was take a panoramic Xray of my teeth. NOT in my plan. My bad...shoulda checked. But aren't they supposed to? Visits have been rudimentary, mostly. Recently I had a concern about one tooth. Told it was needing to be extracted. My Advantage Insurance (let's not even go there...) did not cover extraction, but I was leaving town for an extended period of time, so to be safe, I had it pulled. Cost $1100. Looked up ICD codes...typical cost...a few hundred bucks. Time to go back for implant. Unable to connect with Insurance person in office, Ada, because these guys have a brick wall front on their phone system. I talk with easily recognized accent from somewhere far away, hard to understand, and hard to get in touch with office unless call taker asks a lot of questions. I don't like being grilled, I like to speak with someone in the office...uncomfortable feeling about this. I challenged the call taker...was he educated in dentistry, was he a company Insurance consultant? Etc. Dropped Ada's name and as per usual she is not available (x3 or 4 so far in the past) And this time she is on vacation this week. UGH! I call to find out if Delta Dental covers me with Rotem. Come to find out that they don't take NJ Dental coverage. (Delta Dental may have some coverage, I'm waiting for Danielle to call me back with the bad news though...as it didn't sound too positive). And she confused Delta Dental with NJ (state) Insurance plan. So: -Doing expensive xrays I don't have coverage for (they did drop the cost for that). -VERY DIFFICULT to get to office personnel, directly. -Insurance person in office has failed to get back to me at all ,over an extended period of time. She used a back office number to call me and left a message, but I had to go through the brick wall to get her back on the line and never did succeed. Back office number is main number but last zero is replaced with a 1, I believe. My quote for the whole thing (extraction/implant, extraneous costs listed...$5680. Care Credit is good for small payments, but no way can I pay this off in six payments. Looking elsewhere. Buyer beware!!!!!!!!! read more

Today was our first visit to Rotem Dental Care Had an appointment for 8:30 am, arrived at 8:20 am. We filled out the paperwork and handed it to the receptionist. The receptionist tells us our dentist was running late. The dentist would be an hour and a half late. The receptionist was very nice and professional. She was the only dentist in today. There was no other dentist to see. Being so late is unacceptable, 15 to 20 minutes you can understand. An hr and 1/2 there is no excuse. Unless God forbid there was an accident or weather related. We were left with no other choice to go back home. Just very dissatisfied. For it being our first visit, it wasn't a good experience. One star because receptionist was nice. Went for teeth cleaning for the first time there. Hygienist had problems taking an x-ray which they said I needed for a tooth problem I had. Had to call in another person to do it. They also mentioned I needed a tooth extraction in the back which I figured I would. The hygienist then proceeded to clean my teeth. Before I left I went to the desk to make a tooth extraction apt. They said it would be $500 paid right now to set up the appointment. Who bills you before you get it done???? I said forget about it. I canceled that procedure the very next day because something did not seem legit to me. 13 days later and, I still did not receive my refund. They wanted to charge a 3% credit card fee, so I wrote out a check instead. What big corporation does that? Then, I needed my records in which they charged me $25 for. The images were so blurry, my dentist couldn't even use them. He had to take his own anyway. Money thrown in the trash. Find a small dentistry, as this place only sees dollar signs! read more

As a 14-year private practice owner, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Business Consultant, I strongly recommend that this office hire an office manager or financial manager--someone clients can speak to about concerns. After multiple requests, I was never able to reach anyone for assistance. I was shocked by how this business operates, bouncing patients between the dentist and the front desk, both of whom seemed frustrated with each other for lacking information. I encountered confusion, miscommunication, and a lack of accountability. On at least two occasions, I arrived for an appointment only to be told they couldn't provide the promised service and was sent away. While the staff is kind, they clearly lack the necessary support to manage logistics effectively. This is a management issue. Without someone overseeing client satisfaction and operational flow, this practice risks becoming nothing more than a cash-driven system. For example, I was advised to get four crowns. I started with one, approved a quote, and confirmed the price with the front desk multiple times before scheduling my appointment. However, when I arrived, I was suddenly told the price had increased by hundreds of dollars due to an insurance adjustment--without any prior notice. When I asked for time to verify this, I was told doing so would result in me losing my appointment. This is unethical. Additionally, the fine print on the invoice (in near-illegible small print) stated that prices could change at any time based on insurance. I asked if they would honor the original quote, but they refused, demanding an extra $300. If I didn't pay that day, they threatened to throw out the crown. I was appalled--rather than honoring the agreed-upon price, they preferred to waste the product unless they could make an extra 25%. Following this experience, I consulted multiple other dental offices. Three different providers quoted me a price that aligned with my original quote from Rodem, not the inflated one they later demanded. More importantly, after further examination, a new dentist confirmed that I didn't even need the additional crowns. I ultimately switched to a practice in Freehold, where an office manager handled everything professionally and transparently--completely unlike my experience at Rodem. I'm glad others have had positive experiences, but if you require anything beyond routine care--especially if you have chronic illnesses, complex concerns, or need clear financial communication--I strongly recommend going elsewhere. This review should come as no surprise, as I voiced my concerns to staff and received no response. Based on their replies to other critical reviews, it seems this practice prefers to dismiss complaints rather than take responsibility. A reputable business should use feedback to improve, not deflect blame onto customers. The best response would be an acknowledgment of these issues and a commitment to ethical, patient-centered improvements. - Company responded about a completely different topic on google reviews- saying they stand by their diagnoses code- which I never talked about. My husband had a tooth extracted , they told him it would be $812.48 out of pocket so he paid it , 2 months later they sent a bill for another $182 when he called to ask why they said the insurance only paid $300 !! Ohhhhhh these statements are 100% true. Who said anything about an emergency charge? The $295 was what I was charged for the initial office visit and X-rays. Last year we followed our Dentist from a different practice to her new position at Rotem. The service was very good and of course we loved our Dentist. At the 6 month mark we returned for our cleaning and exam and we're told our dentist was not in that day and we had to see others in the practice. Ok, I guess my fault even though we previously booked the visit with our Dentist scheduled as the provider. They told us they would put on our file we only want to see our dentist as the provider. Next cleaning we smarten up and call the day before to make sure our dentist will be in to service us. We are assured no problem. I have permanent bridges and was told I had 3 cavities which I understand, but I was told they would have to break the bridges and might have to have implants. WHAT!!! I've been coming here for 6 years now. After a life of neglected dental health (family couldn't afford dental care, and neither could I until I was in my mid-20s) and terrible genetics, I have had many, many fillings, root canals, extractions, crowns, etc. My teeth now are more perfect than I could have ever imagined. I've had a lot of dentists here, but Dr. Amin has, by far, been my favorite yet. He is honest, empathic, caring, and incredibly good. I had three extractions here- the last one was done by some lady who's no longer here (thank god) and I legit nearly complained to the board about her licensing for the pain I was in for months after. This last time, I had a surgical extraction for the first time, and in three days I was completely fine. I've been keeping it easy anyway, but Dr. Amin did fillings for me and this extraction, plus a flipper, in one month- after an emergency appt- and I am in awe and so, so happy with it. Thank you guys so much. I know it's expensive to be seen here- or any office- as it's partially out-of-network for me, but a great dentist office that makes you feel safe and respected is incredibly hard to come by, but so worth it. My husband had a tooth extracted in October.. they charged him $600... outrageous!!! He has Atena insurance. The person processing him out told him he wasn't covered and had to pay by credit card. He was late for work so he did. It is now 2 months after he was there.. calling them numerous times asking them to send an itemized bill to the insurance company so he can get his money back.. He was told they would but of course to date they have not!! He had to go back, in person, and get a copy of his bill... they again told him they would fax it but they did not!! The office workers in that place should all be fired for incompetence!! Second visit for a cleaning, waited an hour and 15 min in dental chair, for dentist after cleaning, told dentist dont do examination, never returning, told her how long I was waiting, all she said, they are understaffed. This place is like a factory line , by 10:30 there was almost 50 check in pt signatures. Took 3 phone calls to get my xrays emailed to my new dentist. Terrible! Dentists are good, Hygienists are good. Accounting is the problem here. You can expect to pre-pay for service here, that is policy . You can also expect accounting on a third grade level. Every visit ends with an error in accounting. Errors in data entry, credits mis-applied and payments not captured. I spoke with Dr. Rotem about these problems during a routine visit and he told me to speak with him If II they weren't reconciled. After a recent visit I wasted time speaking with a young woman in accounting who could not reconcile a previous payment. I told her I would call back the next day when a supervisor was available. I spoke with accounting on the phone the following day and was on hold with several people for about 15 min. Finally a woman picked up and I asked if she was an accounting supervisor. She gave me a ridiculously long title that had nothing in it about accounting and I asked her if she was a supervisor. Condescension and attitude followed and the conversation ended with asking for Dr. Rotem to return my call. I have not heard from Dr. Rotem. I have a pre-paid account with un-used funds in it. I am choosing to walk away rather than have a stroke dealing with self important un-qualified people with attitude. And all of these problems were simple math. Yes, they are that bad! read more

Dr. Tawadros is exceptional! She extracted 2 of my teeth that went bad after having dental work done elsewhere before going to Rotem Dental. She was so gentle I did not feel any pain whatsoever, and I have had several teeth extracted in the past. She asked me several times if I needed more novocaine during the procedure & I find her to be very kind & compassionate. I saw an add on Facebook for Rotem dental for new patients at an amazing price. I called and got an appointment within a few days. I needed to have a tooth extracted and I don't have dental insurance. went this morning and had xrays and had my tooth pulled. being 70 I have gone to many dentist over the years and I can say without a doubt Dr Rotem was the best eve. He helped me out today and him and the staff are fabulous. made my visit awesome!
