I have to say this place was adorable. They sell plants inside the restaurant as well and cute memorabilia. Our food was very tasty and left me feeling light. We both had the chkn Salad sandwich the only difference was one of us had it on bread and the other had it in a bowl. The bowl gives you more food but you can't beat the bread. We also had a dessert, which was Amazing!! So beautiful and delicate, so perfect. The only reason this place loses a star is because of the rudeness of one of the employees. He wore a beanie, not sure name, but he was very rude to a gentleman who was nothing but nice. read more

Heaven to anyone on a plant based diet! My husband and I walked by this place on accident on our way to get coffee. We were immediately struck by the menu and had to try it. We're on a plant based diet and were THRILLED with all the options! They even had vegan desserts like cheesecake and truffles! Juice and smoothies are the majority of their menu, but they definitely have a decently sized food menu as well! We had the chocolate smoothie, avocado toast, and the mushroom banh mi. All were fantastic! I loved the cashew ricotta on the avocado toast and the bread was delicious. The mushroom sandwich was also fantastic! Very hearty and filling! Quite possibly one of the best meatless sandwiches I've ever had! Incredible ingredients add up to an incredible sandwich. I had the A.L.T Panini. It is Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato (a local heirloom tomato) with basil, shaved onion, vegan mayo served on Farm and Sparrow bread. This is one of the best artisan bread bakers in Asheville and we have a lot of rad bakers! I love that they support local farmers and have a simple but fresh menu that includes raw food, cooked, cold pressed juice and smoothies. I had a hard time choosing between several options here and I hope to make it back to try the things I didn't end up choosing before I leave Asheville! I ended up trying the mushroom banh mi, which was delicious (and the sourdough baguette it's served on was absolutely fantastic). The mushrooms had a true umami quality and were perfectly seared to still be juicy and not "squeaky" at all, like some mushrooms can get. My partner had the ALT, which he said was really good, but also something we could likely make at home so if you're looking for something a little simpler maybe this one is for you. My only complaint is that the sandwiches weren't served with the side of sesame cabbage slaw as advertised--I just weirdly really love any type of fresh slaw so I was looking forward to it and was a little disappointed to not receive any (I just assumed they were out). However, they did serve some homemade (I'm guessing) cucumber pickles on the side, which were pretty good, and I don't usually like pickles so that's saying something! The desserts looked and sounded amazing (like pieces of art, seriously!!) but we couldn't swing anything this time. Update: New owner and the warm heart and soul Jenny brought feels noticeably absent. Runny watery smoothies twice now and no fresh fruit on top like before. The price isn't feeling worth it anymore. I met a friend for lunch at Liberty Cafe and the line was so long that we went to Pulp & Sprout instead. It's a challenge for me to eat out because of an inflammatory issue that makes my diet limited. So going out to eat causes a little anxiety but also something I look forward to. I was looking forward to having a nice lunch with my friend and willing to eat just lettuce. When I ordered I looked at the ingredients listed on the wall menu. I asked to 86 what I couldn't eat and also asked if garlic was in the dressing. She said shallots so I asked them to leave off the dressing. What I ordered came as a sandwich or salad and I ordered the sandwich, and they brought me the salad. I should've been able to get it exchanged but when I brought up the onions I was in the wrong. The chickpea mash had big chunks of onions in it (not just blended in) even though it wasn't listed in the ingredients. At any restaurant I've ever been to making it right and good customer service is the way they do business and what most of us have come to expect, or we go somewhere else. Normal for the service industry in general. Not so in my experience at Pulp and Sprout. When I went to return my order, the person got defensive from the get go and said they do not do returns when there is an allergy issue, and showed me the little sign that was at the register and not clearly displayed. I had a pretty thorough exchange with the person with whom I placed my order. My friend heard the conversation about shallots, garlic and onions and why I can't eat them. The employee knew that I had an allergy issue. It escalated even though despite the onion issue, they got the order wrong to begin with. No apologies at all. The awful experience escalated to a point that I didn't want to deal with either person and I just wanted my money back so I could escape this experience. They wouldn't give me a refund. After all of his being a jerk, he so kindly reminded me that you can't eat out without onions being in the food. Nice. I'm vegan, as is the restaurant. Part of being vegan is being kind and fair to all beings. We all have a bad day here and there but they were intentional about how they treated me. I'm in my 50's and have eaten out a lot in my life, and I've never been treated with such an intentional antagonistic attitude. Not even "I'm sorry we got it wrong" and especially not a "what can we do to make it right", no I was wrong for asking for what I ordered. Neither my friend or I will return. It unfortunately spoiled the first 1/2 of my friend's and my lunch together. If you are in the restaurant business, as my friend is, you make it right, period. A restaurant is in the business of not only providing great food but also a memorable experience (pleasant you hope). If not, good luck. I will wait in line next time. There's a reason for the long line! BTW when it was Elements, I had a nice conversation with the owner. Very nice guy. Before the pandemic, I went many times for the smoothies and was happy when they added a full menu with vegan lunch. Perhaps he's not the owner any longer. The vibe has changed. If he is, he should know how his employees treat his patrons who need accommodations. read more

This place was beautiful and the food was delicious! The people helping us were so sweet and my mom and i had an amazing lunch. I feel like I say this a lot, but I can't believe I haven't reviewed Elements yet! My husband's dentist is just around the corner so every time he goes (more often than we'd like honestly) he picks up Elements for lunch. I love love LOVE their granola bowl. It is amazing. They make pretty much everything that goes into it, granola, nut mylk. It's so tasty. My husband really liked their Acai bowl. It's a bit rich for me personally though. We always grab 4 of their juices too. I'm a green juice fan for sure, but they also does these nut mylk ones that I'd not had before. One has cacao in it and it's the best "chocolate milk" I've ever had. They stuff isn't cheap, but honestly you're getting the best and freshest juice you can! They do several day juice cleanses too I think which sounds very interesting. If you're in the area looking for something tasty and yet healthy, check Elements out! read more

I met some friends from Asheville vegan society here for lunch. They easily accommodated our group with the sliding of some tables. I got the Pesto Panini sandwich, it was the best Panini I have had in a long time; ok ever, why not! The portion sizes seem to be just right, as I was nice and full after I finished all of it. I was excited to find such a place while on vacation. The atmosphere was lovely. The workers were very friendly. I ordered 2 smoothies to go, a Magnum and a Green Goddess. While on the highway, my mother said that her Green Goddess had bits of paper in it. As she was saying this she pulled out another piece of paper that she sipped. It definitely was not from the straw because I removed the paper wrapping from it myself. Needless to say, we were both grossed out. It was as if the tags from the fruits/vegetables were not removed and blended in with the drinks. We were too far away to return, so it was a complete loss on my part because both drinks were trashed after that. I hope no one else has this experience and more care is put into washing the fruits and vegetables that are used in the drinks. read more
