I was never really a smoothie person til I came across Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar. Maybe it's because my prior experience with smoothies predominantly consisted of overpowering amounts of apple, banana, or seeds from berries, and less so with more tropical fruits. In the week following my first taste of their smoothies, I probably ordered an additional 10 for myself alone. Overall, here's the rundown: Mango Tango - super sweet, not in a sickly way - more like the sweetness of a perfect mango Elite 8 - hints of strawberry (sometimes almost kiwi-like), mango balanced perfectly Pulp Coolada - just like a Pina colada, with a hint of banana. As one who loves Pina coladas, this was great, though I still preferred the mango tango and elite 8. Citrus Berry - wasn't bad, but in comparison, tasted "amateur-ish". Like if I dumped the Costco frozen berry mix into a blender and added just the right amount of sugar. Pulp Passion - like a guava-esque version of elite 8 (even though it doesn't have guava). As for their "enhancers", I'm not sure how much I actually believe their supposed effects, but the placebo effect has still been a nice way to justify the absurd amounts of smoothies I've been drinking... So why 4 stars? No smoothie should cost more than a full meal. read more

But every time I order now it seems a new trainee is making it and this last protein packer was liquid milk - I paid extra for almond milk and that's ALL that was in the cup - I can't believe they thought a liquid was okay to serve as a smoothie - I want to order now as I'm in a rush to go to work and the hospital -but I do not want a 8 dollar glass of milk so now I'm screwed and they are losing money. Overall good experience! I received coupons in the mail to BOGO so it initiated my thought to try it. Prices for large beverages for smoothies vary from $8 to $9.25. I tried pink dragon drink and all smoothies come with a free booster such as fat burner, fiber, energizer etc. additional boosters are .50 cent each. There are bowls and wrap options to try. Kids smoothies are $5 each which is a decent size for children. I would try again but definitely may wait for a coupon/or a deal as well. read more

I had a Guava Burner (Guava juice, mangos, strawberries, bananas, orange sherbet with fat burner and fiber blend enhancers) with an energy shot and a Spicy Turkey wrap. Both were good and even though they were busy it took very little time for my food to be prepared. The inside appeared to be clean and comfortable. Some people were sitting on their laptops enjoying some delicious food while browsing the internet. They offer couches and a few high tops. This is not a place I would generally go and sit to eat though. I took mine back to work with me to enjoy. I prefer pulp over Robeks because Robeks does not offer the food items that pulp has. Robeks only has 'bowls' which are just smoothie ingredients in a bowl. However, I visit Robeks much more frequently because it is closer to work and the location is easier to get in and out of during high traffic lunch hours. Since robeks does not have sandwichs I simply get a 6in subway sandwich next door. read more

My favorite smoothie place!! I always go for the guava burner! It has fresh frozen fruit like strawberries,bananas and mangoes with orange sherbet and two enhancers. Enhancers are powder supplements added to the smoothie to amp up the benefits. The two that come in the guava burner are fat burner and fiber blend. Then you can add in a third one of your choice for free! The kids size is really 16oz. so it's perfect for me! It's only $4! Which is a bargain in the smoothie world. The Mayfield Heights location is always clean and the young people working there are polite,friendly and helpful. I've seen reviews of other Pulp locations popping up here and there. This Mayfield Heights location opened up in July, but for some reason there are no reviews yet. Pulp is a great addition to Mayfield Road. In a sea of fast-food crap, it's nice to know that I can drive only about a mile to Pulp from work when I'm craving a healthy wrap or smoothie instead of trekking to either Legacy Village for Tropical Smoothie Cafe or to Robeks on SOM Center. The smoothies taste great and even the "kids" size is more than enough. They're a little bit more pricey than Robeks, but I believe the experience at Pulp is far greater than that at Robeks. Here's why: 1) You can swap/add/mix and match any ingredients you like for no extra charge. This came in handy when I saw a smoothie I liked, but didn't want orange sherbet in it. So I asked for vanilla yogurt instead. Another time, I added honey to a smoothie. The great part is that during my first visit, the person behind the counter explained all of this to me so that I knew in advance that I could, in essence, "create my own smoothie." This aspect of excellent customer service makes Pulp stand out. 2) The space is larger than any Robeks I've been to and includes some couches. While they didn't seem exactly comfy, at least there was more of an option than steel high-top tables. 3) The food is better. I would highly recommend the PB&G wrap, which is simply delicious. Anyway, next time you want a smoothie, I would suggest you give Pulp a try. Horrible service and very micro aggressive. After waiting 15 minutes to be acknowledged and tell them that I was there for a pickup I was handed the wrong order. Instead of apologizing for the mistake, the employee told me that "that's how it was rang up, we'll have to charge you extra" in a cold, agitated, accusatory tone. She never apologized for the misunderstanding or accommodated me but she did find time to charge me for their mistake. She was very cold when handing me my drink as if I made the mistake. The drink I ordered doesn't even come in the size cup they handed me. All in all the tone of the interaction was very passive aggressive. I get a beverages here often but this will be my last time. I love the pulp on Mayfield rd in Mayfield hts. I have been going about 2-3 times a week for the past year and the staff have been kind, respectful and professional every time. They made my day this week, truly. I had been craving my smoothie, but I am self quarantining so I can stay with my 89 year old mother in a week and not bring any possible germs. They wear masks, but not all their customers do so I didn't want to go inside. I called and they said they would be happy to bring it curbside. I can't tell you how nice it was to not have to sacrifice my smoothie along with seeing all my friends during the next couple of weeks. I went in and got 3 smoothies , wheatgrass and orange shot this morning. The gentleman was mumbling under his mask and talking to me with little to no eye contact and i had to keep asking him to repeat himself. He was leaning on the register and taking my order , it was very clear that he didn't want to be there! Once i received my smoothies they both had big chunks of fruit in them and were not blended almost at all. If i ever walk in and see him at the register , I'll take my services elsewhere.
