She goes beyond teaching just the moves and emphasizes their connection to diaphragmatic breathing which results in a deep meditative state throughout the practice. Imagine doing an entire practice with eyes closed. This serves to quiet us so we can really listen and feel our bodies. In the three months I have practiced under Alina, I sleep better and my sinus condition has virtually disappeared. I am off my meds. There is no one like Alina!

I came here for a few months in 2021 before realizing it wasn't the space for me. I'm sure it works for some people, but I wasn't one of them. The slower, less intense classes fill up and the hot yoga classes were nice but often too fast paced for me without any talk of adjustments for different bodies or abilities. I wouldn't recommend for most people I know.

It's been awhile since I've updated my experience at Rosewood. This review is based on a recent walk I took to get some fresh air and much needed exercise. After parking the car in Downtown Ravinia and walking to Rosewood beach and back to the car (round trip about 1.3 miles), I noticed a bunch of beach updates that are worth mentioning. First of all, gear up, because the beach is open this year and you'll be able to swim! It's a private beach and not free, so you'll have to follow this link (https://www.pdhp.org/beaches/parking-2/) for resident and non-resident fees. This year you can purchase a swim pass and a parking decal. I entered via the dirt path that leads down to the beach so I could make my way back up the stairs for a good stair climb. The path was nicely cleaned up and breathtaking all on its own. Surrounded by lots of foliage and overlooking the ravine, I walked until I met up with the beach boardwalk. The boardwalk is all cleaned up and nicely refreshed. Looks like it did when it first opened! The beach sand is all freshened up and ready for summer. The play structures for kids are covered (but not sanitized). The best part? The steep, really-great-for-your-legs staircase now has handrails! This is such a huge plus for when you can't quite make it up and need to lean over a rail to hold yourself up (don't judge). It was a nice quiet walk, since the beach isn't actually open yet, but it will get crowded for certain. Parking lots have meters.

Pulsation Yoga is more than a yoga studio, it's a community. They offer a range of classes, at all levels, & an excellent variety of times. I work FT, so many of the area studios didn't have a schedule that matched my commuting with my ability and needs. Their workshops are diverse, interesting, and held on weekends - there is truly something for everyone. My favorite part of Pulsation is the openhearted nature of the place and the people: everyone is friendly and made to feel welcome and capable. There is no attitude here. The owners, Jim and Kathy, are great at recommending particular classes for your ability, and if you aren't a bendy yogi, they can work with you to get you there if that's what you're after. The 101, 201, restorative, yin, and gentle classes are fabulous for anyone new to yoga or who is working through physical issues; their warm and hot classes are challenging without being inaccessible - everyone is conscientious about providing encouragement and/or modifications when they're needed. Pulsation is an alignment oriented studio that is also a registered Yoga Alliance school so you aren't going to find yourself discouraged but rather professionally and safely instructed on proper form and breathing. Their small boutique carries well-known yoga brands that are made in the US with the additional benefit of shopping local. I cannot say enough wonderful and positive things about Pulsation Yoga. Pulsation Yoga is wonderful. I went there for the yoga but am staying because these women know where it's at! The space is smaller than the wellness center where I formerly took classes but it is a nice peaceful space and the instructors are amazing. They are so well-versed and in tune with related ways to help you feel better. For example, I have been experiencing plantar fasciitis. After my first flow class I mentioned it as an aside to the instructor and she told me they have a yin class emphasizing myofascial techniques. They care about people, and it shows. read more

Very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable staff with an excellent atmosphere. You can tell that the instructors truly love what they are doing and that they are very good at it. There is no pressure; just the mat, some good music and you sweating out your stress. This is the best yoga studio that I have seen outside of chicago in regards to instructors. The brand new studio space is peaceful and spacious. Yes, it's also very hot. That is part of the experience. The teachers are the best. Welcoming of all abilities, friendly, and supportive. If you let them know about a specific body issue you have such as a painful lower back, they will help you make accommodations during the poses. The poses: a series of 26 poses with two breathing exercises. Doing the same set of poses during a 90 minute class over and over sounds like it may be boring, but it is anything but boring! Each class is different, how your body feels, how your mind feels. I feel calmer and less anxious, and my body feels stronger and more capable due to my yoga practice at this studio. I highly recommend.
