We recently held my niece's baby shower at Pummarola and did the pizza-making class, and I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the experience! From start to finish, the entire staff went above and beyond to make our event special and memorable. Our instructor, Jerry, was absolutely amazing! He was so patient, engaging, and fun with everyone, especially with the Tia Abuela who wanted to win best pizza dough. And William was beyond gracious and accommodating. There was literally nothing we asked for that he wasn't willing to help with from moving tables around, helping with high chairs, adding music, and making sure everything flowed perfectly. The hospitality alone deserves 5 stars, but then there's the food... WOW. The pizza was absolutely delicious, authentic, and fresh. And the desserts? Incredible. The Nutella pizza dessert and the fried dough with Nutella were a huge hit with everyone at the shower. I ordered over two hours ago and my food is still just sitting there. I called and asked if they could remake the sandwich so I wouldn't get a cold, soggy veggie sandwich (which is honestly inedible once it sits that long). They refused and said it's not their problem because they already made it. So I'm expected to pay for food that's been sitting for hours? Uber was useless and even hung up on me, but the restaurant could have fixed this in two seconds and chose not to. It's not about the sandwich, it's the complete lack of basic customer service. Such a fun night at Pummarola Midtown! My friend and I signed up for the pizza-making class and had an absolute blast. We made our own dough from scratch, kneaded it by hand, added sauce, and picked our own toppings--then they grilled our pizzas for us. We hosted our baby shower at this location for about 25 people. Jerry and William were absolutely amazing with our group - from the beginning of our set up to the very end of our event! We brought our own decorations and party favors and they made sure we had everything we needed to bring our vision to light. They truly made the experience so fun for everyone! We especially appreciated how they took great care of our grandmothers and included them in the class even though they are less physically able. We received such great feedback from our guests. The pizza was outstanding, and so many guests couldn't believe they hadn't dined there before! The dough has a great flavor, and the pizza has the perfect amount of sauce and toppings. I ordered olives and was not a fan of them being whole. I wish they were sliced. We also ordered Gnocchi Alfredo, which was delicious. The Alfredo sauce was some of the best I have had. The Nutella dessert pizza was very good as well. I would have left the bananas off and put more strawberries on it. The combination of sweet strawberries withe soft dough and Nutella was a great flavor. Went here for a group pizza making class. Our leadership picked the package where we got to make our own dough (and take it home), but then we were served Pummarola pizzas (and didn't make our own). I believe there's a class option to make your own pizzas too? Regardless, fun activity, and their pizza is fantastic. The direction on how to make dough aren't as intense/detailed as the Mister 01 class, but this class is significantly less expensive than that one. The pizza did not disappoint, only issue was that we felt the dough needed to be cooked a bit longer but overall its a 10/10, sauce was light and toppings fresh. You order the pizza and they give you a number and then the pizza is serve at the table to you. Service is quick. Pizza is around $ 11-16 personal depending on what you order. They also have option for other things like calzone, pastas, soups and salad if pizza isn't your thing. The dough we made was put in a container to take home and make pizza as it needs to rest for a few hours. Came here via a Groupon on a Wednesday evening for a pizza making class. TLDR: We had a lot of fun and the food was delicious. Franco was our lead. My familiy plus 2 other couples. Donning our paper chef hat and apron, we started with how to make the dough was pretty messy but also fun. Since the dough needs to rise more than the class time we all put our doughs in to go container and a ready dough was provided. We stretched it out to make a pizza shell, then added cheese and sauce. Then we could choose up to 3 toppings. While they fired the pizza they brought a drink of choice. Then we dined. Pummarola has been my favorite since i used to live in Coral Gables & it never disappoints. Today i ended up having to complaint about the pistachio pizza- the staff hassle free made a new pizza for us and even made up by giving us a complimentary nutella crepe for dessert. Had the most perfect time celebrating a friend's birthday today while sipping on sparkling water, vino and making delicious pizza -- for an outstanding price! Huge shoutout to Ivan for making it happen, we got seated at 5:30 pm and began making our dough, which was the funnest part in my opinion. We then were able to keep that dough for us to take home, since it needed to sit for around 48 hours. Then, they brought out dough that was ready for us to need and make our pizza. Ivan helped us explain the entire process for us, helping us one step at a time. He was so patient as we were all laughing, and enjoying our evening and then got to add our favorite toppings of choice. From arugula to truffle oil and burrata, mushrooms, prosciutto you name it -- we all added our favorite toppings and once we were done, we put our pizzas in the oven and in a couple of minutes they were ready to enjoy. The acid in the pesto helped balance out the richness of the cheese. The chicken was grilled nice, with charred notes that supported the charred dough. They have a Mondays special for a personal size pizza for $6. It's filling for sure. Glad it's close to my job as well. Makes for a nice quick lunch! It's small biy with ample seating and parking can be tricky. Few street parking spots outside the front of the restaurant however there a small lot in the back that you can easily miss. Let me start by saying how excited I was to try this Italian restaurant. After reading about them on their website and most of their other Yelp reviews, I knew I had to come here for dinner. When we arrived the two guys at the counter were counting their tips and didn't bother saying hello. I let them know it was our first time and if they had suggestions and they just said the whole menu is good. So my husband got the lasagna which he said was ok and I ordered the gnocchi. I guess we should have ordered pizza because that's what was made very quickly and the pasta dishes took much longer. The guys cooking the pizzas were vaping and texting while cooking (gross)! But the worst of it was when I got my gnocchi it tasted over worked and chewy. I'm Italian- I know. I appreciate the restaurant remaking my dish after I had to find someone, but unfortunately, the gnocchi was still the same. The sauce was good but once you over work the gnocchi "dough" it can't be saved. I also suggest checking on your customers because I didn't enjoy trying to chase down a worker. We ordered the Nutella pizza as well and the whole bottom was burnt and it's just a hard no from us. From the lack of hospitality to the bad food, I wanted to let other people know before coming here to try a different place for Italian food! read more
