As a concept, Pump It Up is fine enough. It's like a warehouse, with 2 large rooms of huge inflatable obstacles. The kids get to bounce and have fun, and it's a good time had by all. As a BUSINESS, these people have A LOT of room for improvement. We just had our daughters 4th birthday here, and let me count the ways in which things could have been so much better. First, THEY. DO. NOT. PICK. UP. THE. PHONE. And don't bother leaving a message, they won't call you back. I literally must have called them about 15 times, and they answered ONCE, and called me back ONCE. They are a NIGHTMARE to communicate with. Secondly, if you DO get a hold of them, prepare to be nickel and dimed to death; or more accurately, 50 dollar to 100 dollared to death, as this place is EXPENSIVE. You want to bring your own decor? $10 bucks. Put stuff on the walls with tacky putty only? $5 Want them to drop balloons? $50. Fill up balloons? $5 a balloon. There is absolutely no outside food allowed, (except your own cake, confusingly), but you can bring your own food, for a $75 dollar fee. About their food; you get 2 kid cut slices of pizza per kid, and 2 pitchers of juice or soda. Oh, you want water because your kids don't drink sugary drinks? Too bad. They refused to give us TAP. WATER. They straight up said "no." They said we could buy water for the kids, $1 a bottle. A CASE of 48 bottles is $4; you want to charge me 3x more for 1/3 as much?! (Also, you can't bring in a case of water.) Is your kid diabetic? Celiacs disease? Sensory issues? Kosher? Tough crap. You eat their food, or pay the $75 to bring yours. We ordered a hoagie tray from them for the adults, and it was SEVENTY TWO DOLLARS, for 3 wawa-esque hoagies. I've never felt more ripped off in my life. THEN, they automatically add 18% gratuity, (and a $40 photo package), but they will take it off, if in front of the entire staff and all of your guests, you state that you want it off. (They settle the bill in the main room as everyone is leaving.) The place is fine, if a little hard to find, and a little rough around the edges, but having a party here is something I'm glad that I'll never have to do again. Our bill was almost EIGHT. HUNDRED. DOLLARS. That's for 2 hours. It's a great racket for them. Over $650 for a 2 hour party. You read that right. Also, the "host" kid was just terrible. Completely unenthusiastic, and was rushing the kids through every single thing. My daughter didn't even have a second to enjoy a slice of her birthday cake because the host was moving on to something else literally a minute after handing out cake. THEN, they had the audacity to add a 18% grat onto the bill. lol. So, that host kid who did terrible and kind of wasn't needed deserves over $100 for 2 hours of "work"? Yeah, no. Also $30 for "photo package"? The camera they used was from like 2005 and the pictures were all terrible. Why wouldn't anyone want that and pay that much? They add that onto your bill. you have to ask them to remove it. Over all, this place is WAY too expensive for what you get. What you get is next to nothing. Should be less than half that price. Would completely skip if you were interested and see this review. Much better options out there where you'll get to spend more time, have more fun and spend less money. read more

My son attended a birthday party here and had a blast. He jumped in a couple locations and the attendants would explain stuff to the kids. Pretty boring for parents as we stand around waiting for each session but it's about the kids so was expected. After the jumping sessions, we went to a party room where there was pizza and cake which is usually provided by the host. They did a freeze dance activity and sang. I give it one star just because I feel bad for the staff. This place literally nickel and dimes you for everything and anything. A base party is about $650. I did two add ons, a party theme for $65 and the "adult package" for $75. The party theme came with not enough paper plates to cover the 24 kids, so they had to add in just colored plates, with a small cup and a flimsy plastic table cover for one table. They probably made $60 off of that theme. I couldn't believe I paid $65 for so little. Second they don't even supple water for the kids. They jump for 1.5 hours and the only way they get water is if you pay $1.50 per bottle. That's crazy. Every single child should have water after this kind of activity. Instead they get a pitcher of juice, and charge you $7 for any additional pitcher they use. I asked the manager if I could bring in ONE case of water. They wanted to charge me $25 just to do that! The manager, Louis, was so rude, and he spoke down to me like I have never had a kids birthday party before. On top of that made this incredibly demeaning statement to me saying "we'll have you ever been to Disney world?! They don't let you bring a case of water!" I could not believe his audacity. Number one sir, you are not Disney world, and two you obviously haven't been yourself because water is FREE, accessible, and you CAN bring in your own food and water! Disgusted by this experience. Have already shared with almost all of my mommy friends how horrible this place is. For spending almost $1k for TWO HOURS, NOT WORTH ONE SINGLE PENNY to be treated that way. Even if they cannot provide a service, and endanger children they refuse to refund any monies paid. BEWARE! According to their website Open jump is non-refundable. Even though they had a fire alarm go off and cut the jump time in half. They endangered my children and refused to offer any solutions for over 40 minutes. When the alarm went off I was in a inflatable with a child and my fiancé was in an inflatable with another child. Our 7 year old and his friend were directed outside into a parking lot without us as we climbed out of the inflatables (and were not being watched by the staff). This is a warehouse and people speed through the parking lot, including the general manager that sped down the parking lot where we were waiting when she showed up. I am overall disappointed with the customer service experience. When bringing the issue to the attention of an employee I was blatantly not told the truth. On our visit to Pump It Up Blackwood our 1:40pm-3:10pm session that started at 1:50pm was cut short at 2:36pm when a fire alarm went off. Everyone was required to leave the building, but children were let out into a parking lot without parents as doors were opened and everyone was rushed out, so I had to frantically search for my 7 year old and his friend. We waited in the parking lot for over 25 minutes. In this time frame the employees hung out with each other and we were told they were waiting on the fired department, which had not been called. The manager on duty waited for the general manager to come to make a decision, because it was not safe to be in the building. However the staff was able to enter the building to retrieve their cash register funds and a green bag labeled tips. When the general manager appeared she was more focused on the customers pulling into the parking lot for the next bounce rather than the few remaining from the current jump. She told the staff it was fine to go back in, but they did not because the alarm was way too loud to do anything. While we waited several families left and 3 were remaining. The staff directed the general manager to one family and she went back inside, retrieved jump passes and gave it to the customer. She then rushed back into the building and we were left standing. When she came back out she stood at the stairs and we were not addressed. At this point it was 3:15pm we were upset and my fiancé spoke to the manager for a refund. The manager stated she had jump pass cards and the other person was okay with them and gave them to my fiancé. After inspecting the cards there were several exclusions, one of which was the value was less than what we paid. She approached the manager again and the manager wrote on the card good for any jump with initials. At this point we just frustrated and left because it appeared the staff did not have a clue how to handle this situation. I do not like the idea of being forced to return to an establishment that did not meet the service I paid for and had me wait to find any kind of resolution. I called and asked about a refund and they told me I could come in and get open jump passes. A manager but not the general manager stated I must have left before they gave them out to everyone. And I can only get a pass because there was only 5-10 minutes left of jump time. This was an outright lie. She stated they gave the jump passes out right away and I must have left right before they did. Another outright lie. I told her this was not true as I notated the time we walked out and I stayed the whole time, but if they have every customers information why had they not reached out to them and told them to come in. She stated people had been calling all week about it. I asked if everyone got passes why would people be calling in all week about it, caught in another lie. I had 4 children with me and it was for my sons birthday, so I do not want to return to try again. The manager I spoke to on the phone stated the alarm was not their fault, it was the business they are connected to and they could not control it because they are housed in a warehouse with a car repair shop and they are still several days later trying to fix it. Throughout the call this manager kept making up why they could not refund it. She stated she spoke to general manager and was assured we cannot get a refund. I asked for the district manager and they are independently owned. I asked for the corporate customer service number for the franchise and they can not provide it as the manager doesn't know it, the general manager is new and doesn't know the number. I have been waiting on a phone call from the manager Jim for two weeks...he was too busy when I called and must be busy still. With incompetent staff that lies and endanger the welfare of children, I would not recommend this business. read more

to be noted - most reviews below are not from PUMP IT UP. Pump it up is in the same location as the " old" Bounce U. Under new ownership , this sometimes tricky to find space is now called PUMP IT UP- Though it can be difficult to see the signage from the street, once you find the location, you will not be disappointed. The facility is CLEAN and welcoming for active children. The lobby is enticing with it's bright colors, life size connect 4 game, and a fun spin wheel to have the kids act out silly scenarios, for the kids to use while they wait for the bounce to start. There is a space to sit and watch a short instructional video prior to jump time. Once that is out of the way it's off to the bounce rooms. There are two large bounce rooms full of inflatables. The children spend time in each room under the guidance of the employees. ( BRING SOCKS) There is plenty to keep the kids busy. I do recommend this for children who are steady on their feet and comfortable climbing, as there really isn't too much to do for the smaller tots. On my way out I read about parents night out. That looks like something to check out, next time! * this did not get a 5 star review because although we had a blast, I'm not 100% satisfied with the staff who managed the rooms while we jumped. I had my son's 5th birthday party a few weeks ago. I was overall happy with the party and my son and his friends had a blast but a couple of things I will note here: #1: the video of pictures taken by the staff during the party which plays in the party room during pizza and cake, well for some reason they not only showed pics of my son's party but also included someone else's party as well which was odd. #2: I brought ice cream cups to go along with my son's cake. I notified the staff at check in and again when we got into the party room for pizza, but unfortunately the staff forgot to serve these. #3: during the checkout/payment, I was asked about the amount of gratuity to leave for the party staff (at this point I hadn't realized the ice cream was never served). this was really awkward for me since the party host was standing with us at the counter. I agreed to the recommended 18% (which would up being $70) but would have chosen the standard 15% gratuity since the staff had made a few mistakes. When I called the next day to speak to the manager, they apologized and offered us a few bounce passes to make up for their mistakes. Would I have my party here again? Sure! Also, two of my son's friends who attended the party had so much fun they convinced their parents to have their party here as well! read more

I originally thought that this place was pretty good. That was until I accidentally left my kids jackets there after an open bounce. I immediately called the front desk and was told that they would hold them for me. When I returned in 2 weeks, because it was the first day I had the time to go back, I was told they threw them out. All of a sudden, they had a health code policy, that is not listed on their website, waiver, or office. The woman's response was smug, by saying, "Well, I'll check with my corporate attorney to see what I should post." As you can see, customer service is not a priority. Formally Bounce U, Pump It Up is a family friendly play place for children. It features two large rooms of bounce slides. I would say a good age group to consider having a birthday party here is between 3+ My daughter is 1 & 1/2 & there really wasn't much to do for her. That being said, a reason for the 3 stars is lack of entertainment for 2 year olds or less. If your child is energetic & likes to run around, then this is the perfect place. The bounce slides (I guess that's what they're called) are a decent size in the first room we entered. They go as tall as the seeling. The second room had a more traditional bounce castle style bounce slides & what looked like a mini obstacle course. The kids are in a room for about 45 iminutes. I feel that second room was a little more 1-2 year old friendly, but not by much. The other complaint I have is that they let the kids spend too much time in the rooms. I think 45 minutes per room is a bit much. I would suggest maybe 25-30 minutes a room...? I was hoping they would've added more since they redid the place, but it honestly looked the same to me. read more
