We are not familiar with the area and were surprised to find this cute little ice cream shop. We ordered the Superman ice cream, chocolate chip ice cream sandwich with vanilla ice cream, and a scoop of vanilla with chocolate. There were three of us! LOL The Superman ice cream was creamy and extremely flavorful,however, became monotonous after a while? The cookie was okay but the vanilla ice cream was very Icy in texture. I went back and actually checked out the actual pumphouse. The flavors were great but the consistency was way to crumbly. I may have caught a bad batch, but I am used to my liquid nitrogen ice cream being super smooth. Love their custard! This place is great. The variety of custard flavors is amazing and some of the best ones (deep dark chocolate and salted caramel) are gluten-free, too. The custard is high quality, some of the best custard I've ever tried. My favorite is the dark chocolate, but the Vanilla and salted caramel both rate pretty high with me, too. Really, I don't think you can go wrong with any of their liquid nitrogen custard varieties. If you really like frozen custard, this is probably the best spot for it for miles. You don't have to get the homemade waffle cones- the cake cones are perfectly suitable- but I prefer the waffle cones, though they cost slightly more. I think they're worth the extra money. You can take your custard in a bowl, cake cone or homemade waffle cone, but the waffle cones are a $1 extra (scoop size doesn't matter). Aside from delicious custard, they sell Faygo slushies, sundaes and terrific shakes. The service has usually been outstanding. Even when there was a line to get custard, we were still served quickly and I've never encountered a terribly long wait, even in peak season. read more

On the way home from Renaissance Festival we had a hunger for ice cream. Found this place in search and very, very happy we did. Great custard ice cream, I love a good waffle cone and they exceeded my expectations of what a waffle could be. Took a bit to locate the small brick building, but well worth it. Cute little nitrogen ice cream bar behind Fenton firehall. It's in a cute little park so you can get ice cream and walk around or let your kids play at the small play ground they have. For obvious reasons it's only open during summer. They have bowls, cake come, and house made waffle cones (smells amazing!) I like their branding it's very simple yet attractive. I like that their menu clearly labels which flavors are gluten free, or dairy free. My favorite flavor is their deep dark chocolate with Michigan cherry sauce drizzled on top. read more

Delicious and fresh custard. Waffle cones are made on the spot. They are indulgent and thick. These aren't the thin waffle cones you get everywhere else. They are the real deal. Getting dessert here is a must if you have dinner at Fenton Fire Hall or somewhere close. It's out back behind the Fire Hall and next to the river. Great summer time hang out. read more

The bad part was the atmosphere outside...a large group of young teens smoking and swearing loudly, riding skateboards all over the walking paths, having their friends lay on the ground while they jumped them with their bikes and taking turns riding a moped across the bridge. Went last night with my son. Stood in line for 40 minutes with 10 people in front of me. Very unorganized and slow service. The group in front of me was recognized by the counter help. She came out and started talking to her friends even though there was a large line forming behind me. The manager made an appearance from the fire hall grabbed the last waffle cone and started to eat it. When the person in front of me ordered a waffle cone she was told it would take 5 minutes. Instead of serving the next group we had to wait for her to get a cone. Terrible effort service and management. My son finally got his key lime which was so sweet he only ate half. I had the chocolate which again overly sweet and grainy because they used cocoa powder instead of melted chocolate. BAD. read more

Great ice cream! The honey cinnamon is my favorite so far. The waffle cones are delicious. It can be a long wait. I think they still have to work on some kinks and need to find ways to train/support the workers better. They make the waffle cones on the premises while you wait. They probably could stand to have more varieties of custard and ice cream, but theirs is so good, it really does not matter to me. Amazing in every way. Best custard anywhere . Honey flavored custard is my number one but evrrything is worth trying at least once. I don't believe any of thecomplaints about standards or service.
