Awesome food. We go there atleast once a week. If you want authentic Pakistani food then this is the place to go.

I had chicken haleem and my companion had goat karhai, both were excellent and unusual (being Pakistani dishes, in the usual realm of Indian food). The goat wasn't goat-y (think, goat cheese) at all. We started with potatoes bara (really good potato croquettes) and the garlic naan was perfect, pungent but not caustic. Friendly, sociable waiter. Place is very neat, very good service. It's really nice to get something a little different than usual Indian standards, as much as I love them. It wasn't crowded -- in the same strip mall as Eo Noodle. They also do takeout. I worry about good, slightly unusual restaurants like this -- I wish I could eat out every night support good restaurants. Please try it! read more

My friend's family used Punjabi Grill to cater her pre wedding get togethers a couple weekends ago and I was amazed at how delicious the food was. I live in Framingham and have driven by Punjabi Grill and have always wanted to stop by and try it. I will be back for more of their delicious Indian food. read more

I give it 4 stars for the food! I loved it, the paneer was spicey and delicious! Tandoori tender and flavorful. Mango Lassi was nice also. The ambience, service and bathroom need serious help. We have been to the restaurant a couple of times. Always liked their chicken Biriyani, it has good flavour and is spicy. We also tried Lahore fish fry which tasted super good since it had the right amount of flavour and spice level. read more

The food here is totally delicious. We've tried about half their menu, and Punjabi Grill is definitely one of my top 5 restaurants in the area. But don't eat in. It's way creepy in there, and their service is just about as slow as possible, even though there are only 2 or 3 tables. But take out or delivery? Yes please! The garlic naan is a bit too much for me, but other than that, everything is amazing. read more

Really enjoyed the food here. I walked in to grab some takeout for dinner and was greeted by a friendly man (seemingly the owner). I ordered the vegetable samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala with rice and garlic Naan. The owner actually suggested the garlic naan so good upsell by him! My food came out quickly - The samosas were cooked perfectly. The Chicken Tikka Masala was very heavy (lots of oil) but still tasty. I asked for them to make it spicy but it wasn't spicy enough. The Naan was pretty good but it's very garlic-y (fresh garlic slices on top). I would have preferred the Naan be cooked a bit more but it was still tasty. Authentic Punjabi food. Been there several. Always enjoyed their buffet. Reasonably priced and good quality food.

Very average buffet cuisine here. The saag is probably their best item on the buffet, as it is well spiced as opposed to the green glop so often served at buffets. The other items are standards, like naan, tandoori chicken and curry. Nothing really exciting. The rice is a bit dry, probably a consequence of the buffet lights. Service is attentive. read more

After a long drive we settled into a nearby hotel & needed some food ASAP. When I asked the guy at our hotel for a local vegetarian place he suggested Punjabi Grill right away. We made our way, no small task across a road that allowed no u-turns and sat down and waited. Do not be put off by the atmosphere, the place looks like a dank-hole in the wall in a strip mall, but the food is amazing. We were hungry and although everything moved at a snail's pace the food was delicious. Their primary business seemed to be take-out and delivery, so it is understandable why there is little attention paid to the decor. But not to be missed for the food. read more

For what it is (an non-pretentious casual-eating restaurant), Punjabi Grill is great. I've eaten food from both the buffet and the à la carte menu, and it's always been fresh (noticeably so), flavourful and delicious. This place has kind of become our "go-to" place when we want a bite. read more

The restaurant was very empty when we went there for dinner around 8pm. The interior was very simple. Most of the walls were decorated quite nicely but the tables and chairs were basic. The place was quite small, dark and cold. They could have turned up the heat a little bit in that place. Service was generally good, although we were a bit disappointed with the two masala tea we ordered. I don't think this place does customization very well. We ordered two masala tea, one of which was to have very little cardamom and the other one to be made the usual way. When the waiter brought out the tea, he told us he made them both the same way. Waiter did not offer fixing it when we told him that one of the teas was not like what we ordered. We had to ask him to bring a little bit more cardamom for one of the tea. The food was very good. We ordered Rikki Tikki Tavi (potato patties fried in chick pea batter), goat haleem, achar paneer and punjabi special prata. All of them were very good. We ordered the achar paneer spicy and it came out spicy, unlike some other indian restaurants where their definition of spicy is closer to mild, this place actually knows what spicy is. Their paneer is really good, better than other indian places. Though their haleem was good, the one we had at Kabab & Tandoor in Waltham was better both in terms of taste and value. Prata was good; we had not seen that kind of prata on the menu of other indian restaurants we have been to here in New England. One thing that is also worth mentioning is that we were amazed at how little our clothes smell like food when we were done. Most indian (and also chinese) restaurants we have been too would leave quite a smell on our clothes. I have to say that although we do not mind the smell of indian food on our clothes (because we love it so much), it was still nice to notice that there was hardly any smell on our clothes. read more

Went for dinner on a cold Sunday night. The place was almost empty and the service was prompt. Rikki Tikki Tavi (potato patties) and meat samosas for appetizers were both quite good. I ordered my Goat Karahi "hot" when given the choice of mild, medium or hot spices. And boy was it spicy! I especially loved the long sticks of julienned ginger. A refreshing change from the usual tepid flavors! My wife ordered the Special Biryani and had the good sense to order "medium." Both were very good, as was the naan. For starters, this review is for take-out. I don't think I would eat there only because of the fluorescent lighting (which is a little harsh). As a result, I can't comment on the service, because who cares about that when you're just picking up. That being said, the guys seem relatively pleasant. The food RULES. Chicken Tikka, Saag Paneer, Malai Kofta....everything is extremely tasty. I have started asking them to make the dishes a little spicier when ordering on the phone and they offer a couple of degrees of spiciness. Maybe a little pricy, but you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Punjabi Grill is great for those who want a fast and tasty Indian/Pakistani meal. The food is extremely flavorful and fresh, but my only issue is the service. The place is very short staffed, therefore they run into many unsatisfied customers. If you are willing to wait a little longer for service the food is pretty good. read more

I have a tried a few Pakistani / Indian restaurants in Massachusetts/NH area and I think Punjabi Grill is one of the best one around. They have fresh, well-prepared and delicious items on their menu. I work in Framingham and go to this restaurant for Lunch buffe. Their buffe is reasonably priced and great quality. They have good service. Their dinner menu is awesome as well. This place needs to be avoided at any cost. I ordered a mutton biryani (to-go) and after opening the box, to my horror, it was mutton fry sandwiched between two layers of PLAIN WHITE rice!! If they don't have a particular item available, they should inform rather than cheat the customer like this. Utterly disgusting! I wonder if they would have dared to do the same if was a dine-in order rather than to-go. If the owner of restaurant is reading this review, he owes me a refund. read more

I love how Punjabi MC went from rap collaborations with Jay Z, to opening up his own grill in Framingham.

Went there at 4pm for an early dinner and upon entering the establishment found the staff were passed out IN THE DINING AREA.....wow. A few peeked up at us without any acknowledgement and did not even get up, even knowing there were customers in the dining area. Needless to say, we will not be back. read more

My husband and i stopped here on the way to Boston and really liked the food. As the restaurant was empty at first i wasn't so sure but we had the Lentil soup which was excellent, a slight tomato base with veggies, something different than straight daal. We also ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Naan and both were great. The marsala tea was aldi good. The waiter was fine, pleasant also. Punjabi Grill is a real gem of the metrowest area. My wife and I have been eating Indian food for over twenty years in and around the Boston area and all over the world (we lived in London for a year) and this restaurant is one of the best. The food is expertly prepared with the freshest ingredients and most fragrant spices imaginable. But that's not it: there is a warmth to the service and "homestyle quality" to the food that makes you feel like you are a special guest being treated to a home cooked meal. The Saag Paneer, Shrimp Vindaloo, Shrimp Tikka Masala and Mulligatawny soup are among our favorites. There are also some other wonderful Pakistani dishes that should not be overlooked which make this restaurant not your garden variety Indian fare. The lunch buffet is a treat with myriad of vegetarian and meat dishes to choose from for a very nice price. Don't misjudge the humble and modern store front upon walking in; this is the real deal. We have found Punjabi Grill varies in quality throughout the year and is inconsistent. Sometimes meals we have received are good and sometimes meals are lacking in quality and overall not a decent value. On the last experience we ordered three masala curry entrees and they supplied one container of rice. This has happened several times before. Also a Naan side order was charred and several entrees were seasoned very "hot" even though we specifically requested them to be mild. read more

I can't say much about the dine-in experience but I always get the chicken karahi for takeout. A bit greasy but really good. I ventured a bit further to get the chicken biryani and that was OK. I can come back for some good chicken biryani any time! read more

My new favorite Indian spot. Not sure what the difference is between Indian and Pakistani food but what I do know is it's always fresh and never too spicy. Lunch buffet is great and goes to 3 PM. Dinner plates are all reasonably priced. If you've never had Indian food or eat it all the time I highly recommend giving it a try! read more
