True to the name, Mt Airy is a working orchard and farm with a very impressive farm store operation. On this fall day, there was a dizzying selection of produce, baked goods, frozen prepared foods (pies and more), gourds, pumpkins, apples, and much more. There are apparently pick your own opportunities as well. Parking is plentiful and Mt Airy is well-staffed with a very friendly team of folks. The farm store is immaculate. Note that Mt Airy is in a very rural area off winding, narrow roads. Pay attention to your GPS and drive carefully. Highly recommend this York County gem.

With butternut squash for $1 and acorn squash for $.75 each, I knew I was in my seasonal glory. The owners wife takes prize in her heirloom varieties and has a wall of each pumpkin variety with their unique name and suggested uses. Ranging from $6 for a large cinderella pumpkin to $3 turban, I filled my cart and headed back to Brooklyn to roast, can and preserve these beauties. I would say this is worth the country drive!

I first stopped by Double Vision Acres over the summer just to check it out and was impressed with their farm store and selection of butchered meats. But when I saw they were hosting an event called Flannel Fest, I knew I had to make a return trip. I mean... free parking, free admission, free live music, and free petting zoo access if you wore flannel? Challenge accepted. I got there around 1:30 p.m. and found plenty of parking in the field just a short walk from all the action. The parking attendant was super helpful and friendly -- always a good sign. The place was hopping, with families, couples, and plenty of folks in flannel soaking up a perfect sunshiney fall day. Cody Ross Smith was performing live, the music was great, and the overall vibe was exactly what you want from a fall festival -- laid-back, cheerful, and full of small-town charm. Fire pits were burning, hay bales had been turned into makeshift couches, and kids were running around between the petting zoo and the play areas, having a fantastic day! The farm store was open too, selling baked goods, meats, and handmade soaps and lotions. It was the kind of afternoon that makes you wish fall could stick around forever. Huge kudos to Double Vision Acres for not just running a farm, but building a sense of community around it. Well-organized, family-friendly, and totally worth the drive. Tulip Days at Flinchbaugh's Orchard had been popping up all over my social media feed, and with…read more200,000 tulips in bloom, I knew I had to make it happen. My spring adventure schedule was packed, so I didn't make it out until the very last day--but I was determined to catch those blooms before they were gone! I purchased my ticket ahead of time through their website, which was quick, easy, and made me feel totally prepared for my first visit. My adventure buddy and I selected the 12:30pm time slot, and when we arrived right on time, there were a lot of cars--but everything was so well organized that parking was a breeze. It was clearly marked, easy to navigate, and because guests were arriving in staggered time slots, it never felt overwhelming. Before heading out to the fields, we popped into the farm market--and WOW! Super cute, surprisingly large, and packed with everything from baked goods to houseplants and gifts. Prices were reasonable, and it was definitely worth taking a few minutes to browse. Check-in for the tulip field was just as smooth. We walked up to the check-in hut, had our QR codes scanned, grabbed our wristbands, and were on our way within maybe two minutes. For 12:30pm on the final day of the event, I was honestly expecting a line--major kudos to Flinchbaugh's for keeping things moving so efficiently. And then... the tulip field. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Now, it was the last day, and you could tell in the front sections where tulip cutting had been allowed--some blooms were missing, some areas looked a little trampled, and things were definitely a bit worn. But here's where Flinchbaugh's really impressed me: they had clearly marked sections further back as "PHOTOS ONLY - NO CUTTING," and those areas were stunning. Full, vibrant, untouched rows of tulips that made for incredible photos and a much more immersive experience. We spent about an hour wandering through the fields, taking photos, and enjoying all the thoughtfully placed photo prop stations. Another huge win--those props were spaced out perfectly. No long lines, no crowding, no awkward waiting around. You could just move from one spot to the next and actually enjoy the experience without feeling rushed or packed in. I've visited a few flower fields over the past year, and this was by far the most organized and least chaotic. Everything--from parking to check-in to field flow--felt intentional and well thought out. I'm personally more of a "leave the flowers where they grow" kind of person, so I loved being able to simply walk, admire, and take it all in. For me, this was the perfect way to kick off my 2026 flower field adventures--and it set the bar high! At $10 for admission, this was an incredibly reasonable way to spend a few hours soaking up sunshine, enjoying beautiful blooms, and making a little springtime magic on a Saturday afternoon. I'll absolutely be back next year--just maybe a little earlier in the season to catch even more of those blooms at their peak!

It is not an all inclusive ticket. But the worst thing (and the main reason for the two star rating) is that the jumbo pumpkin patch was absolutely INFESTED with Jimsonweed, a toxic and very spiky plant! It is not somewhere to take kids, especially toddlers, because they could easily grab the spiked pods and injure themselves. We will not be coming back here and do not recommend this spot at all, especially if you have small children. Hopefully, for their sake, they are able to get rid of the weeds next year.

I legitimately could have spent a long time looking at all the cute things in here, plus Pickles the tort and Kiwi the chameleon. I got 3 new plants that I should be able to keep alive, thanks to Ashley's advice and guidance. I got a permanent anklet, perfect for the summer, and Hanna was SO sweet to tighten a permanent bracelet I got from a different popup shop that was way too loose on me. I plan to return for a hair clip, shower steamer, cutie pots for my new plants, and a plant coloring book I had my eye on. There are also perfumes, lip oils, and so much more...
