I've come here a couple times now for their free puppy playtime sessions on Saturdays, which is available for puppies (with up-to-date vaccinations) up to 6 months of age. Unfortunately our puppy was advised not to get her rabies vaccination until 16 weeks of age, so we really could only attend puppy playtime for a couple months max before we age out. I wish they made it available for a bit older, but I understand that certain breeds may be too large for the play area beyond 6 months. The trainer, Ilema, was very friendly and gave great feedback throughout the session. She kept an eye on the dogs and separated them when needed. The first time when there were only 2 dogs (mine and another small pup), she noticed my dog was initially very scared and eased her with treats, which eventually made her more comfortable to play. Definitely recommend this for anyone with a puppy that's looking to socialize. The one thing I wished was that the area was a bit bigger and/or there was cordoned off areas for different size/temperament of dogs, but that would likely require a bit more space to do so. Moreso feedback for larger Petco corporation than the individual stores as I'm sure they're all held to a certain standard. read more

I am a die hard fan of Dog Supplies Outlet stores and they have been my first choice to shop at for pet supplies. There are times I've discovered when Dog Supplies Outlet unfortunately doesn't carry a specific product that requires me to branch outward to a big box store. Petco has usually been reliable in such cases. Our family visited this Petco location for the first time recently and was very impressed. This is the nicest Petco we've been to (and we've been to a fair amount across the nation in our travels). The store layout was well organized, well stocked, and clean. The staff members were friendly and genuinely ready to help if we needed any assistance. Even more, this Petco carries the largest amount of Just Food For Dogs products I've ever seen in a Petco. My mother has been bringing our family dog to Ashley T for years so I wanted to give her a try- I am soon happy I made the switch! She has been absolutely phenomenal! Vetco - Gross Negligence, Nearly Killed My Dog! DO NOT take your pet here! During a routine tooth extraction, the vet did extensive damage to my dog's temporomandibular joint (TMJ). The vet misdiagnosed her and pumped her full of unnecessary medication for MONTHS, despite my repeated concerns that the pain was stemming from her jaw. She deteriorated rapidly, stopped eating, and lost a ton of weight. Multiple visits, I spent hundreds, & I was gaslit repeatedly. The vet even suggested putting her down! As soon as I stopped giving her the unnecessary medications, she began to eat! And finally, an animal chiropractor discovered the jaw dislocation and fixed it. My poor dog suffered needlessly for two months because of their negligence/incompetence. I'm exploring legal action and filing a complaint with the state board. Petco groomers (who do a barely adequate job, on their best day) refused to take my dog because he'd had a regularly-scheduled frequently-prescribed arthritis shot that morning. (Yes, it's my own damn fault for admitting it). The excuse I was given was that he might "have an allergic reaction", which I would understand if it was his first time with said shot, but alas it was not. All I had to do was walk into the Vetco station where they gave me a card to get what I needed in the store. They had everything I needed in stock and at reasonable prices. First, and most importantly, the grooming staff - and Rusty's favorite groomer , Ashley, deserve 5 stars and more. They are always friendly and do a good job. @PetCo - If you are going to have grooming appointments as early as 6:45am, then you should make sure that you have staff available to check people out when the grooming is done. Today's grooming was done at 7:45am and I was told it would be 15 minutes before someone would be there to check me out. I wandered around the store for 15 minutes and at 8am, the GM(?) showed up and told the groomer it would be another 20 minutes. I said to have them call me and I'd pay over the phone and left. I shouldn't have to wait 30+ minutes to check out, or you shouldn't take early appointments. O stars for the GM. read more

I went in to get some things. I noticed that there was kitten up for adoption and it looked terribly sick. it was sleeping in the litter box and had drainage from the eyes and nose. I texted the adoption lady whose number was on the cage and let her know. She said she'd be picking up the cat immediately that day. I offered to help pay for the expenses or even adopt the cat but she said she had the resources. i come back a few days later and now all three kittens are sick. She never came to pick it up or did anything for them. The employees have told me they have contacted the adoption person about it previously as well. I paid for a fecal test for my cat back in February, I never turned it in after my cat started feeling better and I was denied a refund.

I made an appointment for bath and haircut, i go to pick up my baby and they only gave him a bath. Was told to come back next day for a free cut because of the mistake. Brought him back the next day only to be told that i had to pay anyways. Manager says the reason i had to pay because they did the cut anyways, it's because I DIDN'T drop off my dog PERSONALLY. Which i notified them ahead of time, that i will have someone else drop him off because i had to work. Manager was very cocky saying he's been doing this for a very long time. So yeah i would not recommend this location. The groomers are nice and everyone else. But manager was not. read more

Terrible all around Walked in the front door and there were 4 people standing in the main entrance way blocking the isle, 3 were in Petco shirts. JUst standing there talking, at first I thought they were some sort of meet and greet crew etc but they didn't even acknowledge me I had to walk around one of the standing bins to get into the main part of the store. 3 seconds later as I am walking towards the back a woman in a Petco shirt comes charging at me rapidly and aggressively. She stopped literally an inch from my face practically nose to nose. She just looks and me and doesn't say anything. So I say "what???" She does some hand gesture on her chest similar to the "Im sorry" sign in american sign language but not quite the right sign. She continued to stand there in my personal space and not a healthy distance (her paper mask is not a green light to stand an inch from my face), I am thinking she might be deaf at this point as she's not saying anything. I keep looking at her she finally says "Fix your top" I said "What?" she repeats "Fix your top " I look down and 3/4 of an inch of my bathing suit that is under is showing through. Not my skin or bare parts just a bathing suit. I can guarantee that people have walked into that store with nothing but bathing suits on in the 114 degree weather. Her actions were invasive and unnecessary, almost if she were looking for an excuse to have an interaction with me. When I finally got around her I got to the Just Food for Dogs freezer. There was a patron there looking confused she told me she had been looking for an employee to ask questions about the food but couldn't find anyone. Well they were all just standing around up front so no wonder why she couldn't find anyone. I answered her questions and she ended up buying some. I went to grab a package for my pup and saw they all had freezer burn. Every package in the freezer did. I went through them and found the one with the least freezer burn and went to purchase it. The cashier was kind and efficient, the only nice aspect of my experience there. When i got home and opened the package it had a foul odor. I will be returning to another facility as I do not want another encounter at that location. I am starting to feel sluggish, if I come down with covid in the next few days from that employee getting in my face then corporate office will be hearing from me. read more

... As someone who owns a business, I am reticent regarding giving a bad review. Unfortunately, I have to give this Petco a bad review. I walked into Petco, which is not my normal place to buy frozen fish food, and could not find the freezer. There was a young gentleman in the aisle, whose age ranged between 25-35, and he asked me if I needed help. I told him they changed things around and I couldn't find the frozen fish food. He told me that he 'opened the store and has worked there for 10 years' and 'nothing has changed'. Then he proceeded to bring me to the right of the fish tanks. When I told him "The freezer was not here 5-6 years ago and used to be by the empty fish tanks for sale", he then admitted they moved it 4 years ago. I asked him why he was arguing with me and telling me that we he did not change anything when they they actually did move the freezer. At that point, a young client (who was the employees age) started getting in my business and calling me names. I left and as I was leaving an older female employee (my age) asked me if everything was OK. When I started to explain the interaction between myself and the young male employee, he approached us and told me to leave and kept walking into our area, forcing us to separate. He continued to walk to the front, then hid in the vet area. It was a terrible experience. I don't understand why he had an inflated ego re: opening Petco 10 years ago and arguing with a customer regarding the location of a fish food freezer. It turns out I was correct. I just don't get it! Then to top it off, he was semi-aggressive in his behavior not letting me tell the female employee what transpired and using his body to break up our conversation. GM of Petco..., feel free to watch the cameras re: the interaction around 1-1:30 pm on 7/9. The cashier, who stated she was the manager, was super nice and apologetic. As a business owner, the male employee should have recognized his mistake re: the freezer did change location vs being egotistical & adamant about opening & working at Petco x 10 years, etc.. To top it off, he was an aggressor via body language using his body to break up myself and the female employee re: what happened... My business (gym) has a 4.9 rating on Google and 4.8 on Yelp for the past 9 years. You guys have a 4.0 rating. After what happened today, I am not surprised and the ratings speak volumes about your interactions at Petco. Just checked their reviews over the past 6-7 months...yikes!!! read more

Ive been taking my dog to PetCo for grooming four years now. Just recently moved to Las Vegas and thought Id give this location a try. I brought along my dogs shampoo because he has sensitive skin and asked them to use it on him. I also gave them specific details about his haircut. Simple. When I came to pick him up I noticed clipper marks on the wide parts of his boody, around the sides, underneath and back. Not smooth at all. They also didn't trim his tail which I did later when I got home. -1star They forgot to give me back his shampoo. I left the store then came back and asked for it. Im pretty sure they didn't bother to use it. -1 star They told me his shampoo was expired but, there is no expiration date on the bottle. I thought I was crazy so I asked someone else to read the bottle. They couldn't find any expiration date either. On the bill I was charged for a "long" haircut. My pets hair is as long as the width of a finger. Not very long at all. Just a regular clipper cut. So the price was about 15$ more than what I usually pay at PetCo.-1star Also, nothing I mentioned about my dog was written down. At the other PetCo I used to go to they had a piece of paper to write down information about the haircut so that when ever I brought him back they could refer to their own notes and they wouldn't have to hear me tell them over and over how to cut his hair. At this location the groomer just stared off into space while I talked and nodded her head up and down. The place seems clean and I got my pet back faster than expected. +2stars Maybe they should take there time and do a better job. I would have been happy to pick him up an hour later with a proper trim and the right shampoo used. read more

Happy to give one star for their app and appointment confirmation texting, etc. Zero stars for the 3 times we brought or attempted to bring in our rescued furry family members for grooming. We should have learned our lesson the first time, as management looks for any excuse to turn away paying customers. Your dog is tired? They refuse to groom. Your pup has an eye twitch? Take him somewhere else. There's a scratch on your pet's nose? You get the idea, and these are not exaggerations. I am growing concerned with the quality of life in the fish section. This is my go-to location and normally everything is great, however on the visit this weekend things was not so great. I saw several dead fish, fish with ich, very dirty tanks, not much water circulation, and the holding tank for aquatic plants is about to fall apart. Manola is the best dog trainer. I highly recommend her. When I got my puppy I sought out a trainer and almost paid a lot of money to some other trainers. When I met Manola she got my hyper unruly dog to sit within 2 mins of meeting her .. I was very impressed. She really knowledgeable. I have come to Petco on and off, but overall I have used Veto, Grooming, and picked up some items for my dogs from here at this specific location. Needless to say the store isn't to too big, but easy to find items that you are looking for, for both cats, dogs, fish, birds, and some reptiles. They do have a wide variety of items and 100% decent customer service if you unable to find something your looking for or needing and or even an isle. The grooming was ok, I took my Rottweiler here a few times, but decided to not anymore, because I'd rather do things on my own. Nothing they personally did to me or my dogs, just me wanting to learn more and do things more on my own. They too have fair prices and decent services I'd suggest. The veto Total Care is pretty good, not perfect, but good no one is perfect these days. I met with a few Doctors who looked at my two dogs which one is a Rotty and the other a Yorkie. The Rotty has this mean and I mean mean allergy which no one by any means can figure out. Even when giving her anti-itch creams, medicated shampoo's, and even swapping out her diet with either chicken and rice fed meals and or even a different bag of food she breaks out in a bad itch and loses hair like a dog with raged mange. It's costly having one of these types of dogs with a serious allergy that no one can pin point and with the fact that I do not take her out for runs or to parks, but mainly home just boggles me and almost everyone. Nothing seems to work for her and sad part is the allergy attacks her, so bad that her one eye shuts and everyone thinks she has an eye issue and then later she does get an eye issue due to her eye constantly closing. The staff are pleasant and very down to earth. My dog goes crazy for Andy and cries when she sees her which I never seen before, but my dog has a good sense of people. Both Doctors are amazing as well I don't mind seeing either or at all whoever is available first. Both Doctors don't try to upsell you on pointless services or medications unless they really need it which I find rare. I have been to several animal Hospitals in the past and had the unfortunate experience of being told I needed 5 different eye drops, 4 different medications, and etc. Truth is, this staff here don't mind if your bluntly honest with them when it comes down to services and prices, that's why I don't mind coming here. My only gripe really isn't, so much with them, but Hill's Science Diet, see the Doctor made a highly recommended choice of Derm Dog Food, but for a small bag is close to 60 bucks and my dog is a little fat girl lol and it would run me for 2 or even 3 months worth 200 to 300. Best part is being told how the food is made and I learned something new from the Doctors here who advised me that a good example would be is when a Company that makes dog food uses one bag of say salmon and then they finish and then begin making say boar or chicken and rice, but the last ingredient is still in the system or flavor, so that's how sometimes dogs get food allergies. read more

Note* I ended up not using their services. The main reason is that my dog had seen a Vet about 6 months ago and we were told her teeth were fine, but that a basic cleaning was needed. So, I told this to Coral (Manager) and asked if she could give me any idea of what the associated costs would be to clean her teeth. I felt like I was buying a used car. She wouldn't give any idea of the costs involved and said I needed to pay a $57 fee to "establish client relations", then the Doctor would do a physical exam grading the teeth and discussing the next steps with us. Then we get an estimate. Here's the thing, they've see thousands of dogs and can't give me an ANY idea what the costs are unless I pay them $57. If you're not a saavy consumer, which it seems most pet owners aren't, then allowing these businesses to do this only perpetuates the same extortionist tactics. DO NOT use any business that wont give you any idea of te costs involved in your pet's care. Pros: The staff are friendly and professional Cons: They wont give you any idea of the costs involved. No estimate at all. Not a minmum-maximum idea of how much they charge. read more

This Petco is now open. I came here a few hours after they opened and I was greeted by a sales associate, Matt, who asked if I needed help. I was there to get a new cat scratching post to replace the one my little girl has pretty well destroyed and Petco has the kind she likes. Matt walked me to the area and then left me to make my choice. I checked out the cat food while there and I got some for the queen of our house. At checkout, Matt continued his pleasant, helpful manner and I was out the door in no time at all. There were only a few customers because the location is so new. Customer service was great! Perhaps it won't be able to be this personal when they're busier, but they wowed me! Grand opening is this Saturday and Sunday, 9/6 and 9/7. I'm glad they're in the neighborhood. Ok I feel like I need to update this review...maaaaaaybe I was little quick to judge after they gave me back a giant fluff ball of a dog. A couple days later and after giving him a bath at home, his hair looks much more normal. I understand why they brushed him out (to make sure he doesn't get matting), but I DO think that they should have spent time with me helping me understand what they were going to do, and that they should have been very specific about what they were going to cut. It was his first grooming appointment ever and I wasn't given any expectations. Maybe the guy at the front was having a rough day, I don't know - but better communication would have made this experience much better.
