I have a Siberian husky that used to stay at pups paradise on an occasional Sunday. Every time he was there they refused to feed him food I sent with him. The last time he was there he was overwhelmed and was trying to get out according to the staff. My dog normally goes to Rover Come Over on week days and I am aware that my husky gets overwhelmed with other dogs sometime, so the staff at rover just separate him from the other dogs for about an hour and he's fine for the rest of the day. At pups paradise they told me he has too many behavioral issues and needs to be put on medication or they can't take him. I'm not putting my dog on meds because they don't want to deal with him. Sounds like they throw the dogs in and don't care about them at all. read more

If you are looking for a great groomer, I would strongly recommend Sara from Pups Paradise! We had changed our groomer a couple of times over the past years because our Mini Australian Shepherd is very sensitive to being groomed and being left behind. She takes the time to talk with our dog, reassure her (and us) and even gives her lavender massages, which relaxes her enough to settle down. Sara is compassionate, knowledgeable and very professional with her grooming techniques. Most importantly (to me, anyway), she loves dogs and she takes her time to make the dog (and owner) feel comfortable and not traumatized when getting groomed. She goes "above and beyond" AND her communication with the owner is fantastic. She texts updates and even sends before and after pictures and trouble areas if there are any. I've only been to this daycare once, but they get my business from now on. I don't utilize daycare often because I feel like my dog doesn't enjoy it, so it's strictly a "I am way too sick to work out with you today bud" kind of deal. It's only a 2 or 3 times a year situation for us. This is the third daycare I've been to, and it was the first one that was actually HONEST with me. I've watched my dog at daycare on the webcams most places have, he is always nervous and avoids the other dogs, and barks at the attendants the entire time trying to be removed; Every other daycare says "He did great, he loves everyone, he played and have fun!" This daycare is the only one that actually had the courage to say "He didn't enjoy it here, he was anxious and miserable, daycare really wasn't for him. He's more than welcomed to come back, we're happy to have him, but it isn't the best option for HIM." If you want a daycare who cares more about your dog than their business, and who will always be honest with you about your dogs behavior even if it's something you may not want to hear, visit these guys. Our doxie, Earnie, loves Pup's Paradise! Little Man actually gets excited when we pull up to the building instead of scared like he does with the vet or other places in general. (He's part scaredy cat.) We are to the point where we are using their doggie daycare services at least once a week for a full day -- between $22 and $24. We also started using their groomer because a grooming appointment includes daycare that day, all for around $30 -- score! The staff is so kind and professional, their prices are beyond reasonable, and as a doggy momma it makes me happy to check their Pup Cams and see him playing happily or being snuggled by a worker. We even trusted them to watch Earnie overnight when we went away for an anniversary weekend and he came home happy, healthy and worn out! We can't ask for much more than that! read more

Used to be my favorite place to get my dog groomed by Ashley. Last time I took him, I asked for a lion cut for a Pomeranian, she has done this for us about 4 times now. When I picked him up, it looked as if only half of my dog was groomed. We took him back, asking her to TRIM his front a little bit so it would last longer. Somehow she managed to entirely butcher his hair, completely shaving it to about an inch. It looks ridiculous and a complete waste of money. It's as if she never was the one who groomed him to begin with. Very unhappy with them and their lack of communication as well as the fact that no money was refunded or an apology was given for ruining my dogs hair. We signed up and made an appointment for my puppy to have play time and when we arrived they rudely turned me and my dog away. They said my dog was not well behaved and were completely rude and I even cried after I left. My dog and I will never be going back. read more

I got the opportunity to take a last-minute trip up to Northern Michigan so I called Pups Paradise to see if I could board my Bulldog. They had room for Thurston Howl IV and he was so excited to go. This was his first time away from home. He's had play dates there but never overnight. I was gone for 4 days and I got a call from one of the staff saying that he didn't eat much of his meal and they were concerned. She said the thought it was just separation anxiety and stress so I told her to update me later in the day. She called back a couple of hours later to tell me he started to bleed which can be common. She suggested they take him to the after-hours MedVet so I agreed. I came home from my trip a day early and went straight to MedVet to pick up my boy. The staff was correct. He was just a little stressed and had Colitis. I'm so happy the staff had to foresight to keep a close eye on Thurston. They even sat with him in his cage and hand fed him to get him to eat. The vet prescribed several meds and he is back to his normal playful, Bossy self today. Thank you to the staff at Pups Paradise for catching his lethargic behavior and staying on top of it. Was disappointed after using Pups Paradise for boarding our dog during a recent vacation. When we picked him up we immediately noticed he had a terrible cough. After an expensive trip to the vet and two medicines later, he was diagnosed with Kennel Cough. There was no way the staff could not have heard and seen this. When we called to alert them for other dog owners they said they never knew because "it was such a busy week". I hope they alerted other owners, but it didn't sound too positive. Our pup broke her toe while at this daycare for three hours, so be aware that these kinds of injuries can happen. We've spent over $800 on vet bills and the owner of Pups Paradise has refused to help us financially and he says he has no idea how our dog's toe was broken. Recently took one of our Boston Terriers to pup's to burn some energy while his sister recooped from eye surgery. He seemed to be a little nervous at first and when we came and got him after 6 hours he was laying in the corner of the little dog play area. He is usually very social so I'm hoping it was just first-time jitters. Staff seemed nice but unorganized when we first showed up. Wrote down info on post-its? They did not do a good job taking our dog's info either. It all worked out in the end, but seems they need more experienced people working the front desk. The best part were their rates- $2.50 an hour! Well worth the money, I just hope our dog will warm up to the place quicker next time. read more

In my opinion, the Perrysburg location is poorly managed. The employees do a good job with the limited amount of training they receive from each other, obviously because the manager is rarely there..and is never there on weekends. Also, because of the lack of management's presence, the manager relies on the word of others, instead of observing himself, as to what work is actually being done and who is or isn't doing it. I really like the staff, but the place is falling apart and filthy. There have clearly been some very scared dogs in the kennels because most (if not all) of the rooms have holes in the walls from dogs trying to dig out. The outside area smells awful and must not be cleaned very often. I couldn't believe how bad the place looked when I took a tour! The fences were absolutely disgusting filthy, there were pieces of plastic broken from all the fences, the rooms didn't look clean, and it smelled terrible. The place is so unorganized and I agree with D.S- they were taking notes on post-its when I was there too. When we picked up our dog from boarding, he was dirty, missing his toys, and had way too many pills left over for him to have gotten them all. The guy behind the counter wasn't even sure if my dog had gotten his medicine in the morning or not! The web cams were a nice touch but now all I see are dogs laying down and panting because it's 90 outside. I also often see employees leaving the dogs alone for extended amounts of time, a few staff members appear to be VERY rough with the dogs, and the dogs are frequently chewing in the fences or the picnic table when I watch cams, while no one does anything. Well, it's already too hot during the day for my dog to be outside, let alone in a giant warehouse with fifty other dogs panting. I had to take him to the vet for heat exhaustion and dehydration. Karnik might have cages, but at least they're professional and polished. Their daycare is worth the extra few dollars to make sure my dog is well taken care of. The $20 I save from not bringing my dog can go towards my air conditioning and toys to keep my boy entertained at home. The three words to best describe this place are UNDERSTAFFED, OVERCROWDED, and UNORGANIZED. I won't be bringing my dog back and I'll let everyone know to stay away! read more

I should have read the Google reviews or vetted the place before I took my dog there. It looked nice enough from the front, but the back wasn't impressive and the staff didn't seem very knowledgeable, and was a bit rude and condescending about my dog. I shrugged it off and I shouldn't have. My dog came home tired and the price was reasonable so I ignored the red flags. After a few months of doing daycare, I still wasn't fond of the place, but my husband said our pup was better acting in the evening after daycare. After a recent trip to the vet to see why he had diarrhea and wasn't eating, the vet told me my dog had warts. I was flabbergasted! WARTS! I asked where he could have gotten them, and if they were contagious. She asked me if he spent time around any other dogs and I told her that I take him to Pups Paradise a few times a month. She and the vet tech immediately said something along the lines of ''oh yeah, we see a lot of dogs from there with warts or other issues, it's a problem." She also told me to watch our other (senior) dog who doesn't do daycare, to make sure she doesn't develop warts as well. So far she seems to not have it, but if I hadn't paid for the surgery to have his warts removed, he would still have "active warts" which he could transfer to her, pretty easily it sounds. I'm upset I didn't trust my gut when I first walked in, and that I didn't do any research before sending my guy off to stay at some filthy daycare. I'll never set foot in that building again. read more
