Nasty pupusas, old and weathered ingredients

Possibly the WORST Salvadorean food I've ever experienced. Expensive and nasty. The pupusas are mainly dough, and very little stuffing. The most horrible thing is the horchata. It tasted nothing like horchata, but some sewer water with tons of sugar! Utterly disgusting!! I ordered a couple of cheese and loroco pupusas. The cheese is NOT Salvadorean, in fact it had some brownish color. The loroco was NOT fresh, it also had some brownish color. The curtido had a fart smell to it, which is proof they use fresh ingredients. The to-go plate also had each pupusa wrapped in some plastic-paper thing in which it melted into the food. Unacceptable. Wish I could give them negative 5 stars. Nunca he probado algo tan horible. Tenia sabor a aguas negras con demasiada azucar. Todo lo venden caro y la calidad y cantidad no vale la pena. Simplemente inaceptable. Quisiera darles 5 estrellas negativas.

I've been coming to this business faithfully for 2 years already and they are the only pupusas I honestly will buy here in the valley.

Food comes out quickly, which makes the whole experience even better. There isn't a single thing I've ordered here that I didn't love. My husband and I always go for the steak pupusa, a revuelta pupusa, and a chicharrón con queso pupusa. If you're looking for melt-in-your-mouth, flavorful pupusas, this is your spot. They also offer deals on certain days, which is a nice bonus. Allison and Maritza provide exceptional service and truly make you feel taken care of. They give prima vibes and I'm here for it! The ambiance feels like you're at your tía's house, music playing, lively energy, and just the perfect vibe for enjoying amazing food. They've got soccer on one TV and something else on another.

It was right next door to my appointment and I thought I'd give it a try while waiting for my mom to finish up with her pedicure. They are $3.50 per tamale and it took approximately 10 minutes for my order of two to come out. I think they were steaming them. The restaurant was quite large and there was only one other customer there at about 4 PM on a Thursday. They had the ARV playing on the TVs and have bar seating. The service was friendly. Tamale is 8.5/10: it's packed with a lot of really fun, filling items, like a green bean, potato, olive, and hominy with white meat chicken. The chicken is a little bit dry. But the tamale is very flavorful!

Traditional Salvadorean Cuisine in the SFV!…read more Our first time trying Salvadorean food at this family owned restaurant in Reseda. Carlos gave us some great recommendations so we ended up trying pupusas for the first time. It's made with a homemade corn dough. It's thicker than a regular corn tortilla and stuffed with ground pork and cheese. They have a variety of fillings. You can add salsa roja, a flavorful tomato-based sauce or habanero sauce. Served with Curtido, a tangy, fermented cabbage slaw. So crispy, cheesy and filling. It came burning hot - I could barely hold it. But, I would definitely order this again! We tried Desayuno Típico, a traditional Salvadoran breakfast, which came with casamiento (beans and rice mixed together), Salvadorean style chorizo, fried plantains, 2 eggs, avocado, fresh cheese and Salvadorean style sour cream and homemade corn tortillas.
