This is a tough review. The food is good but a few things bothered me. The tortillas with my taco were kinda stiff and chewy. So not fresh or warmed enough. The guac was okay but served on a pile of lettuce? It looks like more but isn't. And lettuce? My pupusa had good flavor but seemed a little under cooked or raw. Never been disappointed with any of their items. I don't have a photo of their pollo a la plancha but it is delicious. The service is amazing as the two women work diligently throughout their shifts. The restaurant may look small on the outside but it is quite spacious and has great music playing. They have a small American menu, and my niece loves their chicken nuggets. And those are pretty tasty as well. read more

This place offers all the delicious flavors of El Salvador, in one bright, clean location. The shop is in a convenient location with great parking, too. I ordered pupusas, plantains, and tamarind juice. The sides on the plantains were fabulous--up until now, I had always had sour cream on the side but not refried beans. Both are so good! I also had a pupusa revuelta plus a veggie pupusa, and I am looking forward trying more things from the menu next time I'm in the area. The inside of the restaurant is so bright and beautiful. Kudos to whoever picked out the bright coral wall color and the colorful paintings. It was a pleasure to wander around and look at details of the artwork. read more

Curtido is terrible but Pupusas are great...really wish they would change how they make it...truly nasty stuff been to over ten Pupusas restaurants and the way they season it is not correct. They have what it takes fo a good regular delivery spot. I love that I can get Latin cravings but my American grub too. I've ordered them regularly in the last couple of months. They didnt getbit right everytime but when I called them out on the issue they were responsive. No I didnt get anything for free, I got better service the next time and it has become consistent and that's more then what one can ask for from a regular spot. Tips: -Ask for the pupusas to be cooked longer if you like them toasted -I don't recommend the rice pupusas -Fajitas are very filling and great portions -Fries are shoestring -Yuca con chicharron a recommend for picky eaters -The platanos fritos are very very greasy, I dont recommend -The Horchata and Atol de Elote are delicious -Corn Tamales are greath -Platanos Rellenos (Empanadas Salvadoreño) were dope -Nuegados are very very sweet -Sope de Carne(Beef) are a reccomend for App or 3 as a meal Definitely will keep ordering. read more

I ordered from here yesterday and while everything had a great flavor, I couldn't get away from the corn tortillas. I like flour and didn't notice that tidbit of info when I was ordering. I had a cheese pupusa which was very delicious! I also ordered Tacos Salvadorenos de Carne. I ended up dumping everything out of the corn tortillas and eating that with the pupusa. I'm sure pupusas have corn in them as well but I just can't do corn tortillas like a soft taco. Because the flavor of everything was so good yesterday, I decided to order from there again today. Today I ordered Tacos al Carbon de Pollo on flour tortillas . No beans with extra rice. THIS. THIS IS AMAZING!! I've done delivery both days and to be honest, it's the only reason I decided to try this place. I'm stuck at work, not able to leave. Move over Doña Azucena consider yourself dethrone. Finally something decent in Manassas when in comes down to Pupusas. I enjoyed dinner with the kids here. The waiter was very kind. Just like the Herndon location, this Pupusas Express was awesome! I had El Tipico Express, which came with a little bit of everything I wanted. I got it with a pupusa de frijol, a chicken tamal, and it came with plantains, beans, sour cream, and the hot sauce + pickled cabbage that pupusas normally come with. I loooooved the pupusa with the sauce and cabbage, the plantains were also fantastic. The chicken tamal was not as impressive but still pretty good. When I walked noticed the cashier was all the way in the back but was immediately greeted by the waitress. Looked clean and whatever they were cooking smelled delicious. I ordered a small sopa de res and 2 pupusas with pork in it. Pupusas we're pretty good alittle greasy but that's usually how they're made so I had no problem with it. At first we shied away from this place because we thought how good can delivery pupusas be? Turns out we were way off base. The delivery is always hot and fresh even when they say it will take an hour. There can sometimes be a long wait for delivery so make sure you ask when you place the order. For us, the long wait turned out to be a great thing. One day, instead of waiting we decided we would go pick it up. That is when we discovered the perfect little Salvadorian restaurant for dining in. There are usually a few tables already filled but we have never had to wait for a seat. I absolutely love their Pupusa Loca. It is stuffed with fillings and stays moist with the perfect amount of juiciness and grease. It is hard to top their yucca with chicharron though. The pork is the perfect size to stay juicy after being fried and the curtido with tomato sauce on top of the yucca and pork is the crowning glory. The corn tamales are excellent and my wife has enjoyed the carne asada and always gets empanadas de platano with a creamy custard filling. My mouth is watering thinking about their food. I cannot wait to go back, maybe tonight for dinner. read more

I have grown up eating Salvadorean food, and really wanted pupusas. I am not around that side of the family much anymore, that used to cook pupusas from scratch and go out to all of the best restaurants in the area when they didn't feel like cooking. I tried to go to Dona Azucena today because I love their food, and they were closed despite advertising they were open on a large banner. Several other cars pulled up only to be disappointed as well. I checked everywhere else in the area that served pupusas on Yelp and found this place. The pupusas by far were not great. There was basically no filling, and they were kind of dry and bland. I tried loroco, ayote, loca, and queso. The curtido was the worst that I've ever tasted anywhere in my whole life. The rice was extremely bland, basically plain white rice with a few frozen vegetables in it. My daughter had the steak platter, it was really big and she really enjoyed it. I don't eat steak, so the 2 stars are for her. I definitely would not return for pupusas and that's what they are known for. The reviewer who said this was one of the best restaurants in the world, must have a family member that owns this place. read more
