So if you have had Salvadorian food before you will love this place!! Please pay no mind to the 1 star review as that does not properly reflect the delicious food offered at this place! It's a small restaurant but big flavor. Much variety for pupusa flavors and the amazing hot sauce and recaito (cole slaw) for them. You have vegetarian and meat options and many other dishes! Tacos are served in a traditional and simple way, like street tacos and much like I do at home. The homemade juices are so good also! There is so much to choose from on the menu.... oh and the chips and guac..... superb!!!!! If you are looking for a fancy restaurant or taco bell style tacos, keep moving. This place serves traditional Salvadorian food in a traditional style.... I walked away with a full belly and a smile on my face! I hope more people visit and leave better reviews because they definitely deserve way more than 1 star! read more

This was a great find in Cleveland. My son and I wanted to try true El Salvadorian food and we found it. Great friendly service and quick. We ordered the pupils one pork and one cheese and it was delicious . We also order 3 corn tamales and they did not disappoint . We will come back My son and I give it two thumbs up read more

What a delightful meal! I enjoyed some wonderful chips and guacamole (the chips were hot!) and then ate some pupusas. I had seen the reviews about their cabbage - not usually a fan of cabbage, but the reviews all sounded good, so I gave them a try - and so glad I did! Forget the 1-star review. Dude probably thinks Fazoli's is fine Italian dining. This is a wonderful establishment with flavorful food. The Tortilla de Harina is outrageously good. We had yucca with chicharrones the were hearty and filling. The guacamole is made fresh. Do yourselves a favor and go. No, it is not Mexican. It's Salvadoran. Let me start out by saying I love Mexican and this isn't Mexican, I knew that going in but I wasn't really sure what to expect. We met friends that had been there on 1 previous occasion and were telling us about it It was basically the way they described it. Sadly the way they described it was bland tasting food but it had a selection of sauces to add to the meal to get more flavor. I ordered two steak tacos and a coke (the coke was a can coke that was $2.50). I didn't care about that but the only toppings for the tacos were onions that were cooked with the steak and a little garnish. My wife ordered the cheese pupsas and my friends ordered other varieties of pupusas as well The best way I can describe the pupusas is it looked like mini pancakes...but with grease. They also supplied a small tub of hot slaw for everyone at the table to share. I skipped that. There were three different sauces. A red sauce that was basically like a tomato paste, a green sauce that had a slight twang to it and a hot sauce. I put about 3-4 drops of the hot sauce in my tacos and it was more than enough. It was almost too hot of a sauce for my liking but it was the only way I could really get any flavor out of my food. I'll try anything once but unfortunately there really wasn't anything that made me of my wife want to return. I would say it was because we didn't like this style of food but to be honest none of it really had any taste. They did have a "mango" drink that was ok...it was very sweet and would have been good as a mixed drink but not something you wanted to try and use to choke down bland greasy food with. Anyway, that's as honest as I can be about my experience there. On the bright side for two tacos, two pupusas and two drinks it was under $20 so if you do try it at least you won't be out a lot of money if you don't like it. read more

Pupuseria Marelyn is a welcome addition to the Cleveland / Ocoee area dining options. The Guatemalan tamales are delicious, and quite different from Mexican style. The namesake pupusas are tasty and they have a great variety of flavors. My biggest issue is because the food is so good and so cheap, we always order too much and stuff our faces. Not a bad problem to have. It's very much a family-run affair, and we love supporting them whenever we can. read more
