Reservations are highly recommended. We lucked out when we arrived and sat at the bar area. Pur Noire is the first black-owned winery and tasting room in Houston. Our enthusiastic sommelier was very knowledgeable about the wines he presented us. I loved hearing about the history of the business and its owners. We were able to sample a flight of wine. We sampled their premium wines crafted from Napa Valley. Pur Euphoria was my favorite. I was pleased to find out that you can order their wines online to be delivered since we were visiting Houston. I absolutely recommend this establishment. It is modern, the hospitality is top tier, the decor is eye catching and the wine is great.

We really enjoyed our wine tasting here. This is the first time where I've went to a wine tasting. And they actually slowed it down, explain the wines axes about um, subtle tones within the wine, whether it was fruit based or um, smoky, or just basically asks in us to use all five senses in the way and to get the full experience of the wine itself. Each pour is about one ounce, and they start from three pores until six pores, I believe. I'm normally a very sweet wine girly, but this definitely had me step out.The box and be open minded and try something different. And I enjoyed it, and I had a nice buzz afterward, so it was a win win! The place is really cute and intimate definitely recommend a visit!

I can keep coming here just for their noire night cap port style wine! It is really good! I love the ambience and decor. They always playing good music. The staff are awesome! What I would like to see more of is in the food selections. They have very slim options. The charcuterie board is good, but that's it. You used to be able to order off a lite bites menu from common bond and get it delivered there, but now that common bond has closed that location, there are no options. So do not come hungry.

A group of were having a Galentine's weekend celebration. This was our first stop and it set the mood for the rest of the weekend. The staff is very knowledgeable of the wines and pairings. Even if you have a preference for a certain wine, it is a great opportunity to try something you wouldn't normally try. I did purchase a bottle of the Chardonnay. The best part is that this is a Black Owned Business. See you soon!

Came in as part of trivia night event for Harry Potter, got there just in time to order their sparkling brut the celebrer during happy hour. The event was great and the drink excellent, definitely will be back, especially for the event. Service was great and generally ambiance is fairly classy although a bit snug with how many people came.

One of my hobbies is visiting vineyards and wineries so of course I had to visit here for wine tasting. We found street parking across the street. When you walk in, there's a little lounge section on one side tucked away. The black and green interior did not grab me as aesthetically pleasing and it just didn't work in my opinion for a wine tasting room. I didn't get that rustic relaxing vibe, things just seemed out of place. Our server was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable about the wine selection, offering helpful guidance as we navigated the menu. I stuck to my usual whites as I am not a red wine drinker. Surprisingly, I did not leave with a bottle of wine as none of the wines were special and nothing stuck out to me. The wines were not the best I've tasted and my date didn't seem to enjoy them either (this was his first wine tasting experience) so I felt bad because he excitedly made these reservations for me. All in all, I probably won't be back.

Some friends and I went to Pur Noire, the first Black-owned city winery in Houston, for Trivia Night being hosted by Houston Symphony. The ambience is warm, welcoming and well-lit. The music playing in the background was not disruptive to tableside conversation. While my Broadway knowledge was extremely limited, our group of 3 were highly entertained by our Wine Expert host, Suheil. He was engaging and informative, telling us the different notes associated with each wine and having us guess beforehand based on initial taste. We had the Grand Flight which included six tastings. When asked which would be most on-brand for a Harry Potter fan, Suheil recommended the Reserve Merlot (the wine option with the highest ABV) because it'll give you the Gryffindor-like courage (and Buckbeack-like wings), LOL! I love it! We didn't order any food. The overall experience lasted about an hour. Pur Noire also offers a Wine Club membership with discounted bottle prices and access to a small, private area of the urban winery. Suheil also shared that sometimes Sunday Brunch (buffet-style) is held. I look forward to returning for future events, especially after 6pm when street parking is ample and Happy Hour is being held.

Loved!!!! Hubby and I went for a wine tasting and it did not disappoint. You're able to try 6 different wines starting with whites then on to reds. My favorite wine was the Red Zin and the Queen Euphoria. Their port was really good as well! We didn't order any food because we ate before hand, but we did notice some people ordering their charcuterie board. It looked good! The place is downtown so parking is either on the street or there is a parking garage with the entrance on Louisiana St. If you become a member you are able to enjoy discounted bottles of wine. Overall we had a great experience and will be coming back. Tip- If you sign up for emails you'll be able to enjoy a complimentary pour

What a great experience! The variety of wine and creativity behind the naming and brand is extremely impressive. I enjoyed the membership option they had available. The service was genuine and personable. I felt at home. The ambiance was very comforting and welcoming. I plan on hosting a girls night here!

A unique experience. Put Noire is a small, unique winery in downtown Houston. As a new Houston resident, I have a list of local businesses that I want to try. Put Noire made this list because I really enjoy wine and I was happy to support a black owned business. As soon as you step inside, you will see that it's not the "traditional" winery setting. There is bar seating, tables for 2 and also tables to accommodate larger groups. There is also a private area for "members only", They offer several different tasting experiences that you reserve online. The matinée tasting is a good way to try them out for a reduced price. Your tasting experience is guided by a very knowledgeable staff member that gives you background on each wine that you try. The atmosphere is very chill & relaxed and they play great music. I did a solo tasting and never once did I feel out of place. Although most of the wines I sampled were a bit dry for my personal tastes, I still enjoyed sampling outside of my box. I was not familiar with the area so I took an Uber to the location. I'm sure there is street and/or garage parking nearby, but I would definitely confirm that prior to going.

We didn't have any food. We did the wine tasting, which includes six options. The guy who assisted (I hate that I can't remember his name but I believe he was from South Africa) us was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. The ambience is nice, and the room is dimly lit. However, it can't get a bit loud when they have multiple tastings in motion. The wine options were good. We especially like the Pinot Gris.

Pur Noire Urban Wineries was such a relaxing experience. The staff and service was so welcoming. When we sat down we placed our purses on the table a gentleman came around asking if we wanted purse hangers and this added touch unexpected but such perfect timing. The wine tasting was great! We did the Pur Noire Grand flight this provided us with 6 tastings. The staff was well educated and explained each wine with such poise. The saxophone player keep the vibes while walking around and playing covers for all the guest to enjoy. This outing is a perfect for date night, girls night out, or just enjoying some wine to wine down after a long day. I'm glad I had the chance to experience this!

I came to this wine bar for the first time a week or so ago and became a member the same day. I went with a friend for the wine tasting and they have an incredible and unique selection (I loved the Merlot). The staff is incredibly helpful and attentive and just a good time to be around. The wine tasting consists of 6 wines and they also offer charcuterie (for purchase) for snacking during your tasting. They have live music on the weekends which is a great complement to the group tasting that they do at 7pm. My only complaints are they do not sell wine by the glass to non-members. After the tasting, I would have loved to grab a glass of my favorite and they are missing out on quite a bit of money. There is limited parking in the area and the bar in small with limited seating so I would make sure to have a reservation.

When my friend made the reservation, she received an email encouraging customers to visit the tasting room before or after dinner. We showed up an hour early to visit the tasting room, however the host had no idea what we were talking about. Turns out they weren't doing tastings. Luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We initially had a table that was not near a heat lamp, however an employee came over and let us know that we could switch to a table near the heat lamp which was appreciated because it was chilly. Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

"Closing time, you don't have to go home But you can't stay…read morehere." - Semisonic I have lived in the loop for 5 years now, and I'm sad to say that I finally tried Mutiny on their last day. I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.

I have used this company multiple times in the past and had always had a wonderful experience. In fact, I was comfortable enough with my previous experiences that I chose them again when I planned a girls' trip to Fredericksburg a few months ago. The actual wine tour was wonderful, and we had a great time. I had no issues with the service during the trip or immediately afterward. Unfortunately, what happened afterward has completely changed how I feel about using this company in the future. Several weeks after our trip, multiple people from our group began noticing unauthorized charges associated with the company on their credit/debit cards. What initially seemed like it could potentially be an isolated issue quickly became concerning when more people in our group reported experiencing the same thing. One person reported a second unauthorized charge from the company, and another person reported being charged $106. Some members of our group reached out to the company directly before disputing the charges with their banks. The responses we received were concerning and, in my opinion, did not provide enough explanation or reassurance. In one case, the company indicated that the refund had been initiated and said they were blocking potential double charges. However, the communication also suggested that the additional charge may have resulted from the customer accidentally placing another order. That explanation was difficult to reconcile with the fact that multiple people from the same group experienced similar unauthorized charges. Another member of our group was told that the company would refund the charge, but there was initially no clear explanation for why the charge occurred. Because of the uncertainty, some people ultimately felt they had no choice but to dispute the charges directly with their banks. One person even canceled their card because they believed the charge was fraudulent. I personally have not received one of these unauthorized charges, so I want to be very clear that I am not writing this review because I was personally charged or because I had a bad experience during the tour. My concern comes from watching multiple friends deal with unexpected charges after we used this company and seeing how difficult it has been to get a clear explanation or resolution. What is especially disappointing is that I genuinely liked this company before this happened. I had used them successfully before, recommended them to my friends, and trusted them enough to book another experience with them. I therefore feel a responsibility to share what happened so that other customers can make an informed decision. I am not claiming to know exactly how these charges occurred, and I am not interested in unfairly accusing anyone of something I cannot prove. However, the fact that multiple people in our group experienced unauthorized charges, including repeat charges for at least one person, is extremely concerning. The company's response has also not given us the level of clarity or confidence I would expect when customers are reporting potentially fraudulent transactions. I hope the company takes this seriously, investigates what happened, provides a clear explanation to the affected customers, and makes sure this does not happen to anyone else. Until then, unfortunately, I would have a hard time recommending this company to friends or feeling comfortable using them again.
