Reservations are highly recommended. We lucked out when we arrived and sat at the bar area. Pur Noire is the first black-owned winery and tasting room in Houston. Our enthusiastic sommelier was very knowledgeable about the wines he presented us. I loved hearing about the history of the business and its owners. We were able to sample a flight of wine. We sampled their premium wines crafted from Napa Valley. Pur Euphoria was my favorite. I was pleased to find out that you can order their wines online to be delivered since we were visiting Houston. I absolutely recommend this establishment. It is modern, the hospitality is top tier, the decor is eye catching and the wine is great.
We really enjoyed our wine tasting here. This is the first time where I've went to a wine tasting. And they actually slowed it down, explain the wines axes about um, subtle tones within the wine, whether it was fruit based or um, smoky, or just basically asks in us to use all five senses in the way and to get the full experience of the wine itself. Each pour is about one ounce, and they start from three pores until six pores, I believe. I'm normally a very sweet wine girly, but this definitely had me step out.The box and be open minded and try something different.And I enjoyed it, and I had a nice buzz afterward, so it was a win win! The place is really cute and intimate definitely recommend a visit!
I can keep coming here just for their noire night cap port style wine! It is really good! I love the ambience and decor. They always playing good music. The staff are awesome! What I would like to see more of is in the food selections. They have very slim options. The charcuterie board is good, but that's it. You used to be able to order off a lite bites menu from common bond and get it delivered there, but now that common bond has closed that location, there are no options. So do not come hungry.
A group of were having a Galentine's weekend celebration. This was our first stop and it set the mood for the rest of the weekend. The staff is very knowledgeable of the wines and pairings. Even if you have a preference for a certain wine, it is a great opportunity to try something you wouldn't normally try. I did purchase a bottle of the Chardonnay. The best part is that this is a Black Owned Business. See you soon!
Came in as part of trivia night event for Harry Potter, got there just in time to order their sparkling brut the celebrer during happy hour. The event was great and the drink excellent, definitely will be back, especially for the event. Service was great and generally ambiance is fairly classy although a bit snug with how many people came.
One of my hobbies is visiting vineyards and wineries so of course I had to visit here for wine tasting. We found street parking across the street. When you walk in, there's a little lounge section on one side tucked away. The black and green interior did not grab me as aesthetically pleasing and it just didn't work in my opinion for a wine tasting room. I didn't get that rustic relaxing vibe, things just seemed out of place. Our server was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable about the wine selection, offering helpful guidance as we navigated the menu. I stuck to my usual whites as I am not a red wine drinker. Surprisingly, I did not leave with a bottle of wine as none of the wines were special and nothing stuck out to me. The wines were not the best I've tasted and my date didn't seem to enjoy them either (this was his first wine tasting experience) so I felt bad because he excitedly made these reservations for me. All in all, I probably won't be back.
Some friends and I went to Pur Noire, the first Black-owned city winery in Houston, for Trivia Night being hosted by Houston Symphony. The ambience is warm, welcoming and well-lit. The music playing in the background was not disruptive to tableside conversation. While my Broadway knowledge was extremely limited, our group of 3 were highly entertained by our Wine Expert host, Suheil. He was engaging and informative, telling us the different notes associated with each wine and having us guess beforehand based on initial taste. We had the Grand Flight which included six tastings. When asked which would be most on-brand for a Harry Potter fan, Suheil recommended the Reserve Merlot (the wine option with the highest ABV) because it'll give you the Gryffindor-like courage (and Buckbeack-like wings), LOL! I love it! We didn't order any food. The overall experience lasted about an hour. Pur Noire also offers a Wine Club membership with discounted bottle prices and access to a small, private area of the urban winery. Suheil also shared that sometimes Sunday Brunch (buffet-style) is held. I look forward to returning for future events, especially after 6pm when street parking is ample and Happy Hour is being held.

My favorite wine was the Red Zin and the Queen Euphoria. Their port was really good as well! The place is downtown so parking is either on the street or there is a parking garage with the entrance on Louisiana St. If you become a member you are able to enjoy discounted bottles of wine. What a great experience! The variety of wine and creativity behind the naming and brand is extremely impressive. I enjoyed the membership option they had available. The service was genuine and personable. I felt at home. The ambiance was very comforting and welcoming. I plan on hosting a girls night here!
A unique experience. Put Noire is a small, unique winery in downtown Houston. As a new Houston resident, I have a list of local businesses that I want to try. Put Noire made this list because I really enjoy wine and I was happy to support a black owned business. As soon as you step inside, you will see that it's not the "traditional" winery setting. There is bar seating, tables for 2 and also tables to accommodate larger groups. There is also a private area for "members only", They offer several different tasting experiences that you reserve online. The matinée tasting is a good way to try them out for a reduced price. Your tasting experience is guided by a very knowledgeable staff member that gives you background on each wine that you try. The atmosphere is very chill & relaxed and they play great music. I did a solo tasting and never once did I feel out of place. Although most of the wines I sampled were a bit dry for my personal tastes, I still enjoyed sampling outside of my box. I was not familiar with the area so I took an Uber to the location. I'm sure there is street and/or garage parking nearby, but I would definitely confirm that prior to going.

The ambience is nice, and the room is dimly lit. However, it can't get a bit loud when they have multiple tastings in motion. The wine options were good. We especially like the Pinot Gris.
Pur Noire Urban Wineries was such a relaxing experience. The staff and service was so welcoming. When we sat down we placed our purses on the table a gentleman came around asking if we wanted purse hangers and this added touch unexpected but such perfect timing. The wine tasting was great! We did the Pur Noire Grand flight this provided us with 6 tastings. The staff was well educated and explained each wine with such poise. The saxophone player keep the vibes while walking around and playing covers for all the guest to enjoy. This outing is a perfect for date night, girls night out, or just enjoying some wine to wine down after a long day. I'm glad I had the chance to experience this!

I went with a friend for the wine tasting and they have an incredible and unique selection (I loved the Merlot). The staff is incredibly helpful and attentive and just a good time to be around. The wine tasting consists of 6 wines and they also offer charcuterie (for purchase) for snacking during your tasting. They have live music on the weekends which is a great complement to the group tasting that they do at 7pm. My only complaints are they do not sell wine by the glass to non-members. After the tasting, I would have loved to grab a glass of my favorite and they are missing out on quite a bit of money. There is limited parking in the area and the bar in small with limited seating so I would make sure to have a reservation.
Wow, whenever I visited the actual location, the customer service and the staff were always very friendly, especially the general manager (a gentleman who always made the experience pleasant). The location was really nice, the private room was great and the vibes were awesome. Unfortunately, my experience with Nikki Harris, who is also listed as a general manager, has been the complete opposite. For months, I have been asking how I can actually receive my wines, and I have the emails to prove it. I never received a single response or clear direction. The whole communication around this has been terrible. When Nikki finally did reply, it was with a rude and dismissive message, one that I've attached here for transparency, without ever acknowledging my prior outreach. This is not the way paying customers should be spoken to or treated, especially when they have been spending money and not able to get clarity on their products. I had already canceled my membership before this exchange, but had I not, I certainly would have afterward. Her tone and lack of professionalism were unacceptable, and it made clear to me that she does not understand what respectful customer service looks like. She also had to backtrack on her email without even knowing the facts. The worst! I understand that closures and operational challenges happen, but respect and clear communication should never be optional. Unfortunately, Nikki Harris demonstrated neither. read more

We stopped in for a wine tasting and some charcuterie and had a great time! Our guide was very knowledgeable and helped us find the notes in every wine and made great pairing suggestions both with the charcuterie in front of us and for future meals in case we wanted to buy a bottle. They don't offer pours by the glass if you walk in and feature their membership, which is subscription based and looked great, but since we weren't local wasn't a good fit for us. The space was also pretty cute and we liked the high top setup that was great for our group. Check them out! read more

Found this cute little spot near our place and decided to try the brunch bites tasting for our anniversary. Great decision! India was our wine guide and she was magnificent! Very knowledgeable, but also very personable. She gave us great recommendations, she was thorough in explaining all the details about the wines we were tasting and her attitude was just top tier. The food was okay, nothing to really write home about. But it didn't matter because we all know the wine is the main character . Will definitely return, this seems like a really chill spot. read more

I really enjoyed this experience at this Black owed winery! First and foremost much appreciate for accommodating our party of nine with no reservations. There are multiple sampling options. We paid at the front & were seated in an intimate sampling area. This area featured a faux topiary wall, wine gift boxes for purchase as well as separate bottles. The host was very knowledgeable about the background of the brand, and compared some samples to more familiar brands to help you place your pallet.I absolutely would go again! read more

We had the best time. Staff is amazing. We didn't have a reservation but since we were out of town the manager let us do a tasting at the bar. Conversation was amazing, live music was great. We will be coming back when we are houston. read more

We celebrated my girlfriend's birthday here with a wine tasting party. I must say the experience was amazing! The place is quint and in the heart of downtown Houston. Loved the decor and our sommelier was not only very knowledgeable but fun and hilarious. He's pictured. We purchased individual charcuterie boards for our party guest and everyone loved it. Highly recommend this place for your wine tasting event or just stop by for a glass of wine. You won't be disappointed. read more

Pur Noire is a delightful escape in Downtown Houston. I contacted them last minute for a private event and they were able to accommodate my needs for a wine tasting for 10 people with no issue! The manager hosted the tasting and took his time with all of our questions. They have an extensive selection of various wines. Only downside is the inside is a little small. Ambiance and customer service were excellent! I wish there were more food options but I was told they have a good weekend brunch. I'll be back to check that out! read more
I enjoyed the wine tasting and the atmosphere, but I would probably not recommend or return in the future. I did appreciate the staff's knowledge about the different wines and Pur Noire's history, but everything was a bit chaotic and unorganized. Maybe my expectations were a little too high based on my previous experiences at other wineries.. Great ambiance though! read more

Beautiful place to try with friends or partner! Taste the wines they have. I personally am not a wine girl so I didn't like it but my friends enjoyed it tremendously. But I did like the desert wine, it was so good! read more
A few friends and I had reservations. Very nice wine selection, music and staff. They have wine for novice and connoisseurs. The only down side is that they don't serve food unless you're a member and even then the food is ordered from a partner of theirs. They offer charcuterie which is not made to share and isn't that great. Overall, I'd recommend for an intimate date night or girls night out. read more

I enjoyed the wine tasting and the atmosphere was really nice - but there were two things I would suggest is that you Uber or Lyft because the parking can be hit or miss the other thing is the charcuterie board is a no for me - they need other options for those that are vegetarian or pescatarian etc. but overall I enjoyed myself and would go back. I did purchase a bottle of their Zin delicious. read more

First time here and I will definitely be back! I came with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday and we enjoyed our experience so much! India was very knowledgeable about the history of Pur Noire, each wine and the perfect pairings for each wine. India and the manager that was present that night were very attentive. They both made sure that we had everything we needed, available for any questions and never had to wait for our next tasting. Love it!!! Came in about 9:00 and the manager kind of ruff around the edges. She first asked if were we, members. We said no and she said the only way we can get in was if we bought flights!!! I wanted to try that anyway so we said ok!! We were finally able to get in. But our waiter Brett or something like that. When he found out it was our first time and my family was here from ATL. He made our experience an experience of a lifetime. I learned so much about wine within an hour!! We love it!! And the wine was really good. The kitchen was closed so we had the charcuterie cup. I probably won't be back. But the experience was pretty good. read more

5 out of 5! We had such a great tasting experience with our guide George. I tried The Pur Noire Red Flight and it was amazing. We left with buying 2 bottles of the Pur Euphoria. Definitely headed back, make sure you check out the wine club! read more
