Forgot the name, but it tasted just like Mexican candy!

Never had a chance to check out this place, but it definitely was a nice change of scenery. Walked on over from the brewery and was surprised to find a very laid-back, cozy, chilled setting over at their distillery. Will be coming back very soon again!! Have a mixed drink and enjoy the view of the pretty carousel from truck yard. Tip! If you buy the glass and token combo from the brewery you get a token that gets you a cool glass when you purchase any mixed drink. Loved that! It was a nice surprise. Stop by and enjoy the night life without the hustle and bustle.

Really nice distillery. Their brewery is across the street. Delicious drinks available. Nice place to relax. Parking is expensive next door, but if you go a block away, it's much cheaper.

Shirley temple, sort of. Not really but that's what the bartender called it

We parked in a parking lot and saw an open door to this building on our way to 8th Wonder Brewery. We walked in and saw the 8th Wonder logo. There were not a lot of people - maybe 5-6 people, so I asked the bartenders, "What is this place? I see you have liquor?" The bartender explained, "This is our new distillery. It's been open less than 25 hours!" Cool! What was not cool were the lack of mixers and pricing. The distillery only serves gin and vodka, which is fine, but they did not have any non-carbonated mixers or juices such as cranberry juice (Cape Cod), orange juice (screwdriver), etc. To me, these are basic essentials that go with vodka, so to not go to the Super K Mart down the street and stock up a little bit seems negligent to me. I asked if I could get a Robert Muler without the beer and still be charged the full price, and the bartender refused. I thought that was rude. It wasn't like I was asking for a discount on the cocktail with one less ingredient. And it wasn't like the place was busy as we were the only ones ordering at the bar. Heck, while making my friend a Robert Muler, the bartender realized afterwards he forgot to add the beer (ended up topping off instead of mixing in the cocktail shaker), so what's the difference if I had ordered without beer in the first place? Furthermore, it's $6.50 including tax for a mixed drink of vodka and Sprite. The size? It's like the sippy cup size for a child. You can pay about the same or less at Lucky's Pub down the street for quadruple the size easily. If you're going to serve sippy cup portions, you should have sippy cup prices. I think if you want just beer though, this is less crowded (for now) and better than their brewery. There is no token system here (due to a separate liquor license than the brewery), which means you are under no obligation to drink, for example, all 3 of your drinks if you don't ever plan on visiting again. A can of beer (4 options were available, no drafts) was still $5, but no token required. At the time, the distillery was not able to keep a credit card tab open, but perhaps that will change. The TVs hadn't been set up yet, but I am sure that will change. If you want food, you need to go to the food trucks at 8th Wonder Brewery so I don't know how that works if you want to leave your drinks for a short while and return with food. I guess you better be with people who will watch your drink and save your spot. Hopefully they will bring in non-alcoholic mixers!

Looking for local booze? 8th Wonder Distillery is known for making their own Vodka and Gin! Right in the heart of the upcoming East downtown action The Distillery has bartenders creating tasty and fun mixed drinks to compliment the craft of the Gin and Vodka. Feeling nostalgic? Look outside the window to view downtown or around the Distillery to see some of the seats which were once inside the Astrodome. Kid friendly with board games, TV set up for Netflix and main Tv to show the latest game playing. Not a mixed drink person, have a sample of the Vodka or Gin straight up. Or you can walk across the street to 8th Wonder brewer for great craft beers.

My first time visiting 8th wonder and I loved it! To know that we have a local distillery here in Houston and so close by is amazing. It's hard producing your own among a slew of other brands but they definitely hold their own. I tasted their vodka with added sprite and it was soooooo good! Great flavor, very smooth, and nice on the palate. Their drink specials are amazing and they come with snacks!! Inside is comfy and inviting. Won't be my last visit!!!

Drinks need a lot of work

Bartender didn't know how to make drinks. I got a mule and my husband got something else. They looked identical and both tasted awful. Environment was good and laid back.

No shade but take the first reviewer's experience with a grain of salt! If you frequent the brewery then expect the same great experience, service, and high quality product. I really wanted to try the gin and vodka neat to experience the true flavor and I must say they were both really good. You can buy one of the glasses for $4 if you purchase a drink. For us healthy people you can order a drink with Topo Chico for only $6 They do offer specialty cocktails which my boyfriend said was tasty. As with any other business they are still in the process of getting established in their space and it takes patience to understand that and be supportive. The space is beautiful and I can't wait to see how they add more seating and artwork. I really hope they have plans to sell the vodka and gin in stores or bars because Tito's is about to get a run for their money!

Great staff and great drinks and vodka for sale!!! Such a unique spot with lots of natural light in the middle of Houston. Their drink selection is bomb! Also an awesome selection of infused vodkas.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. I got a Mexican candy drink and oh my goodness was it good. This is a must visit place!

Turns out we were there during a special event, so the menu of the night was limited, even so, it was yummy! The bartender was quick to help me make my drink just the way I like it (I highly recommend their vodka with soda, strawberry, and lime). The tour was very informative, and our guide answered all of our questions with excitement. We will be going back and bringing friends with us. Don't let the odd feeling location discourage you from going here. The interior set up and fun vibe is fantastic!!!!!

We were not able to take the tour but that's okay, I'm familiar with how whiskey is distilled. So we arrived and had cocktails and food. We sat at the bar area. The staff were friendly and service was good. I enjoyed everything I tried. The best thing I had was a straight pour of the cask strength rye whiskey. I recommend you taste the spirits straight up to get more flavor and I thought the cocktail flavors were okay, need a bit more depth imo. I love the open space of the tasting room/bar area, the lighting is nice and there's good ambiance. The outdoor back patio is nice as well with a good view of downtown. Most fun was their presentation of the smoked whiskey cocktail.

From the outside, you'd never think this neatly crafted distillery was here. It is for sure a neighborhood gem. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Kisha was working the bar and was very helpful suggesting a drink for us. She asked all the right questions and I selected the hibiscus drink and my husband got the spiced drink (sorry can't remember the names). They were mad with love and perfection. The upstairs of the distillery is uniquely designed and has local art to add to the flavor of the environment. They have the cutest sitting room so you can enjoy your drinks. We purchased a tour and Bruce, the tour guide, added to the atmosphere with his humor and knowledge. During the tour you get to taste all the rums and they are all made with love. You will learn more about it during the tour. The owner, Eric, is also very welcoming and doesn't shy away from his guests. It's definitely a place I would return to purchase rum and also bring my visitors.

They only have three liquors but they tast pretty good. The place is kinda small but they have a larger open seating area upstairs. We also got to paint our own bottles which was cool.
