I really appreciated the fact that they went above and beyond and gave me a call when they had a cancellation. Headline: Unprofessional billing, broken written agreements, and predatory math I wanted to love Pure Skin Care, but their customer service and billing ethics have left a terrible taste in my mouth. I purchased a series of laser treatments, contracting for a total of $1,750 and making a half payment of $875. During my first session, the settings had to be dialed down significantly due to a medication I was on (Rinvoq). Because of this incomplete treatment, my aesthetician explicitly promised me a fourth session to make up for it and confirmed this amendment to our agreement in writing via text. Due to a permanent change in my travel circumstances, I am no longer able to commute from San Diego to Portland to finish the package. When I asked for a refund for the unused portion, management completely went back on their word. Per our written agreement for a 4-session package, the per-session rate is $437.50. Having completed only one session, I utilized $437.50 of my $875 payment and am legally owed a cash refund of $437.50. Instead, management chose to play dumb, completely ignored their own written text messages, and used a 3-session calculation to withhold my funds and offer a mere $292 in product credit, store credit, or credit transferable to a friend. I even laid out the exact math for management via email, showing how they were manipulating the numbers to keep my money, and they still refused to honor it. It is incredibly disappointing that a business will not stand by what its own staff puts in writing. Because they refuse to act ethically, I have officially filed a formal complaint with the Oregon Department of Justice Consumer Protection Division. Recently moved to Portland and am very happy I stumbled upon Pura. They have a welcoming lobby with the coziest chairs to sit on while waiting. I had a signature facial with Maddie and she did such a wonderful job. Everyone there seemed very passionate about skin care and self care. I loved that Maddie showed me the products she used and recommended for my skin concerns, but there was never any pressure to purchase any products. The cost for the facial was incredibly reasonable. I had been looking for a place to get a monthly facial that was close to work and reasonably priced. I had a series of Microneedling RF treatments done and wanted to start doing monthly maintenance. They got me in on a flash deal and I'm hooked. I come out glowing. I've seen major improvements in my skin. The membership is well worth the price. It's extremely reasonable considering the quality experience you get. I signed up for a monthly signature facial membership.
