So very disappointing. Upon first inquiry, I was told the water system is $74 a month. Which is true, BUT.... The loan is at 10% interest, so you will end up paying over $12K for the system. I asked the sales guy who came over, are there other finance options? He said he would have someone from finance call me. No call. I called Puragain and spoke to a 'Ron'. He said yes, he thinks there are 0% interest options, he will have the sales guy and a finance guy reach out to me. No calls. I finally called Aquafinance directly, and spoke to a gal who said there are options but it is up to the Puragain branch, and she would have someone call me. No calls. We were initially excited to move forward with Puragain, but the experience became increasingly frustrating due to poor communication and follow-up. During the first installation, the installer determined there wasn't enough room under our sink for the reverse osmosis system. Based on his recommendation, we reconfigured the space and even installed a new garbage disposal to make room for the system. We were told someone would contact us to reschedule. Weeks went by without any follow-up. I reached out myself after hearing nothing and was told the install team would call and get us rescheduled. Again, nothing happened. It wasn't until after I left a negative review that someone contacted me asking what day worked best for installation. By that point, we had lost confidence in the company's customer service and decided not to move forward. The lack of communication and follow-through was disappointing, especially after we invested time and money preparing for the installation. I was going to install a new faucet on my girlfriends kitchen sink but unfortunately could not because she has that damn system and it uses its own proprietary fittings and what the hot and cold risers to the faucet were connected to made no sense to me. Could not see how to undo them and redo. Called the company said someone would get back to us in 10min and maybe 1.5 hrs later they called. Of course we missed the call and I had already passed on trying to hook up her new faucet till we can figure out how these fittings work. We recently had a Puragain Water system installed, and so far we're very happy with both the product and the customer service. Connor, our sales representative, did an amazing job explaining everything and making the process easy. Caleb handled the installation and was professional, knowledgeable, and did a wonderful job. A few days after installation, we unfortunately needed the unit moved. Puragain responded right away and came back out to relocate it at no charge, which we really appreciated. So far, the water quality has been excellent. We've noticed a difference in our showers, and our drinking water tastes amazing. I'm leaving a 4-star review for now because I've seen some reviews mentioning expensive filter replacements. We were told replacement costs after the first year could range from about $150-$300, so I'd like to see how that experience goes before giving a full 5 stars. The guy who installed our whole house water filter/under the sink filters told us that whole house filters were free for the first year but when it was time to change the filters, he already no longer work for the company and Puragain didn't honor the free filters. Months later, our under the sink filter leaked causing flood in our kitchen, our cabinets were soaked. My husband lost a day of wages because he had to address the issue. Puragain requires a huge upfront payment of around $6,000, and the sales process feels overly focused on convincing you to sign quickly rather than fully informing you. Important details about ongoing costs are not clearly explained upfront. For example, replacement filters can cost anywhere from $300 to $1,200, and in some areas, they may need to be replaced as frequently as every 3 months. These expenses came as a complete surprise after installation. On top of that, canceling the agreement is extremely difficult, and getting any portion of the upfront payment back seems nearly impossible. Customer service, including area managers and representatives, has been unhelpful and unresponsive when trying to address ongoing issues with the system. Overall, it feels like the company is more interested in collecting money than providing reliable service or support. I would strongly advise others to STAY AWAY FROM PURAGAIN. These people are SCAMMERS!! I still haven't received a response from several months of my first complaint. My first complaint was on Nov 2025. Called up customer service all of Jan 2026. Finally, they give me an email address for me to write-up a formal complaint. No one has responded to this complaint since Feb 21st. read more

Disappointing results and an $8,000 repair bill I've hesitated to write this, but after our brand-new tankless water heater failed, I felt compelled to share our experience. In 2020, we installed a Puragain Filtersorb and RO system to protect our new appliances and help with my daughter's eczema. The Issues: Zero Performance: Within six months, we saw heavy limescale on showerheads and glass. Despite Puragain coming out multiple times to adjust the system and add more media, nothing improved. Plumbing Damage: One "fix" actually sent filter material into our pipes, clogging the water heater screen and faucets. System Failure: Yesterday, our 5-year-old tankless water heater died due to severe corrosion. The plumber was shocked, noting the unit looked like it had never seen treated water. While Puragain's customer service staff are pleasant, the system itself failed to protect our home. We are now facing an $8,000 replacement cost for a water heater that should have lasted much longer. Bottom Line: I cannot recommend this system. Puragain installed their system into my home in July 2024. In July 2025, their system leaked and caused extensive damage to my home. They took responsibility for it ON PAPER. In September 2025 they quit corresponding with me. They refused to answer calls, emails, and texts. In October 2025 I contacted my insurance company to see if they could help me. They agreed and told me that they would be using subrogation to go after Puragain's insurance to pay for the damage. The damage ended up being more extensive than originally estimated because the flooring didn't match the rest of the flooring in my home even though it was the same color. It's November and my home is still a mess from this leak, I also submitted a complaint to the State Attorney General. Puragain ignored letters and calls from the Attorney General's office, too! Additionally, the restoration company they recommended told me Puragain is $65,000 in arrears to them. Please think very hard before using this company. They were dishonest about the cost and life about the filters too (which I had the "privilege" of paying for in the middle of all of this.) What's the limerick? "when they were good they were very, very good and when they were bad they were horrid." UPDATE: In response to Ryan D's comment- 1. Ghosting your customer for 2 months is NOT taking them seriously. 2. Management is who is ghosting me. 3. There was nothing for you to coordinate. I coordinated everything with the mitigation company and with the restoration company. All you had to do was pay the invoices submitted to and approved by your management. 4. Three plus months is not quickly. 5. The occurrence is not rare to me. 6. I have exhibited patience but it has worn out. 7. Buyer beware. I wanted to wait a year to write this review and I'm glad I did. Here's my honest opinion of Puragain water. First the good - Our install was professional and quick - We did notice a positive change in our water quality (both taste and softness) - The whole system cost us about $4500 which I don't think is a bad value for the initial setup. That included getting alkaline water. The Bad Our yearly visit has come and gone and my technician blindsided me when he recommended replacing multiple filters after one year of use. The cost was $600! When I first got the system, the expectation laid forth to me from Puragain was that year 1 would be around $150 max with their other filters needing to be replaced every 2-3 years. When that would happen the rep said it would be around $450. Now, the tech that just visited told me that the first year was especially hard on a new system since everything is being flushed through 30 year old pipes and because of this, he said he recommends all the filters being replaced. He showed me tests and told me the numbers. I went ahead and had everything done and recommended, but this whole experience has left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. In my honest view, Puragain fails to realistically set out the cost of long term system maintenance for new customers. I understand inflation has been rough, but these prices are absurd for a new system that was installed only a year ago. I'm going to be sticking with them one more year, but if we see another price spike and/or whole system filter replacement from them next year we're ditching it.
