Our family of 5 have been patients of Winning smiles for 17 years and we have always loved it there until recently. It is nearly impossible to get through to anyone on the new phone system, billing discrepancies have been handled with threatening letters and texts. We spent hours gathering documentation on a billing issue and the only response was a letter terminating treatment. The only verbal communication that we have had has been argumentative and has provided zero resolution. We have received texts about missed appointments a week before the actual appointments. We were billed $1000 over the amount agreed upon by our insurance, which is in network, the insurance was not billed until 2 years after the start of treatment and the claim is now expired. I waited weeks to write this review in hopes that we would have an explanation or constructive plan to move forward but we only have a letter of termination of care for our daughter and email regarding late payment of an amount that no one at Winning Smiles can explain. Disappointed and sad about such a decline in what was once a great practice.

I called a few days later and was in for an appointment right away. So far, I have seen the same dental hygienist and dentist every appointment. They are both very nice and very honest and have even remembered details about me that i have shared with them, which makes going to the dentist more enjoyable. This location in particular has evening hours on Wednesday, which is important to me, because I do not have to take off of work to get to the dentist. They also have some weekend hours. The facility is newer and is very clean. All the tools they use are cleaned and then put into sealed packages and they open them up right in front of you so you know the tools they are using are hygienic. They also have appointment reminders set up, so you can have reminders sent to your e-mail or text messaged to you. I love this because it is easy to forget about when you are scheduling 6-months in advance for the general cleaning. If you are looking to get a new dentist or you haven't been to the dentist in a while and you want to get back to getting your teeth cleaned regularly, give this place a call and start taking care of your teeth! The staff is super nice, very knowledgable and Dr. Trautman has a very calm manner of interacting with the kids. The folks that do the teeth cleaning are awesome and somehow have managed to make it an event for the girls to head over. They explain everything to them, and have never been the least bit pushy. I remember the first day my older daughter was there, sitting in the chair with huge sunglasses on, almost seeming to enjoy what was happening ... she left wanting to be a dentist. Now she wants to be a cat-unicorn though, so take that for what it's worth. The facility itself is clean and bright, with a big fish tank and a train that runs along the ceiling. It has an open floor plan so you can really see what goes on in the place and it's pretty interesting. The building itself is centrally located right off North Buffalo road, in the heart of Orchard park. I'm writing this review because after we left there today, my daughter was smiling like crazy and happy because she felt really proud of herself for having a great checkup and I believe that Dr. Trautman and his staff had a big part of that moment of goodness. So I tried looking around for testing sites at 2pm on a Thursday. These guys had an opening and helped me make an appointment. My ride didn't arrive on time, so I called them and they were able to reschedule me same day right before they closed. Testing site was super sterile and organized. Only down side is that it took 4 days to get my results. But over all a nice experience! 2. As my grandmother's care taker I took her to see her Dr. All the time at Neighborhood Heath Center. Upon walking in there are tons of posters at the check-in counter in multiple languages explaining that they have access to an interpreter if needed. As well as posters about financial or government assistance for those who need it. Nurses and receptionists are sweet hearts. Dr.B really listened to my grandmother about her health issues and concerns and helped her through them. Even at the pharmacy there were also posters for those who might need assistance affording prescriptions. Honestly the most welcoming and helpful Doctors offices I have EVER been to! (Only downside is that even with a scheduled appointment we had to wait an hour to be seen)

And then explain to her what was going on and that I needed the blood work done for my anemia and an x-ray for my throat right away, as I felt that I have a blockage in my throat. (Ended up having a blockage). I finally did give me the blood work but refuse the X-ray and instead sent me for an ultrasound of my throat, which being in the medical field for a long time I know that the other song will not show a blockage in the throat, the tech that did the ultrasound also said the same thing. Neighborhood health center in blaisdell vet told me to go to the ER at Mercy which I did, and they told me that I should not be being sent there when they can do the X-ray. This place is absolutely terrible, instead of calling the patient back and apologizing and trying to make good on this they send me a letter saying they were dismissing me from their practice. I am completely okay with that as I felt after my doctor left it was absolutely no care at all. They would not even give me my emergency meds. Like my EpiPen for bee stings and my rescue inhalers for my asthma. This is not proper care, if they don't like when someone gets upset with them then maybe they should make an appointment for them, active listen to what the patient is trying to tell them and get them the testing that needs to get done instead of sending them to the ER where the patient gets yelled at for going there. I would not recommend this place to anyone they need to get their act together! Not to mention when you have an appointment time you're sitting for at least 3 hours to be seen, even when you have a time.

But all the equipment seemed up to date, they played my favorite music and made me feel comfortable. This was the best dentist appointment I've ever had.
