I called back to Westermeier to ask that they send them to the dentist so I can get the referral and now Lynn tells me that Christina is 'new' and didn't know the policy and that they would not send me the xrays unless I paid $199! I told her I had been talking to Christina and she was going to send them and Lynn said she 'made a mistake.' It's really not my fault that someone is giving out wrong information but Christina also knew the dire situation we were in to try and get her teeth done. She even sent me the Hipaa form so she could release them to me. Not only is this practice cruel when telling them that my daughter was laying in pain with the impacted teeth, but they held a referral and now the xrays hostage, causing us all this unnecessary calling, trying to get appointments and running around to help her. Big deal if they give xrays for free! They only take cash payments so sure, throwing in xrays seems like a great deal but who in their right mind would pay out of pocket if they have insurance? Give me $10k and I'll figure out a way to get you xrays too! These people are horrible. I cannot believe the lack of compassion or kindness as I was crying on the phone begging them to help my daughter. Shame on them!!!!

Days later I received a call and told there would be no fee. Great. My husband brought my daughter yesterday and sure enough, I am charged $85.00. Called and spoke to the office manager. She handled it very poorly, and kept explaining that they did a lot of "extra's" and that the $85 was actually a great deal. The thing is, I didn't ask for any extra's. I just wanted to know if I would be paying the same price for another round of braces and to see if I could get some kind of discount as a returning patient. This manager made a point to say that there was no record of my previous conservations and therefore, she would not do anything. I have worked for years in private practice - Manhattan - selling elective medical cosmetic procedures. I understand how this works. My other children will be going elsewhere for their braces.
